Temporary Resin Cement

Product Description

UltraTemp™ REZ II temporary resin cement is a low viscosity, temporary luting/filling material featuring a hydrophilic resin-based formula which is recommended for the retention of provisional restorations or provisional prostheses. UltraTemp REZ II temporary resin cement may also be used for temporary restorative procedures (i.e., provisional crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays). It is available in Fast Set (1 to 2 minutes) and Regular Set (2 to 3 minutes).
For all products described, carefully read and understand all instructions and SDS information prior to use.
Delivery Form(s)

  • 5 ml Dual Barrel Syringe
  • Ultradent Mixing Tip
  •   NOTE: If expressing intraorally, preload a delivery syringe (e.g., 0.5 ml Skini syringe) and use intraoral delivery tip (e.g., Black Mini™ Tip)

Indications for Use/Intended Purpose

For temporization of provisional prosthesis or restorative procedures (i.e., provisional crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays).
Contraindications

  • Do not use on patients with known sensitivities to polyacrylic acid (polycarboxylate).
  • Do not use on patients with a known sensitivity to acrylates or other resins. If allergic reaction, dermatitis, or rash develops, have patient consult  their physician.
  • Do not use UltraTemp REZ II temporary resin cement with peroxide-based chemicals (i.e., walking bleach).
  • For patients or users with allergy concerns, refer to product allergen document available at www.ultradent.com. If allergic reaction is observed, rinse exposed area thoroughly with water and have the patient consult their physician.

Warnings and  Precautions

  • Resins can be sensitizing. Avoid repeated contact of uncured dental resin with eyes, skin, and soft tissue.
  • Avoid cross-contaminating of syringe orifices which could result from repeatedly attaching the same mixing tip.
  • Keep away from eyes. Stepwise Instructions

NOTE: Peroxides will negatively affect the set of UltraTemp REZ II temporary resin cement.
Preparation

  1. Prior to attaching mixing tip, verify uniform flow from both syringe orifices by expressing a small amount onto a mixing pad. Use caution not to crosscontaminate orifices when re-capping syringe.
  2. Attach mixing tip by lining up internal cap stems with syringe orifices. Twist clockwise to lock.
  3. Clean, rinse, and dry preparation.

Use – Temporary Cementation

  1. Express desired amount of UltraTemp REZ II temporary resin cement into provisional.
  2. Seat provisional.
  3. As material sets, remove all excess cement around provisional with a hand instrument.

Use – Temporary Restoration

  1. Preload delivery syringe and firmly attach delivery tip.
  2. Verify flow prior to applying intraorally. If resistance is met, replace tip and recheck.
  3. Express desired amount of UltraTemp REZ II temporary resin cement into preparation.
  4. After complete set, adjust occlusion if necessary.

Cleanup Provisional:

  1. Remove provisional or temporary restoration.
  2. Remove residual cement with hand instrument.
  3. Clean preparation with pumice-type slurry and cup or Ultradent Consepsis™ Scrub chlorhexidine antibacterial slurry with STARbrush™ intercoronal brush.
  4. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cementation.

Processing

For intraoral use (delivery syringe): Delivery syringe and delivery tip are considered single use.
For dual barrel: Not for intraoral use, wipe syringe with an intermediate level disinfectant between uses. Do not remove mixing tip between uses.
Storage and Disposal
Dispose of waste according to local rules, guidelines, and regulations.
Miscellaneous Information
Report any serious incident to the manufacturer and the competent authority.
