A 4373 REMOTE VOLUME MODULE
A 4373 Remote Volume Module
This module is designed for use in the Redback® A 4037 and A 4377 range of amplifiers. The module provides a remote volume option to the amplifier when used with an A 2280B remote volume wall plate. The remote volume module features minimum and maximum volume settings which are user set. When fitted the master volume of the amplifier can be adjusted remotely via the remote wall plate. The A 2280B wall can be wired back to the rear of the amplifer to a maximum range of 100 metres.
FEATURES
- Maximum volume setting
- Minimum volume setting
- Australian designed and assembled
INSTALLATION
To install the Remote Volume Module, first remove power from the amplifier and
then remove the lid. The module is fitted onto the headers inside the
amplifier labelled “PLUGIN”.
Plug the module onto the headers taking care to make sure all pins are
connected correctly. Take special note of the orientation of the module (JP1
should be towards the rear of the amplifier), refer to figures 1 and 2 for
more details.
CONNECTION OF THE A 2280B REMOTE VOLUME WALL PLATE
To connect the A 2280B wall plate to the amplifier simply connect a figure 8
cable between the terminals on the rear of the amplifer labelled “Optional
Plugin”, and the terminals on the rear of the A 2280B as shown in figure 3.
Note: The connection can be made with any polarity.
SETTING THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM VOLUME
To set the minimum and maximum volume levels, the supplied Header Shunt needs
to be fitted to the header JP1 as per the following procedure. With the
amplifier running set the Master Volume to the desired volume, and with the A
2280B remote wall plate connected make sure the amplifier has the desired
volume range when adjusting the A 2280B wall plate.
To set the “Minimum Level” adjust the remote volume to the desired lower
volume level. Now fit the header shunt to the Centre and the Right pins of JP1
for a minimum of one second and then remove the header shunt. The minimum
volume level should now be set.
To set the “Maximum Level” adjust the remote volume to the desired upper
volume level. Now fit the header shunt to the Centre and the Left pins of JP1
for a minimum of one second and then remove the header shunt. The maximum
volume level should now be set.
