Refrigerant Charging Scale
Wey-TEK Refrigerant Charging Scale
Wey-TEK has few controls to allow easy operation. See the diagram on the back
page for the location of items on the scale.
A Communication Cable: Connects the weigh platform and the control hand
piece. Insert one end of the cable into each component. The cable clicks when
secure.
B Battery : Wey-TEK operates on a 9 volt alkaline battery. Install the
battery by sliding open the access door in the back of the control hand piece
and snapping it onto the
connector.
C ON/OFF Button : Long-press the button to turn Wey-TEK on or off. When
turned on, Wey-TEK steps through an initialization test and displays the
firmware version.
D Unit Selection Button: Wey-TEK displays weight measurements in pounds
(XXX.XX lb), pounds and ounces (XXX lb XX.XX oz) or kilograms (XXX.XX kg).
Push to toggle between units.
E Tare (Zero) Button: Press to manually zero the reading at any time during
operation.
NOTE: When first turned on, Wey-TEK automatically zeros.
F Display: Indicates how much weight has been placed on or taken off the weigh
platform.
The display shows positive and negative values. If the scale goes over its
weight limit, Over Range is displayed. When the battery becomes low, Low
Battery is displayed
(steady at first but flashing when the scale is about to shut off). When the
battery power is too low to get an accurate reading, only Change Battery
displays. If the scale cannot auto zero because maximum weight is exceeded
during initialization, Remove Weight is displayed.
Auto Shut-off: To extend battery life, Wey-TEK shuts off if the weight reading
does not change for more than 30 minutes. When restarted after an auto shut
off, Wey-TEK
automatically zeros. This feature can be disabled using the following
procedure: For firmware versions 1.01 or 1.02: With the scale off, press and
hold the zero button and the unit selection button at the same time. While
holding these two buttons, long-press the on/off button. The scale powers on
and displays INFICON Wey-TEK version X.XX briefly, then displays a weight
reading with TEST MODE below it.
For firmware version 1.03 or higher: With the scale off, hold the unit
selection button and long-press the power button. The scale powers on and
displays INFICON Wey-TEK version X.XX briefly, then displays a weight reading
with TEST MODE below it.
All remaining instructions are the same regardless of firmware version.
- Press the unit selection button to toggle through the test mode options. The third option shows AUTO OFF = YES.
- Quickly press the button once. AUTO OFF = NO is displayed.
- Press and hold the zero button to save and exit test mode. Auto shut-off is now disabled.
To enable auto shut-off, repeat the procedure and change the setting to display AUTO OFF = YES.
