PROFI COOK PC-WKS 1243 Kettle

The Wasserkocher PC-WKS 1243 is an electric kettle that boils water quickly and efficiently. It has a water level display on the inside, and various function keys and programs to choose from. Product Usage Instructions
- Read the instruction manual and safety instructions carefully before using the appliance.
- Unpack the appliance and check the scope of delivery for completeness.
- Place the kettle on a flat surface and plug it in.
- Fill the kettle with fresh, cold water between the MIN and MAX marks on the water level display.
- Choose the desired program by pressing the corresponding function key.
- The display will show the selected program and its status.
- Press the button to start the program.
- The kettle will automatically switch off when the program is complete.
- To interrupt or stop the operation, press the button.
- Always switch off the appliance before removing it from the base.
- Clean the appliance regularly according to the instructions in the manual.

instructions very carefully before using this appliance. Keep these documents,
including the warranty certificate, receipt and, if possible, the box with the
inner packaging in a safe place. If you pass the appliance on to a third

comply with these instructions in order to avoid accidents and prevent damage
to the appliance:

Unpacking the Appliance
- Remove the appliance from its packaging.
- Remove all packaging material, such as foils, filling material, cable ties and cardboard packaging.
- Check the scope of delivery for completeness.
- If the contents of the packaging are incomplete or if damage can be detected, do not operate the appliance. Return it to the dealer immediately.
- There may still be dust or production residues on the appliance. We recommend that you clean the appliance as described under “Cleaning”.

Warnings for the Use of the Appliance
W ARNING: Risk of Burns!
- Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.
- Always make sure that the lid is firmly closed.
- The appliance housing becomes hot during operation, do not touch it and allow the appliance to cool down before putting it away.
CAUTION: Overload!
- If you use extension cables, they should have a cable cross-section of at least 1.5 mm².
- Do not use a multiple socket as this appliance is too powerful.
CAUTION:
Always switch off the appliance before removing it from the base! The
contacts on the base are not suitable for disconnecting the power supply.
Notes for Use
Mains Cable
Unwind the required mains cable completely from the base part of the base.
Please pay attention to the routing of themains cable.
Connected Load
In total, the appliance can handle a power of 2200 W. With this connected
load, a separate supply line with a fuse protection via a 16 A household
circuit breaker is recommended.
Electrical Connection
- Check that the mains voltage you want to use matches that of the appliance. You will find the information on the type plate of the base.
- Only connect the appliance to a properly installed protective contact socket. A signal sounds and the current water temperature is displayed for 5 minutes. The appliance then switches to standby mode.
Function Buttons
The buttons on the appliance are touch keys. Gently touch the buttons with a
finger to execute the function. Whenever a button is pressed, it will be
confirmed by a beep sound.

Preparation
Before using the appliance for the first time, boil it 3 times with fresh
water. Use only clear water without additives.
Use
- Place the appliance on a flat surface.
- Press the button on the handle to open the kettle.
- Fill in clear water through the filler opening (maximum 1.7 litres). You can read the fill level on the water level indicator inside the appliance.
- Always use fresh, cold water.
- The water level must be between the MIN and MAX marks.
- Close the lid. Always make sure that the lid is firmly closed.
- Place the kettle flush on the base.
Operation
Quick Start:
- Press the button. The water is heated to 100 °C.
Program Selection:
- Select a desired program with the button.
- Start the program with the button. The selected program lights up permanently.
- When the temperature is reached, a signal sounds.
- The WARM indicator in the display lights up. The appliance now keeps the temperature stable for 1 hour.
Interrupting / Ending Operation
There are two ways to interrupt or end the cooking process:
- The appliance switches off automatically after the cooking process.
- To end or interrupt the cooking process prematurely, press the button.
- Always switch off the appliance before removing it from the base! The contacts on the base are not suitable for disconnecting the power supply.
- Unplug the mains plug from the socket.
- Empty the water container.
- Only hold the appliance by the handle.
- Keep the lid closed when pouring out.
- Open the lid only with the button on the handle.
- Close the lid by only touching the contact area.
- The appliance becomes hot during operation, do not touch it and allow the appliance to cool down before putting it away.
Cleaning
WARNING:
- Always switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug from the socket before cleaning. Wait until the appliance has cooled down.
- Do not immerse the appliance or the base in water or other liquids. It could cause an electric shock or fire.
CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
- Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Clean the perforated area of the spout from the inside with a nylon brush.
- Rinse the water reservoir with clean water. Dry it with a cloth.
- Clean the housing with a slightly damp cloth after use.
Descaling
- The intervals for descaling depend on the hardness of the water and the frequency of use.
- If the appliance switches off before the water boils, descaling is necessary.
- Do not use vinegar, but a commercially available descaling agent based on citric acid. Dose according to the instructions.
- After descaling, boil fresh water several times (approx. 3 to 4 times) to remove residues. Do not use this water for consumption.
Storage
- Clean the appliance as described and allow it to dry completely.
- We recommend storing the appliance in its original packaging if you do not intend to use it for a long period of time.
- Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in a well-ventilated and dry place.
