WELCOME

Congratulations and thank you for purchasing your new Sonik® VADERX® Bite alarm. We are sure that it will provide you with many years of faithful service in your angling. Please take a few moments to read this manual. The advice it contains will enable you to get the very best performance from your VADERX® bite alarm.

GETTING STARTED

BATTERY FITTING/REPLACEMENT

Remove the battery compartment cover by sliding it carefully down to remove it from the casing. Insert carefully 1 x PP3 9V battery noting the polarity shown above the connection terminals. Alarm speaker will sound when batteries are fitted correctly. Replace the battery cover ensuring that it closes positively into place.

SWITCHING ON / OFF

  • To turn the alarm on, press and hold the on/off button; LED’s will flash three times.
  • To turn the alarm off, press and hold the on/off button; LED’s will flash six times.

VOLUME CONTROL

  • To adjust volume, press the on/off button. The V-LED will indicate volume setting and speaker will sound. The first volume setting is silent.

TONE CONTROL

  • To adjust tone, press the T-button. The V-LED will indicate chosen tone and speaker will sound. The tone will be automatically replicated through the receiver.

SENSITIVITY CONTROL

  • To adjust sensitivity, press the S-button. The V-LED will indicate chosen sensitivity which cycles high to low.

EXTENSION OUT SOCKET

  • Located on the underside of the alarm this is compatible with most Illuminated indicators with 2.5mm jack plug connection.

FUNCTIONS IN USE

  • The two high visibility LED’s will flash when both forwards and backwards line movement is detected. The speaker will sound a two stage high-low tone for drop-back activation.

NIGHT GLOW LED’s

  • To activate the night glow LED’s, press the W-button (work light). The roller wheel LED’s will illuminate on a low brightness setting. Repeat press the W-button to deactivate.

LOW BATTERY WARNING

  • When a low battery voltage is detected the main alarm LED will flash to signal a low battery. Battery should be replaced within 24hrs .

CARE OF YOUR VADERX® ALARM

  • All VADERX® alarm products have been designed to be weatherproof. However, it is important that after use in extreme wet conditions the unit be allowed to dry out indoors.

NOTES

  1. Maximum battery voltage should never exceed 9V or damage to electronic components is possible.
  2. Each main receiver will only respond to paired transmitters.
  3. To prolong battery life; the alarm should be powered off when not in use. Please remove the battery when unit is not being used for extended periods of time.
  4. Use of good quality alkaline batteries is recommended for best performance.

VADERX RECEIVER OVERVIEW

GETTING STARTED

BATTERY FITTING/REPLACEMENT

Remove the battery compartment cover by sliding it carefully down to remove it from the casing. Insert carefully 1 x PP3 9V battery noting the polarity shown above the connection terminals. Receiver speaker will sound when batteries are fitted correctly. Replace the battery cover ensuring that it closes completely

SWITCHING ON/ OFF

  • To turn the receiver on, press and hold the on/off button; LED’s will illuminate, speaker sounds three times.
  • To turn the receiver off, press and hold the on/off button; Speaker will sound five times.

VOLUME CONTROL

  • To adjust volume, press the+ button to cycle through the 8 volume levels available.
  • The lowest volume setting is silent. The vibration function is activated on the lowest volume setting.

SYNCHRONISATION

Please note that your alarms should come pre-registered to the receiver. However, if you would like to change the registration order or add an alarm to the receiver; follow the steps below.

  1. Press and hold both the + and – buttons together for three seconds until the first channel LED illuminates.
  2. Press the + or – button to cycle through the six channel positions.
  3. When the chosen channel is selected, activate the required alarm head by rotating the roller wheel. The receiver will beep; indicating the pairing is complete.
  4. Repeat this process to sync other alarm heads to the receiver.
  5. The receiver will return to normal function after a ten seconds.
FUNCTIONS IN USE

When activated the VADERX® receiver will replicate the alarm speaker activation and tone. The channel LED activated will remain latched for 20 seconds. When drop back indication is detected the speaker will sound a two stage high-low tone for drop-back activation. The receiver will remain synced to alarm heads even if the battery is disconnected or removed.

LOW BATTERY WARNING

  • When a low battery voltage is detected the receiver alarm LED will flash to signal a low battery. Battery should be replaced within 24hrs.

  3. To conserve battery life; the receiver should be powered off when not in use. Please remove the battery when unit is not being used for extended periods of time.

WARNINGS

  • Do not trigger LED or speaker in close proximity to human or animal eyes and ears.
  • Please store your SONIK® bite alarm products out of the reach of children.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting your SONIK® equipment to impacts.

DRYING OUT AFTER USE

All SONIK® electronlcs have been designed to be weatherproof. However, after use in heavy rain, it is important to allow the units to dry out completely indoors; removing any protective covers.
