MRCOOL MCCK01 Cleaning Kit

Product Information

The product is an air conditioning system consisting of an outdoor unit (condenser coils) and an indoor unit (evaporator coils). It is equipped with a foam cleaner, pull-rod sprayer, and water bottle for cleaning and maintenance purposes. Condenser Coils (Outdoor Unit)

Air Handler Pull-Rod Sprayer Assembly
The pull-rod sprayer assembly is used for cleaning the air handler (evaporator coils). To assemble

  1. Insert one end of the round plastic tube into the small opening on the bottom side of the sprayer.
  2. Fill the provided water bottle with clean water.
  3. Insert the other end of the plastic tube into the bottle opening and feed it through until it reaches the bottom.
  4. Attach the sprayer to the bottle by threading it onto the bottle opening and tightening until secure.

Air Handler Pull-Rod Sprayer Usage
To use the pull-rod sprayer

  1. Pump the handle on the end of the sprayer a few times to build pressure.
  2. Depress the button on the top of the sprayer to spray water and thoroughly rinse the coils.
  3. Adjust the spray pattern by turning the nozzle on the end of the sprayer if desired.

Evaporator Coils (Indoor Unit)
The evaporator coils are located in the indoor unit of the air conditioning system. To clean the evaporator coils

  1. Turn off and disconnect power from the unit being serviced.
  2. Open the front cover and remove the filters.
  3. Unfold the water collection bag and hang it off of the unit.
  4. Avoid spraying cleaner or water on any electrical components. If necessary, cover them with a plastic bag.
  5. Allow some time for the dirt, cleaning foam, and water to collect in the water collection bag.
  6. Dispose of the collected dirt, foam, and water properly.

Condenser Coils (Outdoor Unit)

A/C Foam Cleaner, Pull-Rod Sprayer, and water bottle

  1. Turn off and disconnect power to the condenser.

  2. Remove any debris or heavy soil that can easily be removed by hand.

  3. Shake can well.

  4. Spray foam cleaner onto the condenser coils completely and allow it to soak for a few minutes. Avoid spraying cleaner on any of the electrical components.

  5. Using water hose, thoroughly rinse the dirt and cleaning foam from the condenser coils. Avoid spraying any water on the electrical components.
    CAUTION: Avoid spraying cleaner or water on any of the electrical components within the unit. If necessary, cover them with a plastic bag. This could create a safety risk and/ or electric shock.

  6. For condensers heavily saturated with dirt and debris, a repeat application may be necessary.

  7. Allow some time for any excess water to run out from the condenser before reconnecting the power.

  8. Reconnect the power and turn on the unit.

Warning: When using the cleaner and sprayer it is recommended to wear gloves, safety glasses, and a face mask to avoid inhaling the fumes and the possibility of the cleaner coming
into contact with your skin & eyes.

AIR HANDLER PULL-ROD SPRAYER ASSEMBLY

Assembly

  1. Insert one end of the round plastic tube into the small opening on the bottom side of the sprayer as shown.
  2. Now, using the bottle provided in the kit and fill it with clean water. Then, insert the other end of the plastic tube into the bottle opening and feed it through until it reaches the bottom.
  3. Then, attach the sprayer to the bottle by threading it onto the bottle opening and tightening until secure

Use

  1. In order to use the sprayer, you must first pump the handle on the end of the sprayer a few times to build pressure.
  2. Once pressure has been built, depress the button on the top to spray water and thoroughly rinse coils.
    NOTE: The spray pattern can be adjusted by turning the nozzle on the end of the sprayer.

Evaporator Coils (Indoor Unit)

(A/C Foam Cleaner, Water Collection Bag, Pull-Rod Sprayer, and Water Bottle)

  1. Turn off and disconnect the power from the unit being serviced.

  2. Open the front cover and remove the filters.

  3. Unfold the water collection bag and hang it off of the back of the air handler with the black strap so it will hang fully and evenly underneath the air handler. This bag will act as a catchall to catch any water, debris, and foam cleaner rinsed from the evaporator coils.

  4. Attach the drain pipe to the spout at the bottom of the bag

  5. Run the end of the drain hose into an empty receptacle, such as a bucket.

  6. Shake the A/C Foam Cleaner well.

  7. Spray the cleaning foam onto the evaporator coils through the vent openings at the top of the air handler and the portion of the coils that are visible at the front of the air handler (where the filters were removed).

  8. Allow the cleaning foam to sit for a few minutes and work into the coils.

  9. Then, using the sprayer, rinse any dirt and excess foam from the coils. Avoid spraying any of the electrical components.
    Caution: Avoid spraying cleaner or water on any of the electrical components within the unit. If necessary, cover them with a plastic bag. This could create a safety risk and/or electric shock.

  10. Allow some time for the dirt, cleaning foam, and excess water to run through the coils and into the water collection bag and drain into the bucket.

  11. Now, remove the bag from the air handler and disconnect the drain hose from the bucket.

  12. Dispose of the waste water collected in the bucket.

  13. Remove used Air Freshening Filter. Clean filters with warm soapy (mild detergent), water and gently rinse with fresh water. Shake off any excess water and allow the filters to air dry. Insert new Air Freshening Filter.

  14. Reinstall the filters into the air handler and close the front cover.

  15. If performing these steps on a multi-zone system, repeat each step for each air handler in the system.

  16. Reconnect and turn on the power to the unit.
