Read this operating manual through carefully, observing all the information contained regarding handling and using the laminator. Keep the operating manual close by for future reference.

Intended Use

The laminator has been conceived to complete hot lamination using hot laminating pouches and cold lamination using cold laminating pouches with a pouch thickness of 75 – 125 micron. The total thickness of the documents to be laminated (photos, pictures, cards, paper etc.) may be maximally 0.5 mm.
The laminator is only intended for private use in closed, indoor rooms.
Unauthorized modifications or alterations are not permitted. Never open the laminator yourself or attempt to perform repairs yourself. Repairs may only be carried out by properly trained specialists.
Any other use is considered unintended use. Unauthorized modifications or reconstructions are not permitted and lead to loss of rights to claims under the terms of guarantee.

Observe the Safety Information

Read and observe all the warnings to protect yourself and the environment from any harm.

Warning!
Risk of injury through electric shock. Improper handling of the laminator can lead to an electric shock. Ensure that the laminator is set up near an easily accessible power socket so that the laminator can be disconnected from the power supply in an emergency. Never take hold of the laminator with wet hands. Avoid any contact with water.
Always unplug the power plug when the laminator is not being used. Only use the power cable supplied.

Warning!
Risk of suffocation through
small parts, packaging materials or protective foils.
Children can swallow small parts, packaging materials and protective foils.
Keep children away from the laminator and its packaging materials.

Warning!
Risk of injury through the feed mechanism. Loose items could get caught in the insertion slot and cause injuries. Keep fingers, hair, scarves, ties, jewellery etc. well away from the infeed.

Warning!
Risk of tripping due to improperly laid power cable.
Lay the power cable in such a way that nobody can trip over it. Make sure the power plug and cable cannot be damaged.

Warning!
Risk to health through harmful vapours. Vapours which are damaging to health can develop during lamination. Always ensure good ventilation during lamination, by opening a window for example.

Caution!
Risk of burns through hot machine surface! During the laminating process, the machine surface heats up. Do not touch the machine surface during the laminating operation. Wait a few minutes after laminating until the laminator has cooled down before you touch it.

Caution!
Risk of burns through hot laminating pouch. When the laminating pouch is ejected after lamination, it is extremely hot. Only remove the lamination pouch by holding it at the cooled end.

Caution!
Risk of burns through hot residual laminated material. After cleaning, very hot residual laminated material is stuck to the ejected paper. Only remove the ejected paper holding it at the cooled end.

Important!
Risk of property damage.
Avoid exposing the device to environmental influences such as smoke, dust, vibration, chemicals, moisture, heat or direct sunlight. Only use the laminator in indoor areas and within the ambient conditions permitted and stipulated in “Technical Data”.

Only use the product indoors.

Symbol The symbol indicates that the design of the product complies with Protection Class II (double insulation). A safety connection to the electrical earthing (ground) is not necessary.

The «Geprüfte Sicherheit» mark (GS tested safety mark) certifies that the product satisfies the requirements defined by the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG).
The GS tested safety mark indicates that when implemented for its intended use and in the event of foreseeable misuse the identified product will not endanger the safety and health of the user. It concerns a voluntary safety mark which was issued by an authorized testing institute.

The laminator can be used by children from the age of eight and by persons with restricted physical, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge when they are under supervision or have been instructed on the safe use of the laminator and understand the risks involved if it is not used properly. Do not let children play with the laminator. Children must not be allowed to complete any cleaning or service work on the device without adequate supervision.

Checking the Package Contents

Check the package contents of the laminator before putting the laminator into operation.
If anything is missing or damaged, do not put the laminator into operation. Contact our Service department.

Pressing one of the function keys is accompanied by an acoustic signal, the respective status LED indicates the current status.

Positioning and Starting Up the Laminator

The following section should help when starting up the laminator.

Set the laminator down on a level, stable working surface close to an easily accessible power socket.
Switch the power switch (4) to OFF.
Only use the power cable supplied.
Connect the power cable to the connection socket (3) in the laminator.
Connect the power plug on the power cable to a power socket.
Switch the power switch (4) to ON.
The laminator confirms the action with an acoustic signal.
Press the button (9) to switch the laminator on.
The transport rollers start to rotate.
The button (7) lights up BLUE.
Fold out the pouch tray (1).
The laminator has been put into operation.

Before You Start

Please observe the following information to ensure continued reliable operation of the laminator.

Information on the Material

Do not laminate metal, wet or uneven materials.
The material to be laminated, including the laminating pouch, must not be thicker than 0.5 mm.

Information on the Laminating Pouches

Only use foil pouches intended for lamination purposes.
Other types of foil, such as transparent film, are not suitable for laminating.
Only use hot laminating pouches for “Hot laminating” operating mode.
Only use cold laminating pouches for “Cold laminating” operating mode.

Information on the Laminating Process

Do not insert an empty laminating pouch in the infeed (rear) of the laminator.
Do not insert a laminating pouch to one side of the infeed (rear) of the laminator.
Always insert the laminating pouch with the closed side first, centered and straight into the infeed (rear) of the laminator, which is ready to operate.

Please remember that hot laminated materials are permanently bonded to the laminating pouch and cannot be separated from the foil again without possible damage.

Operating the Laminator

The following section describes how to complete hot lamination and cold lamination.

If the laminator is not used for a period of 30 minutes, the laminator enters Standby mode.
The three operating mode buttons fl ash BLUE.
Press one of the fl ashing buttons so that the laminator is ready to operate again or press the button (9) to switch the laminator off .

Select the operating mode required by pressing one of the following buttons:
button (5) for hot lamination, 75/80 micron.
button (6) for hot lamination, 125 micron.
button (7) for cold lamination at 75/80 or 125 micron.
Hot laminating: The selected button fl ashes BLUE during the warm-up phase (approx. 1 minutes) and lights up BLUE continually on reaching the operating temperature.
If the laminator was previously used in “Hot laminating” mode, the button (7) fl ashes BLUE. The laminator must be allowed to cool down for approx. 30 minutes before it is ready to operate.
Cold laminating: The selected button lights up BLUE
The laminator is ready for operation.
Caution!
Risk of burns through hot machine surface!
The laminator heats up during hot lamination. Do not touch the device surface during operation.
Place the material to be laminated inside the laminating pouch.
For the best results, leave a space of 3 mm to 5 mm at the margin on all sides.
Insert the laminating pouch in the infeed (rear) of the laminator when ready to operate.

The laminating pouch is drawn in and discharged on the output side (front) of the laminator.
Caution!
Risk of burns through hot laminating pouch.
When the laminating pouch is ejected after lamination, it is extremely hot.
Only remove the ejected lamination pouch holding it at the cooled end.
Remove the laminating pouch from the laminator.
Press the button (9) to switch the laminator off .
The lamination process has been completed.
Caution!
Risk of burns through hot machine surface!
Wait a few minutes after switching off until the laminator has cooled down before you touch it.

Ending Operation of the Laminator

Switch the laminator off when you want to stop using the laminator.

Switch the power switch (4) to OFF.
Disconnect the power plug from the power socket.
Disconnect the power cable from the socket.
Fold the pouch tray (1) back up.

Operation of the laminator has been ended.
