General information

Some of the many benefits…
Everyone can benefit from the vestibular input and deep pressure that the HappyBag sensory swing has to offer. Some of the many benefits:

  • The swing creates an embracing feeling. As a result, a child experiences the swing as a safe and private place to unwind.
  • Rocking is challenging for children and contributes to the development and stimulation of the vestibular sensory system.
  • The swing’s unique design offers numerous opportunities for a child to fully indulge, for example, a child can practise balance in a safe but challenging way.
  • The HappyBag helps a child understand his or her body better by improving stimulus processing.

Washing instructions
To clean the HappyBag, we recommend using a damp cloth and mild soap. A fine wash program with cold water is also possible. Then allow to dry by hanging the HappyBag. Do not bleach.

How to install ?

It’s easier than it looks, we promise!

Strangulation hazard.

Warning: For domestic use only. Maximum user weight is 90 kilograms.

  1. Maximum recommended swing height is 60cm (measured from the ground to the bottom of the swing). The swing is intended to hang still and swing gently. Swaying is recommended only when using our 360° Twister (sold separately).

  2. Modifications made by the consumer must be made according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  3. For both indoor and outdoor use. The swing should not be installed over concrete, asphalt or any other hard surface.

  4. Keep the assembly and installation instructions for further reference.

  5. Hang the swing at least 2 feet from any structure or obstacles such as a fence, furniture, clothesline or power lines.

  6. Check that all nuts and bolts are tight and tighten as necessary before use.

  7. Check all parts and fasteners for sharp edges and signs of deterioration. Have replaced if necessary.

  8. Installing the u-hook on the ceiling
1a. Locate a joist in the ceiling. If you have a stud finder, you can use it to spot pipes and properly and accurately determine the location for the joist.
If you don’t have a stud finder, here are some tips for finding the right spot:
In most modern homes, the beams are 40 or 60 cm apart. From the edge of where the wall meets the ceiling, measure out 40 cm and tap on the ceiling. e space between the beams will make a hollow, resonant sound and the beams a shorter, firmer sound.
If the knocking sounds short and firm, you have found a joist. If it sounds hollow, measure 60 cm from the edge of your ceiling and determine if there is a joist there. If not, you can try the other direction of the ceiling because the beams only only run in one direction.
Once you have found a joist, you know how far apart they are and how they are placed you can quickly find the next one by using a tape measure and measuring 40 or 60 cm. Find and choose a joist that is most appropriate for the space you want.
Great work! Now move on to the next page….
Note: Some beams are not wide enough for all four bolts to fit. If this is the case, align at least two of the bolts along the joist, these two bolts will be sufficient to support the HappyBag.

1b. Use the u-hook to measure where to drill the holes. Mark the holes with a marker.
1c. Use an electric drill to drill pilot holes in the ceiling joist where the pencil marks are. Choose a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the bolt. Drill into the mark you have made. This can be slightly deeper than the length of the bolt’s threads. The pre-drilled hole will allow you to easily screw the bolt into the ceiling by hand without it jamming or breaking. If the hole is too wide, the bolt’s thread will have nothing to hold on to. If it is too shallow, it will be difficult to screw the bolt all the way in.
1d. Clean the holes with a brush, vacuum cleaner or by blowing into them. Protect your eyes while removing the dust.
1e. Press the u-hook against the ceiling, aligned with the holes. Then screw the bolts through the u-hook into the drilled hole.
1f. Use a wrench to tighten the bolts.
Note: This step has already been done when you purchased the HappyBag and is therefore no longer necessary! In this case you can proceed to step 3. However, this is useful to know when you, for example, take the swing with you and need to reinstall it.

  9. Attach the Daisy Chain to the HappyBag
2a. Lay the swing flat on the ground. Gather and bunch the long side of the swing’s fabric with the sewn seam and the HappyKido label. Locate the center.
Important: Make absolutely sure that the sewn seam end, with the HappyKido label becomes the top part of the swing.
2b. Now pull one end of the daisy chain through along the bottom to then pull the other end of the daisy chain through the first loop.
2c. Now pull back about 20 cm of fabric. This will provide additional support.
2d. Pull hard on the daisy chain to create a tight knot. This provides a secure attachment and added support while hanging.
Note: See the illustrated instructions on the next page.

  10. Attach the HappyBag to the u-hook
3a. Snap the carabiner to the top loop of the daisy chain.
3b. Connect the carabiner to the u-hook. Important: Lock the carabiner by turning the small mechanism counterclockwise. When the carabiner is fully locked, the opening will remain closed when pressure is applied.
3c. Depending on the height of the ceiling and the space, the swing height can be adjusted. We recommend a maximum swing height of 60 cm (measured from the ground to the bottom of the swing).Happy Kido e Sensory Swing for Kids -

  11. Adjusting the height of the HappyBag
Different hanging heights are possible using the carabiner and daisy chain. Below we explain the best way to do this!
4a. Detach the carabiner from the u-hook and snap it through one of the six other loops of the daisy chain.
4b. Then snap the same carabiner through the u-hook. This will cause the swing to hang higher. Again, the key here is to lock the carabiner by turning the small mechanism counterclockwise. When the carabiner is fully locked, the opening will remain closed when pressure is applied.Happy Kido e Sensory

  12. Using the Swing Twister (sold separately)
It is possible to order the Swing Twister separately via our website. This Twister ensures that the HappyBag can effortlessly rotate 360º without the Daisy Chain getting tangled.
5a. Insert the Daisy Chain through the bottom of the Swing Twister.
5b. Then pull one of the Daisy Chain loops (depending on the hanging height, see step 4) along the top. Now pull the Daisy Chain firmly so that a knot is formed.
5c. Finally, snap the carabiner to the Swing Twister and connect it all to the u-hook. Note here once again: lock the carabiner by turning the small mechanism counterclockwise. When the carabiner is fully locked, the opening will remain closed when pressure is applied.Happy Kido e Sensory Swing for

  13. Test the weight of the HappyBag
Take all the information in this product guide seriously before using the HappyKido sensory swing. Before using the swing, test the weight limit manually to ensure that the swing is installed safely and correctly. Do not use the swing until the assembly and suspension have been tested for safety.
Note: Contact a professional builder, contractor, or experienced installer to see what the best options are for a properly installation of the HappyKido in your situation and ensuring safe use of the swing.
Safety is always the primary concern and should never be taken lightly. HappyKido is not responsible for any injury caused by improper setup and use of the swing.

HappyBag activities

Once you have followed the installation instructions on the previous page and are absolutely sure that the HappyBag is installed correctly and safely, we share our favorite swing activities for you and your child to start using the HappyBag today!
The Superman!
The Superman pose is an excellent way to train upper body strength. Lie flat on your stomach in the swing and start rocking. While swinging, try stretching your arms and legs like Superman. This way, you will train the muscles in your upper body and get extra strong!
Hanging upside down
Hanging upside down is also one of the best activities you can do to train your vestibular system. First, try hanging upside down in the swing and try to get used to your body moving and looking around you. The next step is rocking. This activity is a step up from simply rocking upright. Rocking upside down is super fun and gives a huge thrill and also so is a great way to train your vestibular system.
Just chilling out
Chilling yourself out in the swing is also one of our favourite activities. The sensory swing exerts a constant pressure on your body, this feels like an endless hug that allows you to unwind. For example, read a book in the swing or take a nap.
