FAQs

General questions about maintenance:

How often should I clean the filters?

We suggest at least every month. Pet owners and neat freaks nay need to do so more often. Tap any loose dirt off filters between washes as needed.

Insert the felt filter first and then place the foam filter on top of it

How do I store the machine?

If you have the Wall mount:

Use the included wall mount. Drill two 5/16″ holes and insert plastic anchors into the wall. Using a Philips screwdriver, screw the wall mount into the plastic anchors. Hook the catch on the bottom of the handheld vacuum onto wall mount. Plastic anchors and screws sold separately

If you do not have or want to use the wall mount:

Press the Wand Release button on the top of the wand to release the handheld vacuum. Align the catch on the bottom of the handheld vacuum with the storage hook on the wand. Slide handheld vacuum down so that the catch hangs from the storage hook.

How do I empty the dust cup?

Press the Wand Release button on the top of the wand to disconnect it from the handheld vacuum.

Position the handheld vacuum so the dust cup is over a trash bin and press the “Empty” button on the front. The bottom lid will open, allowing the debris to fall out.

Once dust cup is empty, close the bottom lid.

How do I clean the dust screen inside the dust cup?

Open the dust cup by pressing the release button on the front of the dust cup.

The bottom lid will open, allowing the debris to fall out.

The debris screen can be seen at the top of the dust container. Wipe off any dust/debris/pet hair that could block their air from flowing through that screen.

How do I clean out the floor nozzle and the brush roll?

Use a coin to unlock the 3 locks on the bottom of the floor nozzle. A portion of the base is removable to allow for better access to the brush roll and exposure to the airway.

Shine a flashlight from the bottom to check for possible blockage in the airway .

Remove any string, carpet fibers or hair that may be wrapped around the brush roll.

Locate a groove on the brush bar. This will allow you to use a pair of scissors to cut across it and loosen up any debris.

General Questions:

What is the cone / screen inside the dustcup?

Inside the dustcup is a cone shaped debris screen which keeps the heavier dust and dirt away from the filters of your Rocket. This is the first step in our “Never Lose Suction” technology

How do I assemble the vacuum?

Insert the wand into the motorized floor nozzle connector until it clicks into place.

Insert the handheld vacuum into the top of the wand until it clicks into place.

Can I make it stand up straight unsupported?

No. To prevent the machine from falling, the rock should be stored with either: the wall bracket or taking the Rocket apart and storing the handheld portion on the storage hook at the bottom of the tube

How do I choose between floor and hard carpets?

Slide the Power switch on the handheld vacuum to the appropriate speed setting.

Bare Floor, Area Rugs (I)  – The brushroll spins slowly to clean bare floors and delicate area rugs.

High Pile Carpets (II)  – The brushroll spins faster to pick up debris below the surface of your carpets.

NOTE: For deep cleaning per ASTM F 608 (embedded dirt in carpets) please ensure switch is set to High Pile Carpets (II)
