Thank you for choosing the FitWood KUMPU Montessori bookshelf. Please read this manual carefully before installation and follow each step closely to ensure the safe use of the product. Read all instructions and follow assembly instructions carefully before using
the product. FitWood shall not be responsible for injury or damage caused by
neglect of instructions contained in this manual or FitWood’s website,
incorrectly following instructions or misuse of the product. The warranty
covers only defects in the product, in which case the defective product or its
parts are primarily replaced with a new one. The warranty does not cover
damage caused by misuse, adverse conditions for product materials, or natural
wear and tear. FitWood shall never be responsible for consequential damages
arising from the use of the product, defective or broken product, and
FitWood’s liability is limited to repairing or replacing the faulty product.

Assembly instructions
Always screw the screws slowly. The material is wood and can split with excessive force. When all the screws are in place, check that they are correctly tightened.
- Assembly of this product requires two people.
- Assemble the bookshelf on a soft surface, such as cardboard or a carpet.
- Remove all packaging material before assembly.
- Arrange all parts in advance and make sure you have all the necessary parts
Boards and their positions
The product includes five different kinds of straight boards. Follow the
assembly instructions carefully to ensure the boards are properly inserted and
placed in their correct positions.
Note! Only some of the boards have rounded edges. To ensure the safe use
of the product, it is important to insert rounded edges in their correct
positions.
- Front board (small, rounded edges)
- Shelf board (one large, rounded edge, screw-mounted)
- Backboard (small, rounded edges on the other side)
- Tabletop (small rounded edges on the other side, screw-mounted)
- Seat board (the board has a logo, all edges are rounded, screw-mounted)
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
Step 1
Place all parts on a carpet or other soft surface, and make sure you have
all the necessary parts and tools. Assembly of this product requires two
people.
Step 2
Place wooden dowels on both ends of all of the straight boards. Attach the
dowels in their holes on the board using a hammer. Make sure you can press the
dowels all the way down, so they are level with each other.
Step 3
Take all the screw-mounted boards (shelf board no. 2, tabletop no. 4, and seat
board no. 5) and the other curved headboard and screw them on. Support the
table top and seat board during installation.
Step 4
Place the headboard with the connected boards on a carpet with the straight
boards facing the ceiling. Line up the rest of the straight boards (front
board no. 1 and backboard no. 3) with the wooden dowels attached to them and
press them firmly into place.
Step 5
Place the second headboard on top of the straight boards, align and press
the wooden dowels on the straight board into the holes on the headboard. Start
with the shelf boards (boards no. 1, 2 & 3). Once the headboard is in place,
press it firmly against the straight board and screw the rest of the screws
into place. Ensure there are no gaps between the boards and tighten the screws
if necessary.
Step 6
Turn the bookshelf the right way up and tighten all the screws once more to
the proper tightness. Finally, place the cover stickers on the tightened
screws. The Montessori bookshelf is now ready to use.
Safety and maintenance instructions
- Age recommendation: 1 to 9 years.
- Weight limit: 80 kg.
- This product is for indoor use only. Avoid contact with water, as it may cause damage to the wood.
Inspect the product periodically and tighten the screws if necessary. Ensure the product is not damaged and is still safe to use. If in doubt about the safety of the product, please get in touch with the seller. Clean the product with a soft, clean cloth. Avoid chemicals and cleaners.
Warranty
This product is eligible for FitWood’s general warranty conditions: TWO (2) years in private home use. ONE (1) year in partial or full commercial use. Changes to the product and installation of accessories must always be done in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. The warranty does not cover damage caused by changes to the product not approved by the manufacturer or the use of incorrectly installed accessories or accessories not supplied by the manufacturer. You can get spare parts for our product even after the warranty period has expired.
