Important Safety Instructions

Icon Read these instructions carefully and retain them for future use. If this appliance is passed to a third party, then these instructions must be included.

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons including the following:

  • I This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before cleaning or maintaining the appliance.
  • Never use the appliance without the dust cup and filters installed. This could damage the motor and shorten the appliance’s lifespan.
  • Never use any of the nozzle or brushes on people, animals or plants.
  • Do not vacuum up anything which has been burning or smoking such as cigarettes, ashes or matches.
  • Do not vacuum up any water, liquid or damp dirt.
  • Do not vacuum up any inflammable or combustible liquids or gases and do not vacuum in areas where such substances are stored.
  • Keep body parts and clothing away from any openings or moving parts of the appliance.
  • Switch off the appliance before attaching, removing and cleaning the accessories.
  • Use only authorized accessories and replacement parts.
  • Use extra care when vacuuming on stairs.
  • Do not open the appliance housing. Do not insert any foreign objects into the inside of the appliance.
  • To avoid damaging the supply cord, do not squeeze, bend or chafe it on sharp edges. Keep it away from hot surfaces and open flames as well.
  • Lay out the supply cord in such a way that no unintentional pulling or tripping over it is possible.
  • Never operate the appliance with any air openings blocked. Keep ventilation openings free from the accumulation of lint, dust, and loose cloth.
  • This appliance is classified as protection class II. This means the appliance is equipped with reinforced or double insulation between the mains supply circuit and the output voltage or the casing. Therefore it does not require a safety connection to an electrical earth (ground).

  • This appliance is intended for dry vacuuming only. It is suitable for hard floors, carpets, furniture and similar surfaces.
  • This appliance is intended for household use only.
  • This appliance is intended to be used in dry indoor areas only.

Before First Use

DANGER

Keep any packaging materials away from children and pets — these materials are a potential source of danger, e.g. suffocation.

  • Remove all the packing materials.
  • Remove and review all components before use.
  • Check the appliance for transport damages.
  • Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, check that the power supply voltage and current rating corresponds with the power supply details shown on the appliance rating label.

Accessories Function

Multi-surface brush (5)

  • Mode: Suitable for cleaning rugs and low pile carpets.
  • Mode: Suitable for cleaning tiles and hard floors.

Parquet brush (U)

Suitable for cleaning wood floors, such as parquet and laminate floorings.

Upholstery nozzle (V)

Suitable for cleaning on fabric surfaces such as mattresses, couches, chairs and other fabric based pieces.

Dusting brush (W)

Suitable for cleaning on window blinds, shelves and wooden surfaces.

Crevice tool (X)

  • Suitable for cleaning in folds, crevices or corners.
  • Suitable for hard-to-reach areas, such as behind furniture and between and under car seats.

Assembly

NOTICE The appliance can be used without the extension tube (M). When the extension tube (M) is not used, attach the accessories (S/ U/ V/ W/ X) directly to the flexible hose (P).

  1. Insert the flexible hose (P) into the hose intake (A) (Fig. 1). When the flexible hose (P) is inserted correctly, there should be a click sound.

  2. Insert the handle of the flexible hose (P) into the extension tube (NI) (Fig. 2). When the flexible hose (P) is inserted correctly, there should be a click sound.

  3. Push the tube unlock switch (N) while pulling out the inner part of the extension tube (NI) to adjust the length (Fig. 3).

  4. Insert the extension tube (M) into the connector of the accessories (5/ U/ V/ WI X) (Fig. 4).

Operation

Switching on/off

  1. Pull the supply cord (J) out to the required length. The supply cord (J) should be up to the yellow mark, but no longer than the red mark (Fig. 5).

  2. Connect the plug (J) to a suitable socket-outlet.

  3. Press the on/off button (F) to switch the appliance on or off (Fig. 6).

Using the appliance

  1. Use the power suction control (Z) to increase or decrease the suction power.

  2. Use the suction control switch (Q) on the flexible hose (P) to increase or decrease the suction power (Fig. 7).

  3. After use, switch the appliance off and disconnect the plug (J).

  4. While pressing the cable winder button (H), hold the supply cord (J) with the other hand and slowly accompany it to rewind into the storage compartment. (Fig. 8).

Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING
Risk of electric shock!

  • To prevent electric shock, unplug the appliance before cleaning. I During cleaning do not immerse the electrical parts of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never hold the appliance under running water.
  • Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.

Cleaning
NOTICE Detach the accessories (S/ U/ V/ W/ X), including the flexible hose (P) and extension tube (M), from the appliance before cleaning.

  • To clean the appliance, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
  • Wipe the appliance dry after cleaning.
  • Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the appliance.

Empty the dust cup (B) when the amount of dust has reached the MAX FILL marking.

  1. Press the cup release buttons (D) to detach the dust cup (B) from the appliance (Fig. 9).

  2. Hover the dust cup (B) on top of a trash bin. Press the unlock button to dispose of the contents in the dust cup (8) (Fig. 10).

  3. Close the cover of the dust cup (B). Refit the dust cup (B) to the appliance.

Empty the dust cup (B) before cleaning it.

  1. Press the cup release buttons (D) to detach the dust cup (B) from the appliance (Fig. 9).

  2. Open the top lid by pulling its locking tab upwards (Fig. 11).

  3. Take the dust cup filter (C) out. Lift the cyclone collector from dust cup (B) (Fig. 12).

  4. Clean the dust cup (B) and cyclone collector using water and mild detergent.

  5. Dry the parts thoroughly before reassembling and refitting to the appliance.

Cleaning the dust cup filter

  1. Press the cup release buttons (D) to detach the dust cup (8) from the appliance (Fig. 9).

  2. Open the top lid by pulling its locking tab outwards.

  3. Take the dust cup filter (C) (the filter frame and the foam inlay) out (Fig. 13).

  4. Tap the filter frame gently to remove any excess dust and  debris.

  5. Rinse the filter frame and the foam inlay under running water.

  6. Leave the filter frame and the foam inlay to dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours. Avoid exposing to direct sunlight.

  7. Refit the dust cup filter (C) to the top lid afterwards.
    NOTICE Replace the dust cup filter (C) with an identical replacement part (model: 1217500009070) every 3 months or when it is heavily soiled.

Cleaning the HEPA filter

NOTICE

  • Depending on usage frequency, it is recommended to clean the motor filter at least twice a year or when it is visibly dirty. A clogged filter can reduce the appliance’s airflow and cause the motor to overheat.
  • Replace the HEPA filter (L) with an identical replacement part (model: 1217500004727) when needed.
  1. Push the locking tab to the left to release the air outlet grille (K) (Fig. 14).

  2. Take the HEPA filter (L) out by gently pressing down the tab on top of the HEPA filter (L) (Fig. 15).

  3. Rinse the HEPA filter (L) with warm water to wash away dust
    build-up and residue.

  4. Leave the HEPA filter (L) to dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours. Avoid exposing to direct sunlight.

  5. Refit the parts afterwards.

Storage

  • Clip the accessory holder (Y) on the extension tube (M) for storing the small accessories (U/ V/ W) (Fig. 16).

  • Fit the multi-surface brush (S) on the multi-surface brush holder (G) on the rear of the appliance (Fig. 17).

  • Rewind the supply cord (J) fully before storage.

  • Store the appliance in its original packaging in a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.

Maintenance

Any other servicing than mentioned in this manual should be performed by a professional repair centre.

Problem: Solution

The appliance does not switch on.

  • Check if the plug is connected to the socket outlet.
  • Use voltage tester to verify if the socket outlet is powered.
  • Check if the dust cup is correctly locked in place.

The appliance switches off suddenly.

The appliance overheats. Clear blockages from any of the accessories (S/ U/ V/ W/ X) and clean dust cup (8) and filters (C/ L). Allow the appliance to cool down for at least 30 minutes before switching it on.

The suction power is weak.

  • Empty and clean the dust cup (8).
  • Check if the flexible hose (P), extension tube (M), or any of the accessories (S/ U/ V/ W/ X) are obstructed.
  • Remove and clean the filters (C/ L).

Motor is abnormally noisy.

Check if the flexible hose (P), extension tube (M), or any of the accessories (S/U/ V/ W/X) are obstructed and remove the obstruction. Stop using the appliance if the noise persists. Contact a professional centre for inspection and repair.
