Product Description

Maono PD400X USB/XLR dynamic microphone offers great convenience to users who need to use it on a PC/Mac or on traditional audio equipment. The dual outputs design saves investment in gears for podcasters, streamers and other creators who prefers flexible setups. PD400x has a classic broadcast microphone look and feel, but it is packed with state-of-the-art audio technologies that supercharge the content-creating experiences. The unique 3-in-1 smart knob offers controls on microphone gain, headphone volume, and monitor mix, delivering a simple and intuitive user experience. More advanced audio processing features are available in PC/Mac Maono Link software. Software and firmware updates will bring new features and enhanced performance.

Product installation and usage
Attach the microphone to a desktop stand base

Turn the table stand base counterclockwise to install it to microphone.

Attach the microphone to a boom arm

Turn the microphone counterclockwise to install microphone to a boom arm.

Connect the microphone to computers

Connect the microphone to a computer using a USB-C cable. Connect yours headphones to the 3.5mm headphone jack on the microphone if you want to take advantages of real-time monitoring and monitor mix.

Connect the microphone to an audio interface

Connect the microphone to an audio interface with the XLR-XLR cable. Connect headphone to audio interface headphone interface if you need to use a headphone.

• Smart knob

Turn the knob to adjust mic gain, headphone volume and monitor mix. Hold the knob for is to switch modes.

Mode 1: Microphone Gain

When the mic symbol on the left is lit, the smart knob will control the mic gain, and the white LED will show the current mic gain. As you turn the knob, the white LED will light up or off, showing the gain level you are setting.

Press and hold the smart knob for one second to enter headphone volume mode. The mode you will remain until you switch to another mode.

Mode 2: Headphone Volume

When the headphone symbol on the right is lit, the smart knob will control the volume of the microphone headphone volume, and the blue LED shows the current volume. When you turn the knob to adjust the headphone volume, the LED will light up, then go to the level display 3 seconds after releasing the knob.

Press and hold the smart knob for one second to enter monitor mix mode.

Mode 3: Monitor Mix

When both the microphone and headphone symbols are lit, the smart knob will be set to adjust the mix of the microphone monitoring and the computer audio in the headphones. By default, the purple light is centered and you will hear both. Turn to the right, if you want to hear more of your voice and less computer audio. Vice versa, turn to the left if you want to hear more computer audio. Turn all the way left to turn off the microphone monitoring completely.

Note: When entering each adjustment mode without turning the knob, it’ will enter the microphone level display mode after 3 seconds. The indicator will display audio level in real time with green, orange and red LED lights according to the microphone level. During recording, please make sure all the green lights will be on, which indicates a normal audio capture. 7th and 8th orange LED lights indicates overloaded, 9th red lights indicates severe overloaded.

Settings are synced in real time between hardware and software.

Standard

Offers a simple and intuitve set of audio settings and tone tweaking.

Advanced

Offers more advanced audio settings. You can use a combination of EQ, limiter, and compressor to customize your voice.

You can go to the setting menu from the top right corner to check software and firmware updates.

Note: The interface and feature sets of your Maono Link Desktop App may be different since we frequently update the software to introduce new features and improve performance.
