Disposal
If the crossed-out bin symbol appears on the equipment or packaging, this means the product must not be included with other general waste at the end of its working life. The user must take the worn product to a sorted waste centre, or return it to the retailer when purchasing a new one. Products ready for disposal and measuring less than 25cm can be consigned free of charge to dealers whose sales area covers at least 400m², without any purchase obligation. An efficient sorted waste collection for the environmentally friendly disposal of the used device, or its subsequent recycling, helps avoid the potential negative effects on the environment and people’s health, and encourages the re-use and/or recycling of the construction materials. GEWISS actively takes part in operations that sustain the correct salvaging and re- use or recycling of electric and electronic equipment.
IN BRIEF
- The GW10595 motion sensor is designed for indoor ceiling assembly only. Once the power supply connection has been made, the sensor takes about 1 minute to reach a stable operation status.
FUNCTIONS
- The working status in various lighting conditions can be regulated (fig.F).
- If set on “sun” (max), the light sensitive detector is inhibited.
- If set on “3” (min), the load is activated when the ambient light value is lower than 3 LUX.
- If set between “3” and “sun”, the sensor is activated when the ambient light value is lower than the value selected.
MANUAL EXCLUSION FUNCTION
- From ‘Sensor mode’ → to ‘Manual forcing’
- Turn the one-way command switch (fig. A, detail K) OFF-ON, OFF-ON twice within 3 seconds. The sensor will now keep the output contact closed and the load activated.
- From ‘Manual forcing’ → to ‘Sensor mode’
- Turn off the one-way command switch (fig. A, detail K), then turn it back on after 0.3 seconds. If the detector is not altered manually, it will automatically return to ‘sensor mode’ after 8 hours.
OPERATING RANGE
The operating range is circular, omnidirectional at 360°, and ensures optimum movement detection. The extent of the operating range depends on both the assembly height and the approach angle. The detection capacity is greatest with a tangential type approach (fig. E, detail 1), and reduced in the case of radial approach (fig. E, detail 2).
INSTALLATION
The IR motion detector can be installed in 3 different ways:
- On the ceiling, using fixing springs (fig. B)
- On the ceiling, on a surface-mounting box (fig. C)
- On the ceiling, in a flush-mounting box (fig. D)
If the lamp is more than 60W (incandescent), there must be a distance of at least 60cm between it and the sensor. The power supply circuit (L-N) must be protected against overloads by a device, fuse or automatic switch, with a rated current not exceeding 6A (Figure A).
TEST
- Turn the TIME knob to the minimum (10s). Turn the LUX knob to the maximum (sun).
- Power the device; wait about 1 minute for the learning phase (during which the detector is not active). After this time, the load will be activated when the sensor detects a movement. If there are no further movements, the load is deactivated after 10 seconds.
- Turn the LUX knob to the minimum (3).
- If the ambient light is higher than 3 LUX, the sensor does not detect the movement.
- If the ambient light is lower than 3 LUX (darkness), the sensor can work.
- If there is no movement, the load stops working after 10 sec.
NB: when the test is carried out in daylight, turn the LUX knob to the “sun” position as otherwise the sensor lamp might not work!
