Introduction

Thank you for choosing the $3150-8T2F L2+ Switch. This guide is designed to familiarize you with the
layout of the switch and describes how to deploy it in your network

Hardware Overview

Front Panel Ports
Overview

Ports Description
RJ45 10/100/1000BASE-T ports for Ethernet connection
SFP SFP pons for IG connection
CONSOLE An RJ45 console port for serial management

Front Panel LEDs
Overview

LEDs State Description
SYS Solid Green The system is being started up.
Blinking Green The system works well.
Off The system is not working.
PWR Solid Green The switch is powered on.
The switch is powered off.
RJ45 Solid Green The port is running at J 000Mbps.
Solid Orange The port is running at J 0/J 00Mbps.
Off The port is not linked.
SFP Solid Green The port is running at J 000Mbps.
Off The port is not linked.

Front Panel Button
Overview

Button Description
Reset Press the button for 6s to restore the factory default settings.

Installation Requirements

Before the installation, make sure that you have the following condi ready:

  • Phillips screwdriver, related bolts and ESD tools.
  • Standard-sized, 19″ wide rack with a minimum of 1U height available.
  • Category 5e or higher RJ45 Ethernet cables for connecting network devices.

Site Environment

  • Make sure that the temperature of the installation site is maintained at 0°C~50°C.
  • Make sure that the relative humidity of the installation site is maintained at 10%~90%.
  • Theinstallation site must be free from leaking, dripping water, heavy dew, or humidity.
  • Keep the installation site dust-free.
  • Theinstallation site must be well-ventilated. Make sure that there is adequate airflow around the switch.
  • Make sure that the s level and stable to avoid any hazardous conditions.
  • Make sure that the rack and working platforms are well-earthed.

Mounting the Switch

Rack Mounting

  1. Secure the mounting brackets to the two sides of the switch with eight M3 screws.

  2. Install the switch on the rack with four M6 screws and cage nuts.

Desk Mounting

  1. Attach four rubber pads to the bottom.

  2. Place the switch on the desk.

NOTE: Do not place heavy objects on the switch.

Grounding the Switch

  1. Connect one end of the grounding cable to a proper earth ground, such as the rack in which the switch is mounted.

  2. Secure the grounding lug to the grounding point on the back panel of the switch with the screw and washers

CAUTION: The earth connection must not be removed unless all supply connections have been disconnected.

Connecting the RJ45 Ports

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port of a computer, printer, network storage or other network devices.

  2. Connect the other end of the Ethemet cable to the RJ45 port of the switch.

Connecting the SFP Ports

  1. Plug the compatible SFP transceiver into the SFP port.

  2. Connect a fiber optic cable to the fiber transceiver, Then connect the other end of the cable to the other fiber device.

Connecting the Console Port

  1. Insert the RJ45 connector into the R4S console port on the front panel of the switch.

  2. Connect the DB female connector of the console cable to the serial port on the PC.

Connecting the Power

  1. Plug the AC power cord into the power port on the back of the switch.

  2. Connect the other end of the power cord to an AC power source.

WARNING: Do not install the power cord while the power is on.

Configuring the Switch

Configuring the Switch Using the Console Port
Step 1: Connect a computer to the console port of the switch with the console cable.
Step 2 Start the terminal simulation software, such as HyperTerminal on the computer.
Step 3: Set the parameters of the HyperTerminal: Baud rate to 115200, Data bits to 8, Parity to None, and Stopbits to 1

Step 4: After setting the parameters, click Connect to enter.

Troubleshooting

The Power System Is Not Working

  1. Checkif the power cord is connected correctly.
  2. Checkif the power supply of the switch matches the required power supply.

The Port Is Not Linked

  1. heckif the cable is correctly connected.
  2. Checkif the peer connection is normal.
  3. Checkif the power cord is connected correctly.
  4. Checkif the power supply of the switch matches the required power supply.

The Console Port Is Not Working
Check if the console port s set to a baud rate of 9600 bps, eight data bits, no sum check bit, one stop bit and no traffic control.
