SAFETY instructions

• WARNING! Ensure Health and Safety, local authority and general workshop practice regulations are adhered to when using tools.
• DO NOT use tools if damaged.
• Maintain tools in good and clean condition for best and safest performance.
• Ensure that a vehicle which has been jacked up is adequately supported with axle stands.
• Wear approved eye protection. A full range of personal safety equipment is available from your Sealey dealer.
• Wear suitable clothing to avoid snagging. DO NOT wear jewellery and tie back long hair.
• DO NOT use this tool when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.
• Account for all tools, locking bolts, pins and parts being used and do not leave them in or near the engine.
• WARNING! Always use this tool with the cylinder head removed from the vehicle, to avoid carbon entering the cylinder bores which may damage the engine.
• IMPORTANT : Always refer to the vehicle manufacturer’s service instructions, or a proprietary manual, to establish the current procedure and data.

INTRODUCTION

Set of seven diesel injector seat cleaners, ream, centring pilot and T-handle. Used to clean/decarbonise injector seats when changing injectors. Helps to avoid blow-back due to poorly seated injectors. Suitable for a wide range of vehicles.

OPERATION

• WARNING! Always use this tool with the cylinder head removed from the vehicle to avoid carbon entering the cylinder bores which may damage the engine.
• Remove the injector and sealing washer from the cylinder head.
• Select the appropriate reamer and fit onto the centring pilot, align the hex screw with the flat on the pilot and tighten using the 2.5mm hex key supplied.
• Connect the T-Bar to the centring pilot and position the tool into the injection aperture.
• Apply a small amount of lubricant to the injector seat and gently turn the reamer in a clockwise direction, until all the carbon deposits have been removed. DO NOT apply too much pressure and apply more lubricant if required.
• WARNING! Take care not to cut into the metal seat.

Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycle centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment.
