Product Information

The Yale EF-PIR (EF-3PIR) is a wire-free passive infrared motion detector that operates on the 868MHz FM radio frequency. It features a status LED, learn/test button, movement high/low sensitivity, supervision enable/disable jumper, tamper spring, and battery tab. The PIR has two wall-fixing knockouts and four corner-fixing knockouts for easy installation. It has a sleep timer of approximately one minute for power conservation and an LED indicator that flashes for two seconds to indicate low battery, tamper activation, or test mode.

Product Usage Instructions

Before installation, program your PIR and test it afterward. Please refer to your current system instruction book for programming instructions.

Installation
  1. Choose a suitable location to install the PIR.
  2. Remove the cover screw and the cover to access the jumpers.
  3. Set the movement high/low sensitivity jumper to increase or decrease PIR sensitivity to movement based on your preference.
  4. If you want to enable supervision, set the supervision enable/disable jumper to “Off”. If you want to disable supervision, set the jumper to “On”.
  5. Insert the battery tab to power on the PIR.
  6. Secure the PIR to the wall or corner using the fixing knockouts.
  7. Test the PIR to ensure proper function.

Operation

The PIR has an automatic sleep timer of approximately one minute for power conservation. After transmitting a detected movement, the PIR will not retransmit for one minute. Any further movement detected within this one- minute sleep period will extend the sleep time by another minute. To temporarily disable the sleep timer, enter test mode as described in the Test Mode section below. Disable the sleep timer temporarily by entering the test mode. See the Test Mode section.

LED Indicator

  • Off: Normal operation
  • LED flash (2 sec):
    • Detects motion during low battery, tamper activated, or test mode.
    • The spring tamper switch is activated.

Test Mode

To enter test mode, press and hold the learn/test button until the LED indicator flashes. The PIR will not enter sleep mode during testing. To exit test mode, press and release the learn/test button.

Description

  • • Learn/Test Button
    To enter Test mode: Press once in Standby mode. The LED will light up for two seconds whenever a movement is detected. Test mode lasts for 3 minutes.

Supervision Enable/Disable Jumper 2

  • If enabled, the PIR will automatically transmit Supervisory signals periodically to the Control Panel at random intervals. The Control Panel needs to enable supervision before it can monitor these periodic signals.
  • Jumper On= Supervision Disabled (Default)
  • Jumper Off= Supervision Enabled

Movement High/Low Sensitivity Jumper 3

  • Jumper On= Increase PIR sensitivity to movement
  • Jumper Off= Decrease sensitivity (Factory Default)

Please do not carry out any repairs without our authority or by using an unauthorized expert. Any repairs or other works carried out without our authorization or by using an unauthorized expert will not be covered under this guarantee.

This guarantee is non-transferable and applies to products purchased in the United Kingdom only. This guarantee does not apply to normal wear and tear. This does not affect your statutory rights.
