Square D JYT65478 Fixed Padlock Attachment Kits
Product Information
The Fixed Padlock Attachment Kits HJPA and H2PHLA are designed for use with
PowerPacTMC HD and HG Two-Pole Circuit Breakers. These padlock attachments are
used to lock the circuit breakers in either the ON (I) or OFF (O) position.
The HJPA padlock attachment can be used in both ON (I) and OFF (O) positions,
while the H2PHLA padlock attachment is only used in the OFF (O) position.
It is important to note that the HJPA and H2PHLA padlock attachments are
compatible with HD and HG circuit breakers only.
The kit includes a mounting screw and a padlock attachment.
Retain for future use
These padlock attachments can be used to lock HD and HG two-pole circuit
breakers.
- HJPA: ON (I) or OFF (O)
- H2PHLA: OFF (O) only
Note: The HJPA and H2PHLA padlock attachments are for use with HD and HG circuit breakers only.
Product Usage Instructions
Preparation
- Remove the Visi-Trip handle (A), remove the auxiliary cover (B) and remove the rating label (C).
- Replace the auxiliary cover.
- Affix the label to the padlock attachment (D) .
- Replace the Visi-Trip handle (A), note the proper orientation (E), or handle extension.
Note: The H2PHLA is not compatible with the Visi-Trip handle. Do not reinstall the Visi-Trip when using H2PHLA.
Installation
- Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working on or inside equipment.
- Insert the mounting screw (A, provided) through the padlock attachment (B) and into hole on the circuit breaker accessory cover.
- Torque to 10 lb-in. (1.2 N•m).
Operation
DANGER
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION OR ARC FLASH
When circuit breaker handle is locked OFF (O), always use a properly rated
voltage sensing device to confirm power is off before working on equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

Move the circuit breaker handle to the OFF (O) or ON (I) position.
Note: The H2PHLA device prevents locking in the ON (I) position. -
Move the hinged portion of the padlock attachment so tab (A) prevents the circuit breaker handle (B) from moving.

Insert up to three 3/16–5/16 in. (5–8 mm) padlock shackles (C).

Precautions

- Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe electrical work practices. See NFPA 70E, CSA Z462 or NOM-029-STPS.
- This equipment must only be installed and serviced by qualified electrical personnel.
- Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working on or inside equipment.
- Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off.
- Replace all devices, doors and covers before turning on power to this equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
