Product Information

The Baratza Brew Grinder is an electric coffee grinder designed for home use. It has a hopper that can hold up to 8 ounces of coffee beans, and a grounds bin that can hold up to 5 ounces of ground coffee. The grinder has both micro and macro adjustment levers to adjust the grind size, and comes with three preset grind settings. It also has weight and time modes for precise grinding, and a manual mode for continuous grinding.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Remove all packaging materials and wash the hopper lid, hopper, and grounds bin with warm soapy water. Let air dry or dry with a clean cloth.
  2. Place the hopper on top of the grinder with the shutoff knob pointing towards the back left of the grinder. Push down and rotate the hopper clockwise to center the shutoff knob and lock the hopper into place.
  3. Plug in the grinder.
  4. Insert the grounds bin on the scale platform.
  5. Adjust the grind size using the micro and macro adjustment levers according to recipe requirements or taste preferences using the Grind Settings Chart.
  6. Add coffee beans to the hopper, making sure that the bean shut-off knob is in the open position with ‘OPEN’ facing up.
  7. Select either weight or time mode using the weight mode or time mode button.
  8. If using weight mode, hold down the weight mode button to zero the scale for first use.
  9. Select a preset or select manual mode, then press the start button to grind. Presets 1, 2, and 3 set the grinder to run to a designated weight or time and can be adjusted with the up/down arrows and saved by pressing and holding the numbered button for the preset you would like to change. Manual mode allows the grinder to run continuously after start is pressed until stop is pressed, 120 grams is reached if using weight mode, or 60 seconds is reached if using time mode.

SETUP

  1. Remove everything from the packaging and hand wash the lid (1), hopper (2) and grounds bin (6) with warm soapy water. Let air dry or dry with clean cloth.
  2. With the hopper (2) upright and the shut-off knob (3) pointing toward the back left of the grinder, place the hopper on top of the grinder and find the point where it settles into place. Push down and rotate the hopper clockwise to center the shut-off knob and lock the hopper into place.
  3. Plug in the grinder.
  4. Insert the grounds bin (6). It will rest on the scale platform (7)
  5. Reference the Grind Settings Chart below and move the lever knobs (4 & 5) up or down to set the grind size.
  6. Add beans to the hopper (2). Ensure bean shut-off knob (3) is in the open position. “OPEN” should be facing up.
  7. Select either weight (10) or time (11) mode.
  8. If using the grinder in weight mode, hold down the weight mode button (10) to zero the scale for first use.
  9. Select a preset (13) or select manual mode (12), then press Start (9) to grind.

Presets 1, 2 and 3 (13) set the grinder to run to a designated weight or time.
