Product Information

The product is a collapsible ladder that can be extended to full  length or any intermediate length. It comes with a locking mechanism that locks every rung with two steel locking pins that automatically spring into place when the ladder is opened to the correct position. Each locking pin is connected to a locking lever to indicate the locking status. The ladder also has a stabilizer on the foot if provided.

Working Height

The collapsible ladder can be extended from a compact format to either full length or any intermediate length.

Locking Mechanism

The collapsible ladder locks every rung with two steel locking pins that automatically spring into place when the ladder is opened (extended) to the correct position. Each locking pin is connected to a locking lever to indicate the locking status. The locking levers drop down at an angle of 60 degrees or the sliding locking levers are against to the end of the rung means the locking pins are engaged. Otherwise means the locking pins are released.

Usage Instructions

Before using the telescopic ladder, read the instructions carefully and ensure that the ladder is suitable for the respective job. Carry out a risk assessment considering the legal requirements in the country of use before using a ladder for work. Check the following points before using the ladder:

  • The ladder must be used in combination with the stabilizer on the foot if provided.
  • Check that the collapsible tubes/legs (upright parts)/rungs/top bar/support foot are not bent, curved, distorted, dented, cracked, corroded or decaying.
  • Check that fastenings (usually rivets, screws, bolts) are not missing or loose or corroded.
  • Check that the collapsible tubes/legs/rungs/top bar/support foot are not missing or loose, worn down, corroded or damaged.
  • Check that the locking mechanisms and locking indicators function correctly, are not missing or loose, worn down, corroded or damaged and that the rung elements lock correctly.
  • Check that no rubber feet or top caps are missing or loose, worn down, corroded or damaged.
  • Check if the locking indicators are functioning and visible.
  • Check the brackets for cracks and other defects such as broken parts.
  • Make sure that there is no relative movement between the support beams and the rungs/steps.

Note: If any of the examinations described above produces an unsatisfactory result, you should NOT use the ladder!

Opening the Ladder

To open the collapsible ladder to full length, proceed as follows:

  1. The ladder is opened to its full length by placing it on a firm level surface. During opening, stabilize the ladder with one foot placed on the lowest rung.

  2. Open the ladder from the top by gripping the top rung with both hands. Extend the top section fully, then the next section fully.
    At the same time check that both locking levers are in its locked position.

  3. Continue opening section by section, until the ladder is opened to its full length.

Closing the Ladder

When closing, please press the left and right side of the One-key switch respectively, and then the step will slowly descend to close.

Easy to open
Please pull up the steps one by one until you hear a click,which indicating that the switch of the ladder step is locked.

When closing, Please press the left and right side of the One-key switch respectively,and then the step will slowly descend to close.

General Information

This user manual accompanies this aluminum telescopic ladder. It contains important information about safety and use.
Before using the ladder, read the user manual carefully. This particularly applies to the safety instructions. Failure to heed this user manual may result in severe injury or damage to the ladder.
The user manual is based on the standards and rules in force in the European Union. When abroad, you must also observe country-specific guidelines and laws.
Store the user manual for future use. If you pass the ladder on to third parties, please be absolutely sure to include this user manual.

  • Working height
    The collapsible ladder can be extended from a compact format (fig.1) to either full length (fig.2) or any intermediate length (fig.3).

  • Locking mechanism
    The collapsible ladder locks every rung with two steel locking pins that automatically spring into place when the ladder is opened (extended) to the correct position.
    Each locking pin is connected to a locking lever to indicate the locking status
    The locking levers drop down at an angle of 60 degrees or the sliding locking levers are against to the end of the rung means the locking pins are engaged (fig.4).
    Otherwise means the locking pins are released. (fig.5)

Read carefully before using
  • Ensure that the ladder is suitable for the respective job;

  • Carry out a risk assessment considering the legal requirements in the country of use before using a ladder for work.

  • The ladder must be used in combination with the stabilizer on the foot if provided.

  • Check that the collapsible tubes/legs (upright parts) / rungs / top bar/support foot are not bent, curved, distorted, dented, cracked, corroded or decaying.

  • Check that the fixation points with other parts on the collapsible tubes/legs / rungs/ top bar/support foot are in good condition.

  • Check that fastenings (usually rivets, screws, bolts) are not missing or loose or corroded.

  • Check that the collapsible tubes/legs/rungs / top bar/support foot are not missing or loose, worn down, corroded or damaged.

  • Check that the locking mechanisms and locking indicators function correctly, are not missing or loose, worn down, corroded or damaged and that the rung elements lock
    correctly.

  • Check that no rubber feet or top caps are missing or loose, worn down, corroded or damaged

  • Check if the locking indicators are functioning and visible.

  • Check the brackets for cracks and other defects such as broken parts.

  • Make sure that there is no relative movement between the support beams and the rungs/ steps.

NOTE!
The points are need to be examined before using the telescopic Ladder. If any of the examinations described above produces an unsatisfactory result you should NOT use the ladder!

Opening the Ladder

Full length
To open the collapsible ladder to full length, proceed as follows:

  1. The ladder is opened to its full length by placing it on a firm level surface. During opening, stabilize the ladder with one foot placed on the lowest rung (fig6).
  2. Open the ladder from the top by gripping the top rung with both hands. Extend the top section fully, then the next section fully. At the same time check that both locking levers are in its locked position (fig.4).
  3. Continue opening section by section, until the ladder is opened to its full length (fig.2).
    NOTE! Check carefully that each locking lever be in its locked position.

Intermediate length
To open the collapsible ladder to any intermediate length, proceed as follows:

  1. The ladder is opened to intermediate length by placing it on a firm level surface. During opening, stabilize the ladder with one foot placed on the lowest rung (fig8).
  2. Leave some steps from the top as a group that is not to be opened, gripping the middle step with both hands. Extend its section fully, then the next section fully. At the same time check that both locking levers are in its locked position (fig.4).
  3. Continue opening section by section, until the ladder to the desired length, all the rest sections should be opened completely (fig.9).
    NOTE! Check carefully that each locking lever be in its locked position.

Closing the Ladder
To closing the collapsible ladder, proceed as follows:

  1. Clean the ladder if required.
  2. Hold the ladder upright in such a way that you do not catch your fingers when you close the ladder:
  3. Unlock and close the ladder from the bottom: begin by releasing the sliding safety locks at the bottom. Release one lock at a time, all the while holding the ladder with your other hand. Release the lock to the right with your right hand and the one to the left with your left hand.
  4. The rung section folds away as soon as you release the lock. Hold the telescopic tubes a little way up the ladder and close the rung section carefully using both hands.
  5. Unlock and close the remaining rung sections automatically starting from the bottom and moving upwards one section at a time.

NOTE! To avoid the risk of getting your hands trapped, do not put them on or between the rungs while closing the ladder.

Changing the length
When changing the length of an already opened collapsible ladder , always close the ladder first(See “Closing the Ladder”) , and thereafter open the ladder to the desired length (See ”Opening the Ladder”) .

Safety instructions, Warning & Explanation of symbols

For safety reasons ladders in general shall be used with care and common sense.
Incorrect use or incorrect handling of the ladder incurs risks that can lead to serious injury or even death.

Warning, risk of falling off ladder! There is a risk of injury with incorrect handling. You can easily slip or fall off the ladder and injure yourself.

Read and understand the user manual before using the telescopic ladder.
Always keep this manual with the product.

The telescopic ladder has a permissible load capacity of max. 150 kg.
Never exceed the permissible load capacity

The maximum number of users permitted on the ladder is 1.
Make sure that only one person is on the ladder at a time.

Keep a secure grip on the ladder when ascending and descending.
Maintain a handhold whilst working from a ladder or take additional safety precautions if you cannot.

If the ladder is delivered with stabilizer bars and these bars should be fixed by the user before the first use according the description in the user instruction.

The Ladder is designed for domestic use and professional use.

The inclination angle of the ladder must amount to approx. 65°~75° (ratio 1:4).

The ladder overhang over the contact point must amount to at least 1 m.

Before using the ladder, all rungs which have been pulled out must be locked.

Keep in mind the Max standing height

Before every use visually check the ladder is not damaged and is safe to use.
Do not use a damaged ladder.

Do not use the ladder on an unleveled or unfirmed base.

Do not overreach.
Do not Climbing sideways off the ladder.

Do not erect ladder on contaminated ground. e.g. with wet paint, mud,water, oil or snow

Do not ascend or descend unless you are facing the ladder.

Avoid work that imposes a sideways load on ladders, such as side-on drilling through solid materials.

Do not carry equipment which is heavy or difficult to handle while using a ladder.

Do not wear unsuitable footwear when climbing a ladder.

Do not use the ladder if you are not fit enough. Certain medical conditions or medication, alcohol or drug abuse could make ladder use unsafe.

Warning, electricity hazard Identify any electrical risks in the work area,such as overhead lines or other exposed electrical equipment and do not use the ladder where electrical risks occur.

Use non-conductive ladders for unavoidable live electrical work.

Do not use the ladder as a bridge.

Do not lean the ladder against unsuitable surfaces.
Make sure that you lean the top end of the ladder correctly.

While retracting the ladder, hands must be situated on the outside beams and must not, during any point of the retracting process, be placed on the rungs.

Do not stand on the last meter of the ladder.

Do not step off the side of ladder onto another surface.

  • Ensure the ladder is suitable for the task. Only use the telescopic ladder for easy jobs and do not spend long periods on a ladder without regular breaks. Fatigue and loss of balance are accident hazards.
  • Do not use the ladder outside in adverse weather conditions, such as strong wind.
  • For professional use a risk assessment shall be carried out respecting the legislation in the country of use.
  • When positioning the ladder take into account risk of collision with the ladder e.g. from pedestrians, lines or pipes, vehicles or doors. Secure doors (not fire exits) and windows where possible in the work area.
  • Do not modify the ladder design.
  • Do not move a ladder while standing on it.
  • Ladder shall never be moved from the top.
  • The ladder must not be used hanging from the top rung.
  • Do not use the ladder if one or more non-slip caps for the support foot are missing or are visibly damaged.
  • Climb onto the ladder one rung at a time and do not skip multiple rungs.
  • If necessary, take additional measures to secure the stability of the ladder, e.g. by lashing the ladder to a secure anchor.
  • Do not place any tools or other objects on the rungs and do not hang anything on the ladder.
  • Do not pull too forcefully on objects and do not exert intense pressure on objects if you are on the ladder. This could cause the ladder to tip over.
  • Always wear tightly fitting clothing when you climb onto the ladder. Loose-fitting clothing could get caught and cause you to fall off the ladder.
  • Prevent damage of the ladder when transporting e.g. by fastening and, ensure they are suitably placed to prevent damage.
  • Only transport the ladder when it is fully retracted.

Repair Care and maintenance

The telescopic ladder is a precision-made work tool. It should be cared for and maintained in accordance with the following instructions:

  • The collapsible tubes must be kept clean. Dirt, filings, paint spots, glue etc. must be wiped away after use, and before the ladder is closed. Also wipe the steps of the ladder.
  • For liquid cleaners use a small quantity on a piece of soft tissue or cloth. After cleaning the collapsible tubes, open all the sections, wipe every tube dry with paper or cloth. The ladder always must be dry.
  • The plastic end caps should always be in place to prevent dirt, filings etc. from getting into the collapsible tubes and causing damage.
  • Always transport the ladder in the folded position, so that the collapsible tubes are protected inside each other and cannot be damaged.
  • Avoid subjecting the ladder to knocks or rough treatment, as damage to the tubes directly affects the collapsible function.
  • Always store the ladder closed and locked, in as straight a position as possible e.g. hung up by the bars in a suspension system or placed on a flat, clean surface.
  • Ladders should be stored out of direct sunlight.
  • Store the ladder in a dry area.
  • Store the ladder out of the reach of children.
  • Store the ladder in a closed and upright position.
  • Please contact producer or distributor for the repairs, maintenance and replacement of parts, which shall be carried out by a competent person and be in accordance with the producer’s instructions.
