TPS Nutrients Product Information

  • TPS Nutrients is a suite of products for indoor and outdoor plant growth.
  • The nutrient levels of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sulfer, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Manganese, Boron, Copper & Zinc, and Molybdenum should be maintained within target pH ranges for optimal growth.
  • The TPS Component SeriesTM is a suite of products that can be used as supplements to your current feed regimen or as a system by following one of the feed charts provided.
  • Base A & Base B are foundational nutrients that are 100% water-soluble and provide immediate nutrition for plant uptake. These nutrients are designed to be used together with every feeding.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure an ideal environment for your plants by maintaining target pH ranges for the following soil types:
    • Soilless: 6.0
    • Soil: 6.0 – 6.8
    • Hydro: 6.0
  2. Use municipal or tap water for feeding your plants if PPM is less than 250. No pre-treatment is necessary.
  3. If well water is being used and contains calcium carbonate or magnesium carbonate, treat the water first before adding fertilizer. Soften the water by adding a small amount of Citric Acid to achieve a slightly acidic pH of 6.0 before mixing thoroughly and adding fertilizer.
  4. If reverse osmosis (RO) water is being used, buffer it with 30-50% tap (city) or well water. Alternatively, add a few mL per gallon of pH Up and pH down to add buffering capacity before mixing thoroughly and adding fertilizer.
  5. Use Base A & Base B together with every feeding for optimal results.
  6. Refer to the TPS Component SeriesTM feed charts on pages 7 – 9 for more information on using the suite of products as a system.
  7. Visit tpsnutrients.com for additional feed charts and information.

WATER SOURCES

MUNICIPAL OR TAP WATER
In most parts of the country, there is no need to pre-treat city water before feeding your plants. Generally, municipal or tap water has a balanced pH and inherent buffering capacity. If your tap water PPM is very high, eg. above 250PPM, consider using filtration to reduce the dissolved minerals before adding fertilizer.

WELL WATER
If your well has hard water and contains calcium carbonate or magnesium carbonate, it is best to treat the water first before adding fertilizer. If you don’t have a well water treatment system, the easiest way to do this is to soften the water by adding a small amount of Citric Acid. Aim for a slightly acidic pH of 6.0 then mix the water thoroughly before adding fertilizer.

REVERSE OSMOSIS (RO) WATER
This type of water source needs to be buffered to avoid pH issues. You can buffer your RO water with 30-50% tap (city) or well water. Alternatively, you can add a few mL per gallon of pH Up then a few mL of pH down to add buffering capacity. Mix thoroughly before adding any fertilizer.
