Pull Cable – Wire Main

Pull wire/cable into box and utilize proper fittings to secure and provide proper protection to conductor insulation. Wire main terminals. When aluminum conductors are used, the application of a UL-Listed conductor termination compound is recommended. Refer to wiring diagram label inside device for proper terminal tightening torque requirements.

Install and Wire Branch Breakers

Install and wire correct type branch circuit breakers in accordance with wiring diagram label requirements. Class CTL load centers restrict utilization of more circuit breakers than was designed for by providing full or notched bus bar stabs. Type QT breakers can only be installed in devices where the CTL notch is provided on the bus bar stab (Fig. 3). The sum of QT breaker ratings should not exceed 110 amps per branch circuit stab. When aluminium conductors are used, the application of a UL-Listed conductor termination compound is recommended. See branch breakers for wire size and tightening torque requirements. See Fig. 3 for breaker installation and removal guidelines. All electrical connections must be tightened to requirements as specified on load center wiring diagram label and on each branch breaker label before energizing.

Remove twistouts – Install cover/deadfront

Remove required twistouts (Figure 4) by back and forth motion with pliers. Install cover/deadfront on enclosure with screws provided. All breaker openings must be closed with breakers or filler plates*. For flush-mount devices, make final adjustment of box to eliminate any spaces between the cover openings and breakers.
