SAFETY WARNINGS

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.

General warnings

  1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance must never been carried out by children, unless they are over 8 years and under supervision.
  2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  3. Keep the appliance and the cable cord out of the reach of children less than 8 years old.
  4. WARNING: In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
  5. If the supply cord is damaged it must be repaired by the Authorized Service Agent to avoid any hazard.
  6. Never pull on the cord when unplugging.
  7. Do not use the unit with a damaged cord or plug, or if it is not working properly.
  8. Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.
  9. Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  10. Make sure the appliance has been unplugged before cleaning.
  11. This appliance must be installed following the national regulations for electrical installations.

CAUTION: The surface can remain hot during or after use.

  • The device should only be used with the supplied stand.
  • If the unit is overfilled, boiling water may be projected.
  • CAUTION: Make sure the kettle is switched off before you remove it from its holder.
  • Switch off the plug from the outlet before filling, emptying or cleaning, or when not in use.
  • Do not operate or place any part of this appliance on or near any hot surfaces such as gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter. Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces.
  • Avoid touch hot kettle surfaces, use handles or knobs.
  • To avoid possible steam damage, turn the spout away from walls or cabinets when operating the kettle.
  • Clean the filter with water once a month or when it is necessary. When pulling the filter out, be careful it is hot after boiling water.
  • If operated on wood furniture, use a protective pad to prevent damage to delicate finishes.
  • Remove and replace the lid carefully when hot.
  • Do not switch your kettle on if it is empty.
  • To protect against fire, do not operate in the presence of explosive and / or flammable fumes.
  • A kettle should not be left connected to a wall socket when the room temperature is likely to fall to outdoor winter temperatures. At sub-zero temperatures, the automatic control thermostat may reset to boiler energize the element.
  • Do not use the kettle for any purpose other than heating water. Other liquids or food will contaminate the interior.
  • This product has not been designed for any other uses than those specified in this booklet.
  • Position the lid so that steam is directed away from the handle.
  • Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.

BEFORE USING

  1. Remove all packaging from the pickguard and its power base. Before using the damage for the first time or if it has not been used for a long time, fill it to the maximum mark and boil it. Then discard that water and rinse the necessary.
  2. Before connecting the appliance to the mains, check that the voltage indicated on the characteristics plate corresponds to the mains voltage in your home

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  1. Always remove the kettle from the electric base before filling.
  2. Raise the lid.
  3. Fill the upset with cold water between the MIN and MAX marks on the water level indicator.
  4. Close the lid. Make sure the lid is closed properly
  5. Place the kettle on the electric base.
  6. Plug the power base into the power outlet.
  7. To start boiling, push the ON/OFF switch down.
  8. The power indicator will light up and the will start working. NEVER REMOVE THE LID DURING THE BOILING PROCESS.
  9. When the water has boiled, the switch will turn on and work automatically. The power indicator will also turn off.
  10. You can stop the boiling process at any time by pressing up on the switch.
  11. After the overflow automatically shuts off, there may be a short delay before you can boil again. This is usually no more than 20 seconds.
  12. The safety switch will be activated if you accidentally turn on the thermostat when it is empty or let it run dry. Wait 15 minutes for the switch to reset before refilling with cold water and boiling.

CLEANING

  1. Always unplug the kettle from the mains and allow it to cool down completely before storing or cleaning.
  2. Never immerse any part of the power cord, plug, power base, or excess water or any other liquid.
  3. Wipe the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth. Dry well. Never use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning agents as they can damage your deteriorating finish.
  4. Over a period of time lime scale can build up inside your resister. To remove limescale, fill the kettle halfway with water and add juice from one lemon. Bring the water to a boil and let stand for 15 minutes before discarding. Repeat several times using only cold water.

DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

The European directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separately collected.
Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of their old appliance.
