NOTE: It is recommended to contact a licensed electrical contractor for installation.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury:

  • Turn off /unplug the lamp and allow it to cool before replacing the bulb.
  • Do not touch the bulb when the fixture is turned on.
  • Do not look directly at the lighted bulb.
  • Keep materials that burn easily away from the lighted bulb.

CLEANING

  • Use only a soft cloth to dust and clean the fixture.
  • Never use chemicals or abrasive cleaners as they may damage the finish.

Installation Instruction

Item No: HSERENAGLD-1PD & HSERENACHR-1PD.

WARNING: To avoid the risk of electrical shock, be sure to shut off power while installing or servicing this fixture.

NOTE: We advise calling a qualified electrician when making the wire connections to the junction box.

WARNING

  1. Shut off the power to the area where you will be working.
  2. Use 60Watt maximum type B bulb.
  3. Do not use polish or cleaner on the fixture. Wipe with a soft cloth

STEP 1 – UNPACK

  1. Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all the parts on a clean surface.

STEP 2 – CHANDELIER ASSEMBLY

  1. The fixture is fully assembled.
  2. Screw the bulb (not included) into the socket.

THERE ARE 2 WAYS TO INSTALL THIS CHANDELIER: PORTABLE WIRE (STEP 3) OR FIXED WIRE (STEP 4) FOR FIXED WIRE INSTALLATION, WE ADVISE CALLING A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN WHEN MAKING THE WIRE CONNECTIONS TO THE JUNCTION BOX.

STEP 3 – PORTABLE WIRE INSTALLATION
NOTE: Cut off the fixture copper ground wire.
Installation should not be made on a radiant-heating ceiling. The hooks are to engage the chain only and not the electric wire.

  • A: INSTALL HOOKS (PACKET INCLUDES TWO HOOKS)

For plaster or plasterboard ceilings

  1. Drill a hole in the ceiling the same diameter as the closed flaps of the toggle bolt (A)
  2. Insert flaps and bolt into the ceiling with the toggle boll protruding through the ceiling. Lock the assembly by threading on the hook as shown.
  3. Drape your chain on the second hook or let it hang straight.

For wood or acoustic board ceilings: (min size is 1-1 /2″ thick)

  1. Select a place on the ceiling where a wood beam exists.
  2. Thread the steel screw (B) into a hook (C)
  3. Screw the assembly into the wood beam.
  4. Drape your chain on the second hook or let it hang straight.
  • B. ATTACH THE CHANDELIER TO THE CHAIN
  1. Open the lock link (K1), connect to the fixture loop (J) and chain link, and close the lock link (K1).
  2. Once the chain and wire are connected, plug the wire plug into the household electrical outlet.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

This portable lamp has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other.) As a safety feature, this plug will fit a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted. Do not attempt to disable this safety feature.

STEP4 – FIX WIRE INSTALLATION
NOTE: We advise contacting a qualified electrician for this step.

  1. Thread nipple (C) into loop (F) until snug.
  2. Thread the other end of the nipple (C) with the loop attached to the crossbar (D) until snug.
  3. Place lock washer (B) over the end of nipple protruding through crossbar and thread hex nut (A) onto nipple until tight.
  4. Take this crossbar assembly and mount it to a ceiling junction box with junction box threads (E), tighten the thread securely with a screwdriver.
  5. Open the lock link (K1 ), connect to the fixture loop (J) and chain link, and close the lock link (K1).
  6. Lace the fixture wires through the chain. Slip loop collar (H) over the chain, then do the same with canopy (G).
  7. Open the end link (K) of the chain and hang the fixture on the loop (F), and close the link (K).
  8. Cut the wire plug off. Feed the fixture wires through the loop (F), and nipple (C) and pull until taut.
  9. Connect the fixture wire to the wire from the junction box with wire connectors. See the paragraph below.
  10. Push canopy (G) up against the ceiling and secure with loop collar (H).

WIRE CONNECTION

FOR WIRE CONNECTION BE SURE TO CONNECT: THE FIXTURE SMOOTH WIRE TO THE BLACK HOUSE WIRE; THE FIXTURE RIBBED WIRE TO THE WHITE HOUSE WIRE; AND THE FIXTURE GROUND WIRE TO SUPPLY GROUND WIRE WITH WIRE CONNECTORS OR THE FIXTURE GROUND WIRE TO THE GREEN GROUND SCREW ON THE MOUNTING BRACKET.

1-Year Limited Warranty

“Limited” Warranty Program

  • For a period of one (1) year after purchase, Hanover Products (“Manufacturer”) will either repair or replace defective components in accordance with this Limited Warranty.
  • Sales and use taxes, plus shipping and handling charges are the responsibility of the consumer.
  • This warranty is between the Manufacturer and the original purchaser and is valid only when accompanied by the original purchaser’s sales receipt showing the original date of purchase and location of purchase.
  • Replacements under this warranty revert back to the date of original purchase for future warranty.
  • The manufacturer or its authorized dealer can accept or reject warranty claims based on its findings.
  • This warranty applies in normal residential use only, where an issue with the product is due to a defect in material or workmanship.
  • Manufacturer can make substitutions as required of materials, components, and sub-components of comparable value and utility.
  • This warranty is limited to product repair or replacement (to be determined solely by Manufacturer). Warranty return is limited to only the single affected component.
  • This warranty covers only manufacturing defects and does not cover normal wear and tear, abuse, or misuse, including water damage, chemical damage, exposure to extreme heat or cold, or abrasion.
  • This warranty is invalid if the product is not used for the intended purpose.
  • The manufacturer disclaims liability for any aspect of installation and any inconvenience caused by a defective part of a component.

Certain items are not covered by this warranty. These include, but are not limited to the following

  1. Components subjected to abuse, including abuse intended to simulate failure.
  2. Damages caused by retailer, shipper, or installation crew (such as scratches, dents, tears, breaks, etc.).
  3. Any part which merely exhibits normal wear yet functions essentially as new.

To make a claim, send a copy of the original sales receipt along with a brief description of the problem to the email address below. Please include your email address and daytime telephone or cell phone #. All items will be charged actual freight costs plus $15 for handling. Repairs or replacements will be made at the Manufacturer’s option.

THIS IS THE ENTIRE EXCLUSIVE EXPRESS LIMITED LIABILITY. THE MANUFACTURER NEITHER MAKES NOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THOSE OF RETAILING DEALERS. THIS EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IS LIMITED TO THE RECEIPT OF A CREDIT IN CONNECTION WITH THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY PRODUCT OR COMPONENT DEEMED TO BE DEFECTIVE UNDER THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS STATED IN THIS WARRANTY. NEITHER AF LIGHTING, THE PRODUCT MANUFACTURER NOR ITS AGENTS SHALL BE LIABLE IN ANY CASE FOR INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT OR ARISING OUT OF ANY BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY OR NEGLIGENCE EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
