Reference curing time

  • Data based on a drop of UV resin: diameter 20mm and thickness 2mm.
  • The data is only for your reference. The specific curing time depends on the size of your resin piece, as well as the glitters or pigments you add, and the temperature, the weather, etc.

UV-LED light: 60~90 seconds
UV light: 2~4 minutes
Sunlight(sunny): 5~15 minutes
Sunlight(cloudy): 20 minutes and above
Suggested UV lamp wattage: above 12W, but better not exceed 54W. If the wattage is too high, the UV resin will react too quickly and lead to crinkled surface or cause too many bubbles.

  • Not all nail lamps are compatible, make sure the wavelength of the lamp is 365nm and above.

How to work with pendant trays

Step1: Squeeze out a few drops of UV resin onto the pendant tray.
Lead the resin to the edges of the tray with a silicone stick. Make sure it covers the base.

Step2: Add anything you want onto the pendant tray.

Step3: Let it cure under UV light for 2 minutes.

Step4: You can skip to Step 5 if you don’t need to add anything. Put the sticker, or other suitable stuff, on the cured layer.
[Search “Let’s Resin insects stickers” to get the same bee sticker!]

Step5: Coat a layer of clear UV resin.
Make sure it covers the surface.

Step6: Let it cure under the UV light for 3-5 minutes. After it cools, assemble it with necklace cord.
Done!

How to work with frames

Step1: Cut and fix a section of resin tape with its sticky side up on a flat surface.

Step2: Put the frame on the tape and press the metal part to make it seamless with the tape.

Step3: Squeeze out a few drops of UV resin within the frame.
Lead the UV resin to the edges of the frame with a silicone stick.
Make sure it covers the base.

Step4: Let it cure under UV light for 2 minutes.

Step5 : Put the dry fern leaf, or other suitable stuff, on the cured layer.

Step6: Coat a layer of clear UV resin. Make sure it covers the surface.

Step7: Let it cure under UV light for 3-5 minutes. Do NOT touch it until it completely cools.
Then gently peel it off from the tape.

Step8: Coat a layer of clear UV resin on the back side which sticks to the tape.

Step9: Let it cure under the UV resin for 3-5 minutes. After it cools, assemble it with necklace cord.
Done!

How to work with dry flowers/stickers/paper products directly

It’s the similar way to make the mentioned items. We will take a paper sea star for example to show you the steps. [Search “Let’s Resin ocean creature stickers” to get the same paper sea star!]

Step1: Put the paper sea star on silicone mat. Squeeze out a few drops of UV resin onto the surface.

Step2: Lead the resin gently to the edges of the sea star with a silicone stick. Make sure it covers the surface.

Step3: Let it cure under the UV light for 2 minutes.
Try NOT to move the sea star after it covers with UV resin. Bring the light over to cure it.

Step4: Same way to coat the other side.
Glue a jump ring to the sea star with UV resin. Then coat another layer of clear UV resin and let it cure for 3-5 minutes.

Step5: After it cools, assemble it with necklace cord. Done!

Important Notice

  1. The curing process causes a strong heat, do not touch the resin piece when it’s still in curing process.

  2. Wear protective gloves. If necessary, put on respirator and goggles.

  3. Make sure the pigment dye you use is compatible with UV resin (some are just for epoxy resin).

  4. Adding too much supplies (like pigment dye, mica powder, glitters, etc) will block the light from going through the UV resin, then it may result in a sticky finish.

  5. Translucent molds are recommended.

  6. Do multiple layers if you need to make big castings. Too much UV resin may cause over-heat and over-reaction, resulting in an obviously shrinked or tacky finish product.
Less than 5mm for each layer is highly recommended.

  7. Layers less than 2mm may not be cured because of lacking enough curing agent.

  8. Avoid direct sunlight while you are working with the UV resin, or else it will cure.

  9. Always remember to put the cap back after use.

  10. Store it in a dry, cool and dark place.

Other Useful Tips:

  1. The viscosity of the resin may increase in low temperature, therefore causing more air bubbles. You can put the sealed bottle into a sealed plastic bag and heat them up with hot water, or using a heating pad, to reduce the bubbles.
  2. When you do castings in the mold, cure the surface with UV/LED lamp first, then flip over the mold and cure the bottom as well. Only applicable in translucent molds.
  3. Do not demold the UV resin casting immediately after being cured under the lamp.
Please wait until it completely cools down, or else it will leave fingerprints on the surface.

Tips of clearing the silicone cup and stick after use:

  1. Just leave it under the lamp when you cure the resin piece.
Then peel off the residue after it cures.LET S RESiN LR-UV UV Resin

  2. Wipe off the residue with tissue or baby wipe when it is still liquid.
