Safety
precautions
To reduce the risk of electric shock, injury, fire, loss of life, and damage
to property, always observe the following safety precautions.
Explanation of symbols
The following symbols are used to classify and describe the level of hazard,
injury, and property damage caused when the denotation is disregarded and
improper use is performed.

Denotes a hazard that could result in minor injury or property damage.
The following symbols are used to classify and describe the type of instructions to be observed.

The illustrations in the safety precautions may differ from the actual item.
WARNING
- This product
Never modify, disassemble, or repair.
- Doing so may cause ignition or injury due to abnormal operation.
Contact an authorized service center for repair.
Do not use the appliance with a wet hand.
- Doing so may cause electric shock or fire due to a short circuit.
- Do not store the appliance in a bathroom or location with high humidity. Also, do not place in a location where water may spill (such as top of a vanity).

- Do not apply any skincare products such as hair conditioner, hair liquid and hair oil directly on the appliance, or use the comb as a hair washing tool. – Doing so may cause an electric shock.

In case of an abnormality or malfunction
Immediately stop using if there is an abnormality or malfunction.

Preventing accidents

Never use the appliance for any purpose other than hair dressing. Do not use the appliance on a pet.

- The battery
Do not throw into fire or disassembly. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
- Doing so may cause a burn or injury.
Always follow the precautions printed on the battery. Check the polarity of the battery (+ and -) and install it correctly. Remove the battery immediately and dispose of it safely when it is discharged. Remove the battery when not using the appliance for an extended period of time. Please use the battery by the recommended use-by date. Non-rechargeable battery is not to be recharged.
- Failure to do so may cause overheating or explosion of the battery, injury or contamination of surroundings due to leakage.

To remove and install the comb brush
To remove
As shown in the figure, while sliding the brush release button ( B ) towards
the ion outlet for removing the brush pad ( D), lift the brush pad and remove
it.
To
install
As shown in the figure, put together the extruding part on the lower part of
the brush pad and the recessing part of the main body until a “click” is
heard, which means the brush pad has been fixed.
To install and remove the battery
Before removing the battery cover, confirm that the power is off. To install

Remove the battery cover.

Insert 1 LR03 (AAA Alkaline Battery).
- Insert the battery as per the correct polarity (poles “+” and “-”).

Mount the battery cover.
- As shown in the figure, push the battery cover until it clicks to confirm that the cover is completely mounted.
To remove
- Press down the “+” pole of the battery.
- Remove the battery when the “-” pole of the battery bounces up.
NOTES:
- With the Panasonic LR03 (AAA Alkaline Battery) installed, this unit can be used for 2 weeks (once a day for 5 minutes).
- Only use LR03 (AAA Alkaline Batteries).
- Please discard the used battery properly.
To use the ion brush
- Remove the protective cap ( H ).
- Turn the power on by sliding over the power switch ( F ); the Ion lamp ( E ) will light.
- Hold the main body with your hand and comb your hair.
- Turn the power off by sliding the power switch ( F ); the Ion lamp ( E ) will go out.
- Mount the protective cap.
How to best use your ion brush

Before combing with the ion brush:
- If the hair is dry, slightly wet the hair.
- After washing the hair, dry the hair with a towel or blow the hair with a hair dryer until the hair is 70 % dry.
- Never over-dry the hair; otherwise, the effect of ion brush will not be obvious.

Comb down slowly from the root of the hair.
- For those with medium or long hair, the optimal combing time is 3 minutes.
- Over-combing may make the hair look flat.
NOTES:
- There will be a peculiar smell while generating ions, which is harmless to physical health.
- Do not keep the ion brush in the sunlight for long; otherwise, the ultraviolet rays may make the brush pad aged or loose flexibility.
- Do not blow the brush with an electric hair drier for long, because high temperatures will damage the brush.
About ion
Ions are particles that combine negatively charged oxygen and moisture in the
air, and cannot be seen through the naked eye. (Ion generation method: High-
voltage discharge)
Notes
- You may notice a specific odor when using this product. This is not harmful to the human body.
- The effects of ion might not be felt by the following people. People with crimpy hair, strong curly hair, very smooth hair, short hair, or who have had a hair straightening perm in the last three or four months.
Maintenance
There are two ways of cleaning:
- Wipe with a wet cloth.
- Wipe the brush with a clean, wet cloth; use cotton balls dampened with water to wipe the brush pad until it’ s clean, and dry it in a shady place.

The main body cannot be washed with water.

The brush pad can be washed with water as described below:

a. The brush pad must be removed before cleaning.

b. Totally remove any hair wound around the brush. It can be washed with water, but prevent water from entering the air bleeder.

c. If water enters the air bleeder, place the unit with the air bleeder facing downwards to let the water flow out of the air bleeder; naturally dry it and avoid placing it in a humid environment.

d. Do not clean the ion brush with diluents, thinner benzine or alcohol; otherwise, this may cause component failure, damage or color fading. Please clean it with neutral cleanser.
PRECAUTION:
The brush cannot be mounted onto the main body for use until it is totally
dried. Otherwise, personal injury may be caused by possible short circuit or
heating.
Maintenance of the ion outlet:
- In order to prolong the life of ion, please regularly clean the ion outlet (once every month).
- Before cleaning, confirm that the battery and brush are removed.
- Use a commercially available cotton ball to wipe the central part deep (about 10 mm) in the ion outlet ( A ) for 5 times.
- We suggest you use fine cotton ball meant for infants.
