Frequently Asked Questions
Can I plug in and play an 8 GB memory stick that is loaded with music?
Yes, you can you can have files other than music and the radio will detect only the music and play it. You can also use a camera memory card and place music on it as well. That is one of the Main reasons for my buy of this great sounding radio. Hope this helps with your research for a USB music player product.
DOES IT HAVE A HEADPHONE JACK?
Yes, it does have a headphone jack.
What is displayed on the LCD screen for navigating thru music on the SD
card? Does it display folder names, artists, albums, song titles, etc?
A Number is associated with each directory, so a horizontal scroll from right to left and displays the Directory number, time count down on song, artists, song title.
Will it play mp3 disc?
It wouldn’t play an mp3 on a disk for me.
Does this play just regular CDs? I have a boatload of those. The description is a bit confusing to me. Sorry if the question seems a bit obvious.
Regular and MP3. You can also use a USB card. I didn`t try out how it works though. I just used it for regular CD
Does it play Cds in MP3 format?
it does. It plays WAV too. But mine sort of skips the end and beginning of some songs. Not sure if it is because of the CD or the unit itself.
Can I adjust treble and bass? I have meditation and other voice CD’s that I
cannot listen to on my portable player as the bass is too deep and voice b.
Not at all. It´s just a basic MP3/CD Player.
Can I adjust treble and bass? I have meditation and other voice CD that I cannot listen to on my portable player as the bass is too deep and voice b
I have some OTR WORLD old-time radio show CD-R’s, and it says mp3 audio disc. It will not play and just says no disc Help?
Mine NAXA plays everything I put in it,mp3, cd, CD-R. try putting your cd-r into your or fiends computer and see if plays, it does make a copy, and try the copy. newer cd record software is better and completes the burn, has to do with write-rewrite and closing the file.
Can this be powered by a 12-volt adapter plug?
I went to my manual to double-check. No adapter plug is mentioned nor is there a designated plug on the unit. The unit is powered either by a standard AC plug-in or 8 “c” batteries for portability. The only two auxiliaries for the player are for headphones and an external sound boost from another media.
Can i use my iPhone with this?
I am not sure because I do not have an iPhone. It has a USB port but I don’t know how the iPhone interface.
Does it always play mp3 songs in same order?
I have 2 of them and one will not play mp3s at all the other one plays them and if you read your directions it will tell you how to make it play the songs randomly. one of the buttons you have to press 3 times tell it says random on the display.
Can this also play a Cassette?
No cassette capability. But works well with CDs and MP3s.
How many and what kind of battery does this stereo use?
The unit does take 8 “C” batteries. They load on the bottom of the unit and there is a diagram on the bottom that shows you how to place the batteries.
Is it possible to play a CD on loop on the same song 24-7 ? This is the
main purpose of buying this boom box.
I’m not sure. I didn’t keep it long enough. It’s very flimsy. I would assume you could. Many players will let you repeat the track.
Can I rip music from a cd to a usb stick or memory card?
I do not believe that this device has this ability. In fact, I’m almost certain that it doesn’t have the ability to record anything, although it does play a number of different devices and formats.
Does the CD have a repeat function so it plays continuously?
The one I have has a repeat button on it.
Can this unit play and shuffle songs from an usb thumb drive?
Yes. The only thing I use is a USB drive it works great. As far as shuffle goes, I haven’t tried so I’m not sure.
What is the max size SD card that can be used with this?
I don’t exactly, but I tested a 2GB, 4GB SD card and a 16GB USB and it work. I no longer have the boom box. It was a gift to my mother so she can listen to old music. I had converted iTunes songs to MP3 format.
How loud is the volume?
It isn’t as loud as I thought it would be. For a smaller room, it is sufficient, but in a larger area it needs to be turned almost all the way up. Of course, a lot of that depends upon the source material. Older CDs are usually less ‘present’ than newer versions of the same album, and the same goes for mp3’s. But regardless, the volume is not as loud as a lot of other players.
Will this play audio cds (not just mp3 CDs)?
I can’t answer that for certain. If you’re referring to audiobook CDs, I don’t have any to test the player with. Most of the audiobooks I have on my computer, though, are mp3s, so I imagine they would play on the Naxa.
Does it has an AUX hole?
Has USB and SD/MMC ports. No AUX that I know of
Can I ff and reverse through a song; and if so, does it display where you are in the song? i.e., 1:30 (one min, 30 sec in), 2:47 (two min, 47 sec in)
It displays where you are in the song, but I don’t see any way to ff or rewind. The forward button takes you to the next song
Does it have a cord so I can plug it into an electrical outlet?
Yes, it does, I always have it plugged in to listen to my music. I really like this player, got one for my Dad to who is in a nursing home and the flashdrive plays for him all night so no one has to keep coming in to change the CD disc.
