Product Information

The LIVOO Rotating Food Dehydrator is a kitchen appliance designed to dehydrate fruits, vegetables, meat, and other food items. It has a power of 250W and operates on a voltage of 220-240V~ 50-60Hz. The appliance comes with removable sections for placing the food items and has an upper lid that needs to be kept on during the dehydrating process. The dehydrator is designed for household use only and should not be used for commercial purposes.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before first use, read the instructions carefully to avoid any damage to the appliance or injury to the user.
  2. Use the appliance only for its intended purpose and follow the manual guidelines.
  3. Do not operate the appliance for more than 40 hours continuously. After 40 hours of use, turn off the appliance, unplug it, and let it cool down.
  4. Unplug the appliance when not in use and keep it away from water.
  5. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons.
  6. Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it and do not immerse it in water. Clean the power base with a wet rag.
  7. Place the prepared food items in the removable sections, making sure there is enough space for air circulation between them.
  8. Place the sections on the power base and put the upper lid on during the drying process.
  9. Plug in the appliance and turn it on by setting the switch to ON. The indicator light will turn red.
  10. Set the temperature of the dehydrator and wait for the machine to start rotating the tray and drying the food items.
  11. Do not cover the appliance or leave it unattended while in use.
  12. After use, unplug the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning it.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

PLEASE, TAKE TIME TO READ WELL THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE PARTICULARLY BEFORE THE FIRST USE. A misuse of the appliance can damage it or hurt the user. Assure that you use the appliance for the use for which it is designed; we refuse any responsibilities as for the damages by an incorrect use or a bad manipulation.

  1. Do not work the appliance longer than 40 hours running. After finishing uninterrupted work of the appliance during 40 hours, turn off the appliance (the switch should be in the position “OFF”), unplug the appliance and let it cool down.
  2. Improper use of the appliance can cause its damage and injury to this user.
  3. Use the appliance only for its intended use and always follow the manual guidelines.
  4. Unplug the appliance when it is not use.
  5. Keep the power base away from water. Do not switch on the appliance if its surfaces are wet.
  6. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  7. Unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
  8. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet, instead grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
  9. Use the appliance only for household purposes, It is not designed for commercial use.
  10. Do not cover the appliance.
  11. Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
  12. Put the appliance only on to the flat surface.
  13. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  14. Children shall not play with the appliance.
  15. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.
  16. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  17. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of external timer or separate remote control system.
  18. Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact with food, thanks to refer to the below paragraph “cleaning” in manual.
  19. It is absolutely necessary to keep this appliance clean at all times as it comes into direct contact with food.
  20. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

  23. customers in hotels, motels and any other type of residential environment.

USE OF THE APPLIANCE

ATTENTION! Before using the first time:

  • Unpack the appliance.
  • Before use make sure that the electric parameters of your dehydrator, indicate on the technical characteristics table, match the characteristics of your local electric network.
  • Wash lids and sections of appliance. Wash sections in warm water adding a small quantity of detergents for washing dishes. Clean the power base with the help of wet rag (do not put it into a water and do not wash it).

FUNCTIONING

Drying products is an effective way for its conservation. Warm air of a fixed controllable temperature circulates freely inside the appliance between upper and lower lids, separate controllable removable sections and power base. That is why the products which are situated on the sections of the appliance are drying even and with minimum losses of health-giving vitamins. So you can enjoy fruits, vegetables and mushrooms, which are prepared without using unhealthy substances, the whole year. You can also dry flowers, medicinal plants, prepare cereals with the help of this appliance.

USE OF THE APPLIANCE

  1. Put the prepared in advance products to a removable sections. Sections for products should be placed in such way to let the air circulate freely between them. That is why you should not put too many products to the sections and put the products on to each other.

  2. Put the sections on to a power base.

  3. Put the upper lid on the appliance. During drying the upper lid should always be on the appliance.

  4. Plug and turn on the appliance by putting the switch to the position “ON”-the indicator light becomes red. Set the temperature of the dehydrator.

  5. When the machine is working, the tray is keeping 360 degree parallel rotating, it will make food drying faster and evenly. Do not put any heavy thing or hand on the lid it will lead to the tray stop drying.
    Temperature mode advices:

    • Herbs 40°C
    • Greens 40°C
    • Yoghurt 50°C
    • Vegetables 50-60°C
    • Fruits 60°C
    • Meat, Fish 60-70°C
      NOTE : dry products following the guidelines of this manual.
  6. When you finish using the appliance turn it off by putting the switch to the position “OFF”. Let the products cool down. To keep the products, place them in a glass or plastic tight bowl and in a fresh and dry place protected from the light. You can also put them under vacuum for a longer preservation.

  7. Warning: fruits and dehydrated vegetables do not keep more than year.

  8. Unplug the appliance.

NOTE: it is recommended to put all 5 sections on to the appliance during using it, no matter how many sections are empty.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS

Wash products before putting in the appliance. Do not put wet products into appliance, rub it dry.

ATTENTION! Do not put sections with products if there is water in it.

Cut off the spoiled parts of products. Slice the products in such a way to situate it freely between the sections. The duration of drying products depends on the thickness of pieces into which it is sliced. You can change the position of the sections if not all products on it dried well. You can put upper sections down, closer to power base, and lower sections you can put it place of upper sections. Some of the fruits can be covered by its natural protective layer and that is why the duration of drying may increase. To avoid this matter it is better to boil products for about 1-2 minutes and then put it to cold water and rug after that.

NEED TO KNOW : THE DURATION OF DRYING STATED IN THIS INSTRUCTION IN APPROXIMATE.
The duration of drying depends on the temperature and humidity of the room the level of humidity of products, thickness of the pieces etc.

DRYING FRUITS

  1. Wash the fruits.
  2. Take out the pit and cut off the spoiled parts.
  3. Slice into pieces which you can place freely between the sections.
  4. You can put the fruits down to natural lemon or pine apple juice not to let them fade
  5. If you want your fruits to smell pleasantly, you can add cinnamon or coconut swift.

DRYING VEGETABLES

  1. Wash the vegetables.
  2. Take out the pit and cut off the spoiled parts if necessary.
  3. Slice into pieces which you can place freely between the sections.
  4. It is better to boil vegetables for about 1-5minutes and then put it to cold water and then rug dry.

DRYING MEDICINAL PLANTS

  1. It is recommended to dry leafs, propagules.
  2. After drying it is better to put medicinal plants in paper bags or glass cans and place it in dark cool place.

STORAGE OF DRYING FOODS

  1. Containers for storage the dried products should be clean and dry.
  2. For better storage of dried food use glass containers with metal lids and put it into a dark dry place where the temperature should be 5-20 degrees.
  3. During first week after drying it is better to check if it is any moisture in container. If yes, it means that products are not dried well and you should dry it again.
    ATTENTION! Do not place hot place hot and even warm products into containers for its further storage.

PRELIMINARY PREPARING OF THE FRUITS
Preliminary preparing of the fruits saves its natural color, taste and flavor. Below you can see some useful recommendations how is better to prepare fruits for drying: Take 1/4 glass of juice (natural preferably).Remember that the juice, which you take, should correspond to the fruit which you prepare .For example for preparing apples you should take apple juice. Mix the juice with 2 glasses of water. Than immerse preliminary processed fruits(see “table of preparing the fruits for drying” into prepared liquid for 2 hours.

NOTICE: Time and ways of preliminary processing of the fruits which are described in the table only fact-finding. Personal preferences of customers can differ of the described in the table.

PRELIMINARY PREPARING OF THE VEGETABLES

  1. It is recommended to blanch green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus and potato, it saves its natural color.
  2. How to boil: put the preliminary prepared vegetables into a saucepan with boiling water for about 3-5 minutes. Then pour out the water and put vegetable into the appliance.
  3. If you want to add a smack of lemon to green beans, asparagus etc., just put it into a lemon juice for about 2 minutes.

NOTICE: THE RECOMMENDATIONS ABOVE ARE ONLY FACT-FINDING AND IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO FOLLOW THEM.

Food re-hydration

  • The dehydrated fruits can be eaten just as they are or rehydrate them before eating, the vegetables must be rehydrated (if they are to be added straight to a soup or sauces, just toss them in).
  • The vegetables can be re-hydrated by boiling them in water, heating them in steam or soaking them.
  • Do not add sugar or salt because that would delay the re-hydration process.

Soaking:
While soaking, it is recommended to keep fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator, barely soaked in water or stock, so as to prevent the bacterial growth. The soaking time is variable but generally it is recommended as four (4) hours for fruits and two (2) to ten (10) hours for vegetables.

Rehydration through simmering:

  • For fruits: one cup of fruits with one cup of water allowed to simmer until the right consistency is reached.
  • For vegetables: one cup of dehydrated vegetables with a cup of boiling water and allow it to soak until the proper consistency is reached.

Steam re-hydration:

  • For fruits: steam cook fruit for 3 to 5 minutes approximately until fruit is plump.
  • For vegetables: steam vegetables until they are cooked (depends on type of vegetable).

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Before cleaning check if the appliance is unplugged and cool down.
  • Clean the body of the appliance with the help of a wet sponge and then rug it dry.
  • Do not use metal brushes, abrasive and rigid purifier for cleaning the appliance, because it can damage the surface.
