NOTIFIER UNP Paging Relay
The UNP Paging Relay from Syn-Apps® is a small PoE network appliance providing many features including unicast-to-multicast conversion that can eliminate bandwidth-intensive unicast streams across WAN connections. The Paging Relay enables fire alarm control panels, analog PA systems, analog security systems, physical contacts, and more to integrate seamlessly with the Honeywell ® UNP Unified Notification Platform.
Paging Relay Operation
This patented product allows UNP notifications sent in multicast format to be converted to unicast for multi-site, WAN-connected voice networks. The Paging Relay converts incoming streams back to multi-cast at the destination site used for delivery to the following appropriate end-points:
- IP phones
- IP speakers
- Traditional PA Systems-via analog audio via RCA or 600-ohm interfaces
The Paging Relay is small enough to hold in one hand and features plug-n-play technology, making installation as simple as connecting an Ethernet cable to a device.

- Easily integrates the fire alarm control panels with Honeywell UNP to activate notifications
- Unicast-to-multicast conversion
- Auto registration to Honeywell UNP via DHCP
- Up to 8MB on-board storage used for audio files or stored announcements
- 600 ohm and RCA line-out ports for overhead paging and analog systems
- Provides RCA analog audio input used for Background Music and Music On-Hold (MOH)
- Contains a SIP interface that allows SRST/CME fail-over support for the enhanced redundancy
- Sends trigger notifications when activated via the Sense-In port
- Contains a Web-based interface for customization and software upgrades
- Relay and Sensor Contact Closure functionality – Automatically plays audio files, control door and window entries, activates sirens/strobes, and more.
- Accepts commands from 3rd party systems to activate locally stored audio to play, reducing bandwidth consumption in WAN deployments
- Gain control for integration with external audio input devices (V4 units)
- Stream analog audio to IP Multicast for background music when integrated with the Honeywell UNP
