(for pendant- or wall-mounted installation)| RJ-45 connector crimping tool
Marker| Measuring tape| Hammer
(for pendant- or wall-mounted installation)| Waterproofing tape
M8 socket wrench| Wire stripper| H3 and H5 (M6 screw) hex key| PVC insulation

Device Installation
A. SD (TF) Card and SIM card Installation
Use a 2# Phillips screwdriver to remove the bottom cover, insert the SD/Trans
FLash (TF) card and SIM card.
CAUTION
- The appearance and components vary depending on PTZ dome camera models. The figures in this document are for reference only. Only cameras that support the wireless function (4G/5G) have SIM card slots.
- Do not attempt to remove the PTZ dome camera yourself. Do not remove the protective film from lens before installation is complete. The pole, wall, or ceiling for installing the device must bear at least four times the total weight of the mount and camera. additionally, ensure that the installation environment is firm and secure. Also, nearby magnetic field interference needs to be avoided. To improve the GPS performance, install the camera in a place that is free of obstacles above.
B. Pole-Mounted Installation
- Align the screw holes on the wall mount with the screw holes on the pole mount, and use the M8 screws to secure the bracket. The tightening torque is 8 N·m.
- Open up the three hose clamps and thread them through the installation holes on the pole mount. Thread the cables that need to connect to the pigtail cables of the PTZ dome camera through the pole mount and wall mount. Then use the hose clamps to affix the pole mount to the pole.
- The PTZ dome camera is delivered with a handle attached, to make it easier to pick up and carry the camera. You are advised to use the safety line, not the pigtails, to carry the camera.
Some PTZ dome cameras’ safety lines are different in structure. If a camera’s safety line does not have a handle, you can pull the silicone tube in the middle of the safety line to carry the camera.
Correct: Carry the camera using the handle or the silicone tube|
Incorrect: Carry the camera through pigtails or side cover.
4. (Optional) Align the adapter ring with the mount and screw it in to the mount. Then tighten the set screws on the mount to secure the adapter ring to the mount. NOTE
Some models do not have adapter rings but have top covers. You can align the
top cover of the camera with the mount and screw it into the mount. Then
tighten the set screws on the mount to secure the top cover of the camera to
the mount.
- Unfasten the hex nut on the buckle of the safety line and hook the buckle on the mounting ear of the bracket. Then use the mounting ear on one side of the PTZ dome camera to attach the device to the top cover.
- Connect the cables to the pigtails and waterproof and insulate the cables. For details, see the section “Cable Connection” and “Waterproofing and Insulation”. Tuck the cables into the mount. You can open the maintenance window below the mount and arrange the cables.
- Close the top cover and use an H5 hex key to tighten the three screws on the top cover of the camera. Then fasten the screws on the side of the adapter ring. For a camera without an adapter ring, close the top cover and tighten the three screws on the cover.
NOTE
Some PTZ dome cameras’ safety lines are different in structure. After the
installation is complete, if the safety line has a handle, remove the handle
and ensure that the hex nuts on the buckles are tightened. The actual handle
and buckles may differ from the examples in this guide.
C. Corner-Mounted Installation
- Place the mount in the desired installation position. Use a marker to mark where the installation screws go. Use a 10 mm bit to drill the holes with a depth of about 55–60 mm. Use a hammer to carefully drive the expansion bolts into the holes. Then, remove the flat washers, spring washers, and nuts from the expansion bolts.
- Align the screw holes on the wall mount with the screw holes on the pole mount, and fasten them together using the M8 screws. The tightening torque is 8 N·m.
- Remove washers, spring washers, and nuts from the expansion bolts and thread the cables through the wall mount. Put the four expansion bolts through the four screw holes at the bottom of the wall mount, replace the washers, spring washers, and nuts on the expansion bolts, and tighten the nuts. NOTE
For details about subsequent installation operations, see 3 to 7 in Pole- mounted Installation.
D. Wall-Mounted and Pendant-Mounted Installations
- Remove washers, spring washers, and nuts from the expansion bolts, and thread the cables through the mount. Put the four expansion bolts through the four screw holes on the base of the mount, replace the washers, spring washers, and nuts on the expansion bolts, and tighten the nuts. NOTE
For details about subsequent installation operations, see 3 to 7 in Pole- mounted Installation.
E. Cables connection
CAUTION
- In areas prone to lightning strikes, the surge protector must be installed and grounded.
- Strong and weak current cables must be kept at least 5 cm apart from each other. When connecting cables to the device, take care to avoid connecting strong current cables to weak current interfaces or you may damage your device.
- Wrap all pigtail cables in insulated, waterproof, rubber tape to prevent short circuits or water damage. Cutting off the pigtail cables will void your warranty.
-
Connect the ground cable to ground the device, and then connect the power cable. If crimp terminals are not used, the wire thickness cannot exceed 1.5 mm², and the length cannot exceed 25 m. If crimp terminals are used, the wire can be up to 0.75 mm² for a 15 m length of wiring, or up to 1.0 mm² if 20 m is required. Longer wiring is not supported. The ground impedance cannot exceed 5 ohms.
-
connect the GPS antenna (only the cameras that support the GPS function provides the GPS connector).
-
Connect the audio cable.
You need to prepare wiring terminals for connection. Alternatively, you can directly connect the bare wires. -
Connect the alarm cable and RS-485 cable. It is recommended that twisted pair cables be used as alarm cables. The cable core must be from 22 AWG to 28 AWG. The impedance of the entire cable cannot exceed 100 ohms.
You need to prepare wiring terminals for connection. Alternatively, you can directly connect the bare wires. -
Connect the network cable. Loosen the components 1, 2, and 3 of the waterproof connector kit on the network cable port in sequence, thread the network cable through the kit, and install the components in the sequence marked in the following figure. The waterproof connector of the network cable must be secured tightly, or they may come loose later.
If the RJ45 connector of the network cable has a jacket and cannot be threaded through the kit, remove the jacket. If the jacket cannot be removed, cut off the connector and install an RJ45 connector without the jacket.
F. Waterproofing and Insulation
- Insulate the cable connectors using insulation tape. Wrap one layer only. Stretch the waterproof tape evenly to twice its original length. Then apply one layer of waterproof tape.
- Use the insulation tape to protect the waterproof tape layer. Then, use cable ties to secure the both ends.
- Cover the rest of the cabling in a conduit or with protective waterproof rubber tape. Make a drip loop as shown below to create an artificial lowest point of the cable.
- If a corrugated pipe is installed, a drainage hole should be deployed at the lowest point of the pipe to prevent water from getting into the pipe. Long term soaking may cause pigtail damage.
NOTE
- Waterproof and insulate all cables including power cables, network cables, and unused pigtail cables.
- Before that, check the cabling and ensure that the camera runs normally to avoid reworkings.
- The waterproof tape must cover the cable bundle from the insulation sheath all the way to the cable conduit (for example, a PVC tube). The tape must be wrapped tightly and there must be no gaps in the coverage or water will leak in.
- If a corrugated pipe is installed, a drainage hole should be deployed at the lowest point of the pipe to prevent water from getting into the pipe. Long- term soaking may cause pigtail damage.
