BRASCH GSE2-CM-24 Factory Calibration Kit
Overview
Brasch Generation 2 sensor boards are calibrated at the factory and have an
expected calibration duration of approximately two years. Environmental
conditions may shorten or prolong this period of time, but once the sensor
parameters drift outside of acceptable tolerances, the sensor board must be
either be recalibrated or replaced.
This document outlines the procedure for installing a factory calibration kit
of all Brasch Generation 2 sensor boards including:
Carbon Monoxide Models
- GSE2-CM-24
- GSE2-CM-120
- GSE2-CM-Remote
- TRNS2-CM-Analog
- TRNS2-CM-Digital
- GDCP-CM-Remote
Nitrogen Dioxide Models
- GSE2-ND-24
- GSE2-ND-120
- GSE2-ND-Remote
- TRNS2-ND-Analog
- TRNS2-ND-Digital
- GDCP-ND-Remote
Combination Models
- GSE2-NCM-24
- GSE2-NCM-120
- GSE2-NCM-Remote
- TRNS2-NCM-Analog
- TRNS2-NCM-Digital
- GDCP-NCM-Remote
Required
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Factory Calibration Kit
- Pliers (Long or Needle Nose)
Procedure
-
Loosen the two lid screws and open the enclosure
-
Turn power OFF to the sensor board
Verify the Green Power LED is dark before proceeding -
Remove all wire connections to the sensor board
Note the locations of these wires so they can be returned on the new board -
Remove the retaining screws
For local sensors, there are three retaining screws (6-32 x 1/4”)
For remote sensors, there are four retaining screws (10-24 x 1/4”) -
For local sensors only, pinch the locking standoff with a pair of pliers and gently lift on the closest corner of the sensor board
-
Extract the sensor board from the enclosure and set it aside
-
Make sure that all jumpers and switches on the new sensor board match those on the old sensor board
-
Place the new sensor board into the enclosure
-
Return the screws and tighten until the board is secure
-
Connect the wires to the sensor board in their original positions
Use the diagram on the following page for assistance -
Turn power ON to the sensor board
Verify the Green Power LED is illuminated before proceeding -
Close the lid and firmly tighten the two screws
-
Check for proper operation
Troubleshooting
- If any of the following errors are present, press firmly on the sensor itself to ensure it is fully seated in the socket on the PCB.
- Standalone Detectors: 9996
- BMS Transmitters: 0x0004
- Control Panel Remotes: Sensor # Missing
- If any of the following errors are present, check the wiring connections to the sensor board.
- Standalone Detectors: 960x
- BMS Transmitters: No Communication
- Control Panel Remotes: Sensor # Communication Loss
