INSTALLATION
Preparing for use
The location you choose for the freezer must be properly ventilated and far
from heat sources. Do not place the freezer near heat sources, like a hob, and
avoid direct sunlight to ensure the cooling effect and save on energy
consumption. It is not recommended to place the freezer in a wet place, as it
may rust and cause electrical leakage. The result of dividing the total space
of the room in which the freezer is installed by the amount of refrigerant
load in the freezer must not be less than 8 g/m3. During operation, the
freezer releases heat into the environment. Therefore, you should leave at
least 30 mm of free space at the top, more than 100 mm on both sides, and more
than 50 mm at the rear of the freezer.
Please note
Figure 2 only illustrates the space required for the freezer.
Stable surface
- Place the freezer on a solid, flat surface to keep it stable, otherwise vibrations and noises will occur.
- Ensure a ventilation free of obstacles around the freezer.
OPERATION
On
- Clean the interior of the freezer with lukewarm water and detergent. Then, dry it. Wait at least 4 hours before plugging the freezer back to a power supply.
- Place the thermostat in position 2 and connect the plug to the power supply. The compressor will then start operating.
- Once the internal temperature decreases, you’ll be able to store food inside the freezer.
- If the freezer is installed in a wet place, you must check the earthed cord and the leakage breaker are working normally. If vibration noises occur due to contact of the freezer with the wall or if the wall turns black due to air convection around the compressor, remove the freezer from the wall.
- The installation of the freezer may cause interference in mobile phones, landline phones, radio receivers, or televisions near the refrigerator, so in this case, keep the freezer as far away from these objects as possible.
Temperature setting Fig. 3
Use the thermostat to adjust the freezer’s temperature: position 1 corresponds
to the hottest-temperature setting, while position 4 is the coldest-
temperature setting. We reccomend position 2 for normal use.
INSTRUCTIONS ON FOOD STORAGE
Use precautions
- The freezer may not operate consistently (there may be some defrosting of the contents or the temperature may become too hot) if placed in locations with a temperature out of the temperature range for which they are designed for a long period of time.
- The internal temperature may be affected by factors such as the location of the freezer, room temperature and the door opening frequency, etc., and you should take these factors into account if you decide to use any temperature control devices.
- Do not store effervescent or carbonated drinks inside the device when the freezer mode is active.
Cautions on food storage
- Leave enough space between foods; if they are too close together, they will block the flow of cold air, which will affect the cooling effect. Do not store too much or too heavy food to prevent the shelves from bending. When storing food, leave some space between the food and the inner walls; do not place water-rich food too close to the freezer’s inner walls to prevent it from freezing.
- Food storage by category: place daily food items at the front of the shelf so that you can reduce the door opening time and avoid food spoilage due to shelf life.
- Energy saving tips: let hot food cool to room temperature before storing it.
- Do not place a glass container with liquid or sealed canned liquid in the freezer compartment to prevent them from exploding due to volume expansion after freezing the liquid.
- Food should be packed or covered with suitable materials that are firm, tasteless, impermeable to air and water, non-toxic, and non-polluting, to avoid cross-contamination and odour transfer.
Tips and suggestions
- It is advisable to divide large-sized food into smaller pieces and put them in freezing bags before storing them in the freezer’s drawers.
- Separate frozen food from food that’s just been stored in the freezer. Not doing so may spoil fresher food.
- Please note that some foods are sensitive to cold and are therefore not suitable for storage in the appliance.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
If the freezer is not to be used for a long period of time:
- Turn off the refrigerator and unplug it from the power supply.
- Remove all the food.
- Clean and dry the interior completely. To avoid mould or unpleasant odours, leave the door slightly open.
- Store the appliance in a ventilated and dry place, away from heat sources; place the appliance carefully and do not place heavy objects on it.
- The device must be kept out of the reach of children to prevent them from playing with it.
Before cleaning, disconnect the power plug; do not connect or disconnect the power plug with your hands wet, as there is a risk of electric shock and injury. Do not spill water directly on the refrigerator to avoid rust, electrical leakage, and accidents. Do not reach into the bottom of the refrigerator, as you may get scratched by the sharp metal corners.
Interior and exterior cleaning
- Food residues in the refrigerator can cause undesired odours, so you should clean the refrigerator regularly.
- Remove all drawers and clean them with a soft cloth or sponge dampened with lukewarm water or neutral detergent.
- After using detergent, make sure you rinse it with clean water, and then dry it with a cloth.
- Often clean dust that may accumulate. The condenser grid on the rear part of the freezer and the adjacent components can be cleaned using a soft brush.
- Do not use strong cleaners, scouring pads, or solvents to clean any of the freezer’s parts.
- Do not use bristle brushes, steel wire brushes, detergent, soap powder, alkaline detergent, benzine, petrol, acid, hot water, or other corrosive elements to clean the freezer’s surface, door gasket, decorative plastic parts, etc., to avoid damage.
- Carefully dry the door gasket and clean the slot with a wooden stick wrapped with cotton. After cleaning, fix the four corners of the door gasket and then gradually push it into the slot in the door.
Defrost
- When the freezer operates for a long period of time, the interior surfaces may become covered with a layer of frost. The frost will reduce the freezer’s energy efficiency and make it less effective, for which it is advisable to remove it.
- When defrosting, unplug the freezer and remove all items stored inside. Let the frost melt naturally or carefully use a plastic scraper. Finally, wipe off any remaining ice and water, switch on the freezer and put the food back into it.
WARNING:
- Never use sharp tools to remove ice.
- After defrosting, you have to clean the inside of the freezer with a weak solution of baking soda. Then rinse with lukewarm water using a damp sponge or cloth and wipe dry. Wash the drawers with lukewarm soapy water and make sure they are completely dry before putting them back in the freezer.
Please note
If the power cord and/or plug are damaged or dusty, electric shock and fire
may occur. If there is any malfunction, disconnect the cord and contact the
Technical Support Service of Cecotec.

You open the door too often.
The door gasket has objects that do not allow to close it completely.
The freezer receives direct sunlight or is close to a heat source.
The freezer is not well ventilated.
The selected temperature is too high.
