Mineral deposits left by hard water can clog your coffeemaker. Cleaning is recommended once a month.

- Add cold water up to the 5-cup line.

- Wash the brew basket and carafe as instructed in cleaning.
CLEANING TIPS
- Excessive steaming or a prolonged brewing cycle is a sign that a cleaning is needed.
- The frequency of flushing out deposits is determined by your usage and water hardness.
- During cleaning, more steaming occurs than when brewing coffee and there may be some spitting.

FAQs
How much coffee do you put in a 5-cup coffee maker?****
Coffee® 5-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker makes up to 25 oz. of coffee, perfect for two 12 oz. cups! It’s newly designed carafe with ounce markings takes the guesswork out of measuring.
How long does a 5-cup coffee maker last?****
Quality coffee makers typically last at least 5 years. High-quality machines that are maintained well can last longer than 10 years. This is the average lifespan of a good coffee maker, but there are various factors that influence how long coffee makers last.
How much water does it take to clean a coffee maker?****
Fill the water tank of the coffee maker with a mixture of one-half water and one-half white vinegar. Vinegar is an effective natural solution for cleaning a coffee maker.
How do you drain water from a coffee maker?****
· Step 1: Brewer must be powered off but plugged in.
· Step 2: Place a mug on the Drip Tray to catch the water to be
drained.
· Step 3: Check if there is water left in the Cold Water
Reservoir. If so, lift the brewer handle to drain the water in the Cold Water
Reservoir into the Hot Water Tank.
How often do you change the water in a coffee maker?****
Change the water on a daily basis. Water makes up 98% of the final drink so it should be as fresh, flavorless, and colorless as possible to ensure the perfect espresso.
How do you store a coffee maker?****
Place your coffee maker of choice on a low shelf or countertop, making sure coffee beans, mugs, and other necessities are easily within reach. Take advantage of behind-the-door storage to free up more shelf space inside the pantry for coffee-making ingredients.
How is the water heated in a coffee maker?****
On the left-hand side of the base of the coffee maker is the heating element. This component is comprised of an aluminum extrusion with two parts: a resistive heating element and a tube for water to flow through. The resistive heating element and the aluminum tube heat the water.
Do you use hot water in a coffee maker?****
Some codes may not recognize domestic hot water as suitable for consumption. Heating water changes the water, which can affect the taste. Most commercial coffee makers will receive filtered water, and it is not a good idea to filter hot water. Coffee maker heaters are typically designed for a cold water delta T.
How long can you leave coffee in the coffee maker?****
Just as coffee beans go rancid after about two weeks, brewed coffee can start to taste bad after about 30 minutes, or the time it takes for the coffee to cool. Then you have about a 4-hour window before the oils in the coffee start to go bad, which further alters the taste.
What is the main function of a coffee maker?****
A coffeemaker, coffee maker, or coffee machine is a cooking appliance used to brew coffee. While there are many different types of coffeemakers, the two most common brewing principles use gravity or pressure to move hot water through coffee grounds.
