IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions.
  2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  4. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. Use pot holders when removing hot containers.
  5. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or base in water or other liquid.
  6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
  7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged supply cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Supply cord replacement and repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Contact Customer Service for information on examination, repair, or adjustment as set forth in the Limited Warranty.
  8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  9. Do not use outdoors.
  10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces, including stove.
  11. Do not place on or near hot gas or an electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  12. Do not warm liquids such as soups, or foods with high liquid/oil content.
  13. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall or 12-volt outlet. To disconnect, always remove cord plug from the outlet first, then remove plug from appliance. To unplug, grasp the plug and remove from outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
  14. Do no use appliance for other than intended use.
  15. CAUTION! To prevent damage or shock hazard, do not warm food in base. Warm food only in removable food tray.
  16. WARNING! Spilled food can cause serious burns. Keep appliance and cord away from children. Never drape cord over edge of counter, never use outlet below counter, and never use with an extension cord.
  17. Food tray may remain hot after unit is turned off.
  18. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as adding refrigerated foods into a heated food tray.
  19. CAUTION: HOT SURFACE. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
  20. Do not use food warmer while driving.
  21. Do not place carry case in oven or microwave.
  22. Only use carry case with this food warmer.
  23. Do not operate food warmer while in the carry case.
  24. To reduce spills and leaking, the food warmer must be completely secured and should be kept stable and level. Apply these same instructions when storing in carry case.
  25. Power cord (part 11) and car adapter (part 12) must only be used on this food warmer. Do not use on other products.

Household Use Only. This appliance is only intended for the serving of foods. This appliance is not intended for use with any nonfood materials or products.

WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard: This appliance is provided with a polarized plug (one wide blade) to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.

A short power-supply cord is used to reduce the risk resulting from it being grabbed by children, becoming entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord. To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another highwattage appliance on the same circuit with this appliance.

Before first use: Wash Stainless Steel Food Tray, Food Tray Cover, Lid, Fork and Spoon in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.

How to Use

WARNING Food Safety Hazard.

  • Food must be hot enough to prevent bacterial growth. This is a food warmer and is NOT a slow cooker. Food warmer must NOT be used to warm uncooked or undercooked foods. Food warmer should only be used to warm recipes involving thoroughly cooked ingredients. Visit foodsafety.gov for more information.
  • Power cord (part 11) and car adapter (part 12) must only be used on this food warmer. Do not use on other products.

Tips Before First Use

  • The night before or day of use, place fully cooked food in Food Tray. Slice thicker cuts of food and place in Food Tray first. Add Food Tray Cover and store in refrigerator until ready to use.
  • Begin reheating food at least 1 hour before you plan to eat. If Food Tray has been stored in the refrigerator, allow additional time to reheat.
  • Warming time may vary based on volume and thickness of food.
  • Do not warm liquids such as soups, or foods with high liquid/oil content.
  • Do not place Base in refrigerator.
  • Do not use Food Warmer while driving.
  • Always carry Food Warmer by Lid Handle.
  • Portable Food Warmer should only be used to reheat thoroughly cooked food.
  • Select Cord based on where you are warming your food.
  • Do not place Food Warmer in freezer or microwave.
  • Do not operate Food Warmer while in Carry Case.
  1. Place Removable Stainless Steel Food Tray onto Base and add Food Tray Cover. Always use Food Tray Cover when heating food.

  2. Add Lid onto Base and move Lid Latches down to lock Lid in place.

  3. a. Plug 120-Volt Detachable Electrical Power Cord into Plug-In on Base. Then, plug into electrical outlet. Orange Power Indicator Light will illuminate.Hamilton-Beach-33105-Portable-Food-Warmer-5
    b. Plug 12-Volt Detachable Car Adapter into Plug-In on Base. Then, plug other end into car outlet. Red Power Indicator Light will illuminate.
    NOTE: Begin reheating food at least 1 hour before you plan to eat.

  4. Unplug before eating.

  5. Lift Lid Latches up and remove Lid. Carefully lift Food Tray Cover to avoid condensation that collects on underside of Cover. Do not remove Food Tray, eat directly from Food Tray; in Base.

  6. Allow all parts to cool before cleaning.

Care and Cleaning

  1. Unplug and let cool.
  2. Wash Lid with Handle in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  3. Stainless Steel Food Tray, Food Tray Cover, Fork and Spoon are dishwasher safe. DO NOT use “SANITIZE” setting when washing in dishwasher. SANITIZE cycle temperatures could damage your product.
  4. Wipe Base with a soft damp cloth. Base should never be submerged in water or other liquid.

Troubleshooting

Food is not warm.

  • Check to make sure both ends of Cord are plugged in.
  • Check to see if Orange or Red Power Indicator Light is on.
  • Increase warming time.

Red or Orange Power Indicator Light is not illuminating.

  • Check to see if both ends of cord are plugged in. Then, see if Power Indicator Light is illuminated.

Limited Warranty

This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and Canada. This is the only express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other warranty or condition. This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of original purchase in Canada and one (1) year from the date of original purchase in the U.S. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or any component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning a product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value.

This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or subjected to any voltage and waveform other than as specified on the rating label (e.g., 120V ~ 60 Hz).

We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages caused by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the amount of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including any statutory warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case such warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other legal rights that vary depending on where you live. Some states or provinces do not allow limitations on implied warranties or special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you.
