Green Common Dry Contact

Wiring Example
L2 locks out heating/cooling when wet.resideo L2 WiFi Water Sensor and
Switch - Wiring Example

  1. C wire is optional or not used on some thermostats.
  2. The W, Y, G, etc. wires match as normal from thermostat to HVAC.
  3. If display powered by C, thermostat will be blank during lockout. If thermoset is WiFi it will not be accessible on app during lockout.

Note: Use caution if locking out heating in locations in which pipes could freeze.

Device can be installed on a wall while using the optional cable sensor.
Floor Placement
Device can be placed on the floor using the on-device water sensing contacts and the optional cable sensor.
Note: For WiFi operation, device cannot be mounted inside a metal box. Placement and Sensing Continued…
Optional Cable Sensor
To install the cable sensor, remove the plug at the bottom of the device and plug in the cable sensor.
Accessory cable sensors (WLD3CABLE sold separately) can be connected to extend the cable and increase water sensing area. The entire length of the cable is a water sensor.
Note: The cable sensor jack is NOT for plugging in an adaptor. Doing so could damage the water sensor. Test Mode
Press the sensor’s button three times. The LED should start blinking red.
In test mode, alarm sounds and switches change position. (Switch for Orange and Green wires open. Switch for White and Green wires closed.)
To return to normal function, press the reset button 3 more times.
Test mode will not function during an active alarm or a firmware update.
