Overview
S3260-16T4FP is a next-genaration intelligent access switch launched for
carrier’s IP MAN and enterprise networks. It is equipped with 16x
10/100/1000BASE-T, 2x RJ45/SFP combo ports and 2x SFP uplinks and delivers a
compact, cost-effective solution based on the high-performance hardware and
FSOS platform. Supporting functions such as ACL, QinQ and QoS, its simple
management mode and flexible installation can meet the requirement of any
complicated scenarios.
SMB Power Supply Solution Case Study
Background
The client company has total of 2 floors, each floor has about 6-10 offices or meeting rooms and 5 different size of public office areas. This solution design needs to meet requiremnts of about 300 computers and umpty wireless access devices connected to the network. He planned to set up an office local area network to provide employees with a secure network office environment, which can achieve security isolation between different business departments according to business needs and ensure information security
Challenge
- The office network must be able to prevent external network hacker attacks, and to a certain extent, can defend against common DOS attacks, ARP attacks, and MAC / IP address spoofing attacks in office LANs.
- The system needs to be easy to maintain and manage, and the monitoring staff can grasp the running status of the system at any time through asimple interface.
- The bandwidth is relatively limited so devices must have basic traffic management functions to avoid network congestion.
- The APs should support unified management to facilitate later maintenance.
Solution Topology
Solution Description
In this solution, all terminal equipment is connected to the PoE+ switch S3260-16T4FP through network cable to obtain power and data, and transmitted to the customer company’s computer room. It is highly integrated, reducing the need for terminal equipment, saving costs, and reducing wiring complexity.
Secondly, the plan fully considers the subsequent expansion. The PoE+ switch S3260-16T4FP in the network can be expanded at any time, highperformance core switch S5850-24T16S is used in conjunction with AC to implement AP centralized control management for customers, which can provide full expansion capabilities for the customer company’s future development.
Stack: S3900-48T4S switches at the access layer are stacked on top of each other. By adding member switches, can easily expandthe number of ports, bandwidth, and process capacity of the stacking system.
LACP: Configuring link aggregation between the S5850-24T16S switch at the aggregation layer and the S3260 16T4FP switch at the access layer can improve link availability, effectively avoid network interruption caused by single fiber failure, and increase link capacity.
