The Appliances containing isobutane refrigerant (R600A) ,(Refer Refrigerant type on spec label at the rear of refrigerator) which is combustible. When transporting and installing the appliance, care should be taken to ensure that no parts of the are circuit are damaged.
If leak is detected, avoid any naked flames or potential sources of ignition and air the room in which the appliance is standing for several minutes. In order to avoid the creation of a flammable gas air mixture if a leak in the refrigerating circuit occurs, the size of the room in which the appliance is used  should correspond to the amount of refrigerant used.
The room must be 1m2in size for every 8g of R600a refrigerant inside the appliance. You can identify the amount of refrigerant from label specification at back of appliance

Do not modify Power Cord length. Do not use any extension board & multiple socket outlet. Also, Do not share the same power socket outlet with other appliances.

  • Otherwise it will cause electrical ‘shock or fire due to heat generation.

Do not use a damaged or an unspecified power cord.if the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a power cord available from the manufacturer or its service agent!

  • It will cause electrical shock or fire.

Plug in the power socket properly.it should ) not be loose or inserted half.

  • Otherwise, it will cause electric shock or fire due to heat generation or electrical shock.

In Order to prevent possible electric shock, Customer must ensure proper earthing in 3-pinPower socket outlet. If you have doubts on whether the appliance us properly earthed or the grounding instructions are not completely understood,consult a authorized service center.

  • In the event of an electric short circuit, earthing reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current.Improper use of the earthing plug car result in an electric shock.

Appliance should be turned On/Off by a dedicated switch only.

  • Otherwise, it will cause electrical shock or fire due to heat generation.

Child Entrapment Warning:- An empty refrigerator can be a dangerous attraction to children.Remove gaskets, latches lids or the entire door from your unused appliance, or take some other action to make it harmless.

Do not keep any hot or flame related items lit candles or put stabilizers on the top or inside of refrigerator.

  • It may cause fire, injury or damage.

Do not use electrical appliances inside the refrigerator or keep them on top/ inside the refrigerator such as TV, Cooler, Temple, Decoration Lighting, Harmful Chemicals,Cloth Top etc.

  • It may cause explosion or fire.

Do not place the heavy objects ( More than 5Kg) Container with liquid on the top of refrigerator.

  • It may be dropped to cause injury, fire or electric shock when opening or closing the door.

Do not place glass containers, bottles or cans (especially those containing carbonated drinks) in the frezzer compartment, shelves or ice bin that will be exposed to temperatures below freezing.

  • It may cause explosion due to expansion when the contents are frozen.

Do not allow the power cord bent or pressed by the heavy to be damaged.

  • It may damage the power cord and cause fire or electric shock.

Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

  • it may cause refrigerant leakage, explosion or fire.

Do not allow the power plug to face upward or to be squeezed at the back of the refrigerator.

  • Water maybe flown into or the plug may be damaged which causes fire or electric shock.

Pull out the power plug not by grasping the cord but the plug of its end.

Keep the ventilation] in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.

  • It may cause explosion or fire.

Remove water or dust from the power plug and insert it with the ends of the pins securely connected.

  • Dust, water or unstable connection may cause fire or electric shock.

Do not cling on the door or baskets of the door.

  • It may cause the refrigerator to fall over or cause injury to user.
    Especially, do not allow the children to do the above.

Opening and closing the door of the refrigerator vigorously may cause the stored food in the refrigerator basket to fall by shock and hurt the foot, so take precautions.

When disposing the refrigerator, remove the gasket from the door.

Unplug the appliance before cleaning or maintenance.

Disconnect the power plug during thunder and lighting, or if not in use for a long period of time.

  • There is a danger of electric shock of fire.

Do not use the refrigerator if it has been submerged in water without having it checked by a qualified electrician.

  • After water submersion, the appliance may cause electric shock, fire and malfunction.

When any strange smell or smoke is detected from the refrigerator, disconnect the power plug immediately and contact the service center.

Place all the components Shelves, Baskets accessories etc, in right places before connecting to power.

  • Incorrect installation may lead to noise and deterioration of cooling performance of appliance.

Do not insert hand into bottom of refrigerator.

  • The iron plate at bottom may cause injury.

Do not splash water on your refrigerator.

  • It may cause short circuit.

CAUTION
To reduce the risk of minor injury to persons, malfunction, or damage to the product or property when using this product, follow basic precautions, including the following.

This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as

  • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
  • farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
  • bed and breakfast type environments;
  • catering and similar non-retail applications.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Cleaning

  • When cleaning the inside or outside of the appliance, do not wipe it with a rough brush, toothpaste, or flammable materials. Do not use cleaning agents containing flammable substances.,
  • This may cause discoloration or damage to the appliance.
  • Flammable substances: alcohol (ethanol, methanol, isopropyl alcohol, isobutyl alcohol, etc.), thinner, bleach, benzene, flammable liquid, abrasive, etc.

During Vacations

  • During average length vacations, you will probably find it best to leave the refrigerator in operation. Place freezable items in freezer for longer life. When you plan to be away for an extended period, remove all food, disconnect the power cord, clean the interior thoroughly, and leave each door OPEN to prevent odour formation. To operate again, let the refrigerator run for 6-8 hrs. for stabilization.

Shifting

  • While shifting the refrigerator, two people should carry it for its safety. Fasten the door with tape or lock to prevent opening of the refrigerator.

Installation

Refrigerator should be located properly in ventilated area. Levelling of refrigerator should be done with front legs.
Refrigerator should be levelled with front to back inclination for base. LG

  • In case of Base stand model leveling of refrigerator should be done with front leg of Base Stand
  • In selected models only.

After installing the appliance, connect the power plug into a socket outlet. Before moving and discarding the appliance, disconnect the plug from the socket outlet.

Dimensions and Clearances

  • Too small of a distance from adjacent items may result in degradation of freezing capability and increased electricity costs. Allow over 50mm clearance from each adjacent wall when installing the appliance.

Ambient Temperature

  • The appliance is designed to operate within a limited range of ambient temperatures, depending on the climate zone. Do not use the appliance at a  temperature exceeding the limit.
    The internal temperatures could be affected by the location of the appliance, the ambient temperature, the frequency of door opening and so on.

Identification of Control

3-pin power socket outlet with proper earthing must be used for electrical connections.

Specially designed knob gives you facility to control temperature inside Refrigerator.

Before loading, let refrigerator run for 12 hrs. in No. 4 position.

Suggestion for better cooling

  1. Before loading let the refrigerator run for 12 hours.
    Set the thermostat at 4.

Operating Procedure

DEFROSTING GUIDE AND CAUTION

  1. Defrost Guide
    a) Natural Frost and its Effect on Refrigerator – The frost and ice accumulate due to the regular opening and closing of the door, causing humid in the air to enter the refrigerator and come in contact with the freezer.
    – The frost accumulated on the freezer parts prevents proper cooling of the fresh food compartment as the accumulated ice acts as an insulator for the cooling process.
    b) Defrosting / – Defrosting is the process of removing excess frost and ice from freezer components to maintain proper
    – Defrosting process improves the operating efficiency of the refrigerator and hence the energy consumption.
    c) Starting, During & After Defrost – This appliance comes with a semi- automatic defrosting provision.
    – Users can start the defrosting process by pressing the defrost button.
    – Defrosted water will flows to Tray Fresh Room and small water may dropping other place.
    In this case, swipe or remove water with dried Dishcloths
    – Once the defrosting is complete, the refrigerator cooling will restart automatically.

  2. For the best efficiency of refrigerator, Push the defrost knob after every 3 days/Ice level reaches defrost indicator.

Caution

  • Before defrosting user shall ensure that no Ices, ice cream or Frozen foods are stored in the freezer, as it may melt or thaw.

  • Not defrosting the refrigerator periodically may-
    – Deteriorate the operating efficiency of the refrigerator
    – Food items stored in the fresh food compartment and vegetable compartment may get stale due to the rise in temperature of these compartments.

  • Do not use sharp tools to remove ice tray, otherwise you may puncture the resulting gas leakage thus non performance of refrigerator.

ICE MAKING
Fill ice trays with water, place in freeze Box. To remove ice cube, gently twist Ice ray.

Lamp Replacement

  • Not all appliance bulbs will fit your refrigerator. Be sure to replace the bulb with one of the same size, shape and wattage. Refer Lamp enclosure for wattage.

How to get good results

  • When storing the food, cover it with vinyl wrap or store in a container with a lid. this prevents moisture from evaporating and helps food to keep it taste and nutrients.

  • Don’t keep hot milk or hot food in your refrigerator.
    This will result in an increased temperature and increase in power consumption.

  • Do not leave refrigerator open for long time. Don’t open the refrigerator door too often, hot air will enter and increase the temperature.

  • Never overload your refrigerator or cover the shelves with paper or plastic sheets as it will reduce its efficiency.

  • Close the door properly, make sure that there is no gap between the gasket and the cabinet of your LG refrigerator.

  • Wipe excessive moisture on food or place it inside containers or plastic net bags. This will help in retaining its freshness for a longer period of time.

  • Feel free to call your LG Customer Information Centre (CIC) / Branch / LG Representative in case your refrigerator has suffered a damage in transit.

Disposal of your old appliance (as per e-waste Rules)

  1. When this crossed out wheeled bin symbol is depicted on the product and its operator’s manual, it means the product is covered by the e-waste Management and Handling Rules, 2011 and are meant to be recycled, dismantled, refurbished or disposed off.

  2. Do’s
    a. The product is required to be handed over only to the authorized recycler for disposal.
    b. Keep the product in isolated area, after it becomes non functional/unrepairable so as to prevent its accidental breakage.
    Don’t
    a. The product should not be opened by the user himself/herself, but only by authorized service personnel.
    b. The product is not meant for re-sale to any unauthorized agencies/scrap dealer/ Kalahari.
    c. The product is not meant for mixing into household waste stream.
    d. Do not keep any replaced spare part(s) from the product in exposed area.

  3. Any disposal through unauthorized agencies person will attract action under  Environment (Protection) act 1986.

  4. Hazards of improper handling segmentation breakage
    a. The refrigerant ( R134a) used, if overexposed, might cause dizziness and loss of concentration. Liquid contact can cause irritation and frostbite.  The refrigerant( R600a), squirting out of the pipes could ignite or cause eye injury.
    b. The blowing agent cyclopentane is highly flammable liquid and vapor. Harmful to aquatic life. Contact with liquid may cause cold burns / frost bites. Repeated exposure causes skin dryness.

  5. “This product is complied with the requirement of Hazardous Substances as specified under Rule 13 (1) & (2) of the E-Waste (Management &  Handling) Rules, 2011”.

WARRANTY CARD

The LG Refrigerator (hereinafter referred as product) comes with 1 year warranty on all Parts (except Consumables, Bulb, Loose Plastic Parts, Glass) in the first year from the date of purchase on producing the tax paid invoice provided always that the warranty card bears the rubber stamp, date and signature of our Authorized Dealer showing the Additional warranty on compressor as specified below shall be on fulfilling the above mentioned conditions.

9 YEAR ADDITIONAL WARRANTY ON COMPRESSOR

The 9 year warranty on Compressor will continue even after the expiry of 1 year period from the date of purchase. This warranty covers Compressor only. Gas/ Gas charging will be charge to customer. Gas charging is included only when compressor is defective & inoperative. During the additional warranty period, it does not cover any part such as PCB assembly, condenser, freezer, capillary, suction line, overload protector, relay, thermostat etc.. Standard visiting charges will be applicable within the municipal limit of town where LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. (LGEIL) has its Authorized Service centre, Service outside municipal limit will attract to and fro travailing, other incidental expenses in addition to visiting charges, as prevailing from time to time. During the warranty period, only the parts replaced or repaired shall be free of cost, but service charges shall always be payable by the customer.

Common TERMS & CON DITIONs applicable for warranties as mentioned above:

  1. The warranty is confined to the first purchaser of the Refrigerator only & is non-transferable.
  2. Repairs & replacements will be carried out through the Authorized Service Centres of LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd. (hereinafter referred as LG or LGEIL). Customer may place their service call through the LG customer care or through the dealer from whom the product has been In case the customer shifts the place of residence during warranty period, it is advised to contact our helpline.
  3. Repair under warranty shall be carried out by an authorized service personnel only. The details of centralized helplines are attached.
  4. For units installed beyond municipal limits of the jurisdiction of company’sAuthorized Service Centre, it is responsibility of the purchaser to contact the nearest authorized service centre and bring the unit to the authorized service at its own cost and risk. All expense incurred in collecting the units or parts thereof from the company’s authorized service centre, as well as expenses incurred with deputing of service personnel/technician toward conveyance and other incidentals etc. will be borne by the customer. Local charges for transportation and handling charges may vary from location to location. Customers are advised to verify before. In case the customer desires to bring the unit on its own to theAuthorized Service Centre, the same shall be at its own risks & consequences.
  5. The concerned authorized service centre will advise the customer whether to effect the repairs at site or at the authorized service centre.
  6. Call registered with the centralized helpline/Authorized service centre, wherein only cleaning of the unit/parts in the unit due to dust accumulation on portions of the units are not to be considered as defects.
  7. In case of repairs or replacement of any part/s of the unit, this warranty will thereafter continue and remain in force only for the unexpired period of the warranty. LGEIL may use parts that are new or refurbished and equivalent to new in performance and reliability. Replacement of parts would be purely at the discretion of LGEIL alone. In case the replacement of the entire unit is being made, (subject to the sole discretion of LGEIL), the same model shall be replaced and in the event such model has been discontinued, it shall be replaced with the model price equivalent at the time of purchase.
  8. In case of any damage to the product/customer abuse/repairs by un-authorized personnel’s/ misuse detected/ by the Authorized Service Centre personnel, the warranty conditions are not applicable and repairs will be done subject to availability of parts and on a chargeable basis only.
  9. This warranty shall not cover any consequential or resulting liability, damage or loss to property or life arising directly or indirectly out of any defect being noticed in the equipment during warranty period Refrigerator. The company’s obligation under this warranty shall be limited to repair or providing replacement of defective parts only under the warranty period.
  10. The company or its Authorized Service Centre reserves the right to retain any part/s or component replaced its discretion, in the event of defect being noticed in the equipment during warranty period.
  11. While the company will make every effort to carry out repairs at the earliest, it however is made expressly clear that the company is under no obligation to do so in a specified period of time.
  12. In the event of any unforeseen circumstance, and spares not being available, the company’s prevailing depreciation rules may apply on the purchaser to accept as a commercial solution in lieu of repairs
  13. If any coloured internal or external components are replaced, there will be commitment to ensure that the shades match with the original or other components. The replaced shades, patterns, tints may vary from the customer’s unit due to continuous usage of the unit. Any matching components changed at customers request will be chargeable basis except the component which actually needed.
  14. Free Installation or Demo of the product. can be availed only once & within 3 months from the date of purchase.
  15. Any extended warranty offered by LG E I L has to be supported by relevant proof.
  16. Warranty shall expire after the warranty period as mentioned above even if the Refrigerator may not be in use for any time during the warranty period for any reason.
  17. Only courts in state of Delhi and places where LGEIL has its branch office shall have the jurisdiction for settling any claims, disputes arising under the warranty.
  18. Warranty is not applicable in any of the following cases where:
  19. a) the warranty card is not completed properly at the time of purchase, b) the completed warranty card is not presented to authorized service personnel at the time of service of the product, c) the product is not operated according to instructions given in the Operating Instruction Booklet/Owner’s Manual, d) the product is used for commercial purposes, e) the product has failed under certain conditions like water logging , flood , fire , misuse etc., f) defects/malfunction are caused by improper or reckless use, which shall be determined by the company personnel, g) any repair work is carried out by persons other than authorized service personnel, h) defect/malfunction are caused which are beyond control like lightening, abnormal voltage, Acts of God, virus etc., I) any issue is caused by usage of 3rd party product like voltage stabilizer, power outlet socket, MCB, extension board etc., j) defects/malfunction caused while in transit to service centre or purchaser’s residence, k) defects caused by rodents bite or by pests and vermin ants/Insects/animals/birds etc., I) the serial number is deleted, defected or altered, m) damage is caused to the product or any part/s due to transportation or shifting, n) use of knife or sharp instrument is used to remove the ice trays or Ice from the freezer or to remove the frost mechanically and as a result Compressor, Evaporator, Condensers, capillary, suction line & other related items get spoiled, o) any accessory external to the equipment are supplied by dealer or LG, p) any issue of Wi-Fi connectivity or compatibility with other products or software’s is there, q) any loss of data
