The HybridTM – Product Information

The HybridTM is a continuous throughput trimmer designed to process product as it’s fed. It has the capacity to process up to 40 lbs per hour (wet) and 15 lbs per hour (dry) with a single trimming unit. For optimal results, it is recommended to operate the trimmer in a cool, low-humidity environment.

Start-up Sequence

Before starting the machine, perform a safety check. Once confirmed, follow the start-up sequence:

  1. Adjust the tilt of the machine as required.
  2. Set the vacuum pressure to the desired level using the MIN (1) and MAX (6) controls.
  3. Use the emergency stop button if needed.

Suggested Start Settings

The Triminator HybridTM is capable of trimming at various moisture levels. It is important to know your moisture content to determine the appropriate starting settings. Here are the suggested settings based on moisture content:

Moisture Content| Machine Tilt| Vacuum Lever Position| Tumbler Speed| Blade Speed
---|---|---|---|---
WET (18% +)| 2.5 Turns| MAX (6)| 3| 6
SEMI-DRY (11-18%)| 4 Turns| MAX (6)| 3| 6
DRY (9-11%)| 7 Turns| 4 to MAX (6)| 4| 3

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Load bucked and destemmed product into the hopper or infeed conveyor (if applicable). It is recommended to keep the tumbler around 3/4 to full of material. Too little material may result in over-trimmed product, while too much material may lead to poor trim quality due to low vacuum suction.
  2. Check the quality of the trim from your first batch and adjust settings if necessary.
    • Machine Tilt: Higher tilt moves the product through the tumbler faster, while lower tilt allows more time in the tumbler.
    • Vacuum Suction: Higher pressure pulls leaves closer to the blade, while lower pressure reduces over-trimming.
    • Tumbler Speed: Slower speeds allow more cuts per rotation but can result in product clumping. Higher speeds may prevent proper tumbling. Aim for a tumbling wave of product.
    • Blade Speed: Faster speeds increase the number of cuts per tumbler rotation.
  3. Refer to the user guide for troubleshooting tips regarding trim quality.

Cleaning

The machine, except for the Power Pack and fan motor, can be pressure washed for cleaning. For detailed cleaning instructions, refer to the user guide.

LOAD FLOWER AND FEED THE TUMBLER
Load bucked and destemmed product into the hopper (or infeed conveyor if applicable). It’s best to keep the tumbler ?/? to ?/? full of material. Too little material may result in over-trimmed product and too much may result in poor trim quality due to low vacuum suction.

CHECK AND ADJUST
Check the quality of the trim from your first batch and adjust settings as needed.
Machine Tilt – Higher tilt moves product through the tumbler faster. Lower tilt allows the product to spend more time in the tumbler.
Vacuum Suction – Higher pressure pulls leaves closer to the blade. Lower pressure can reduce over-trimming the product.
Tumbler Speed – Slower speeds allow more cuts per rotation but can result in product clumping. Higher speeds can result in no product tumbling. Aim for a tumbling wave of product.
Blade Speed – Faster speeds increase cuts per tumbler rotation.
