48-22-8485 PACKOUT Wall and Floor Mounting Plate

The PACKOUT™ Mounting Plate can be installed several different ways for vehicle and shop use.
WARNING
Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in serious injury and/or property  damage. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

  • Always use common sense and be cautious when using and installing mounting plate. It is not possible to anticipate every situation that could result in a dangerous  outcome. Do not use this product if you do not understand these instructions or you feel the work is beyond your capability; contact Milwaukee Tool or a trained  professional for additional information or training.
  • To reduce the risk of injury when used in a vehicle, install according to vehicle manufacturer’s instructions. A bulkhead must be properly installed to provide protection  between the PACKOUT™ and the occupant.
  • Do not transport AC-equipped products vertically on a vehicle wall. If product is damaged during transport, it could cause an electrical hazard when plugged in. Always  inspect AC products before connecting to a power source.
  • Use only fasteners recommended in the installation instructions. Do not use other fasteners, such as self-tapping or drywall screws.
  • Inspect the mounting plate and all fasteners periodically and replace immediately if cracked, worn, or damaged. Do not attempt to fix or mend damaged mounting plates  or fasteners.
  • If a loaded mounting plate has received an impact or is involved in an accident, MILWAUKEE recommends you replace the mounting plate and mounting fasteners  before future use.
  • Ensure PACKOUT™ is secured before vehicle is in motion. Do not use, adjust or modify PACKOUT™ while vehicle is in motion.
  • Use cam-lock style straps for in-vehicle applications. Ratchet straps can result in over tightening and product damage. (Integrated only exist in 48-22-8485).
  • When wall mounting in a vehicle, only use with PACKOUT™ productsthat can be locked directly to the mounting plate (e.g., do not use with a crate with back cleats).  Hook-only products can fall when jarred or bumped.
  • Do not exceed maximum loading capacity (see Specifications). Overloading can cause mounting plate to come loose and break free, resulting in injury and product  damage.

IN-VEHICLE MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury when used in a vehicle, install according to vehicle manufacturer’s instructions. A bulk- head must be properly installed to provide protection  between the PACKOUT™ and the occupant.
Use cam-lock style straps for in-vehicle applications. Ratchet straps can result in over tightening and product damage.
Only use with PACKOUT™ products that can be locked directly to the mounting plate (e.g., do not use with a crate with back cleats). Hook-only products can fall when   jarred or bumped.  Orientate the mounting plate as indicated, taking into account the direction of travel and, if necessary, wall orientation.
Mounting plate must be installed on flat, smooth walls or floors. Uneven surfaces could cause the mounting plate to warp, resulting in possible problems when installing  PACKOUT™ products.
Use the below recommended fasteners in all mounting holes.
If installing into Wood:

  • Install onto dimensional lumber (2×4 or larger) or 3/4″ thick plywood

  • Use Ø 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws
    If installing into Sheet Metal:

  • Install onto minimum 22 gauge sheet metal.

  • Use Ø 1/4″-20 Threaded Inserts such as screw-to-install rivet nuts (jack nuts)

  • Use medium strength (blue) liquid threadlocker

IN-SHOP MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

Position the mounting plate as indicated, taking into account the wall orientation.
Mounting plate must be installed on a flat, even surface. An uneven surface could cause the mounting plate to warp, resulting in possible problems when installing  PACKOUT™ products.
For  maximum support, attach to 16″ center studs whenever possible. At minimum, use the recommended fasteners in all mounting holes circled BOLD in the diagrams  below.
If installing into Wood:

  • Install onto dimensional lumber (2×4 or larger) or 3/4″ thick plywood

  • Use Ø 1/4″ x 1-1/4″ lag screws
If installing into Concrete or Drywall:

  • Use suitable anchors rated to at least 50 lb. per anchor
