Introduction
MH901 is a portable battery operated GSM PIR motion detector alarm. When the PIR detects movement, the unit will emit a 130 decibel siren. Providing you have installed a GSM SIM card(not supplied) the MH901 will send an SMS and dial up to 3 preset telephone numbers. You have a choice of wall mounting or free standing the unit for easy installation.
What’s in the box
Check and identify the contents of your package :
- 1 x Main unit
- 1 x Remote fob
- 2 x Fixing screws to secure rotary bracket to the wall
- 1 x Fixing screw to secure rotary bracket to battery back cover
- User manual
Note: The screws will be found in a plastic bag in the battery compartment “M”.

GSM SIM Card & BATTERY INSTALLATION
- Remove the back plate/battery cover by removing the two philips screws on the reverse of the unit.
- Install the GSM SIM card as per the diagram “J”. Make sure that the SIM card clicks into position. To remove push the SIM card forward and the SIM card will release.
- Install 3XAA size Alkaline batteries(not supplied) making sure that you follow the polarity of the markings in the battery compartment “M”. Once the final battery has been installed you will hear a beep to confirm that the batteries have been installed correctly.
- LED battery Indicator: Replace batteries when the red LED “F” remains on.
- Make sure that the verification of the SIM card is closed,do not use a pin number.
DO NOT REPLACE THE BATTERY/BACK COVER UNTIL YOU HAVE PROGRAMMED THE UNIT.
Programming the remote fob
To programme the remote fob press the learn button code button “L” on the
MH901 and then push the learn code button “C” on the side of the remote at the
same time.You will hear 2 beeps, this will indicate that the code has been
paired with the unit and the remote fob.
NOTE: if you wish to deactivate the remote fob, press and hold the learn
code button “L” of the main unit while removing one of the batteries for at
least for 5 seconds. Keep on holding the learn code button and reinsert the
battery. You will hear a triple beep indicates that the remote has been erased
from the memory. Then release the learn code button. Then the remote can’t
control the main unit again.
Recording a voice message
- In the disarm mode press “L” learn button
- Press # 1 # on the keypad “i”
- green LED light “F” will illuminate you now have 6seconds to record your personal message(speak clearly into the microphone “K”). If you wish to change your personal message follow the procedure above.
Programming the phone numbers
In the disarm mode press “L” learn button, assuming the phone number is “123456789” as an example:
- Press 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 to store the 1st telephone number ;
- Press 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 to store the 2nd telephone number ;
- Press 3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 to store the 3rd telephone number ;
- The green LED will flash 3 times to indicate that the numbers have been stored correctly.
• A total of 3 sets of telephone numbers with a maximum of 17 digits can be programmed.
To delete the stored numbers, press 1 ; 2 ; 3 ; the green LED will flash 3 times to indicate that the numbers have been deleted.
Silent mode setting

To disable the siren (the alarm will have no siren when it’s triggered) :
1 In the disarm mode press “L” learn button, press 7 ;
2 One “beep” will be sounded. -
To reactivate the siren (the siren will be resumed when the alarm is triggered) :
1 Under disarm mode, press Learn button 7 ;
2 Two “beep” will be sounded.
Activating / Deactivating SMS function
-
To deactivate SMS function (the alarm will not send SMS but dial when it’s triggered) :
1 In the disarm mode press “L” learn button, then press # 9 # ;
2 One “beep” will be sounded. -
To reactivate SMS function (the alarm will send SMS and dial when it’s triggered) :
1 Under disarm mode, press Learn button # 9 # ;
2 Two “beep” will be sounded.
THE SET UP PROCEDURE IS NOW COMPLETE
Attach the rotary mounting bracket to the back plate/battery cover and
refit to the unit securing with the screws supplied.
OPERATION
Exiting the protected area
When exiting the protected area press the “ARM” button on the remote fob. You
will hear a beep to confirm that the unit has armed, you now have 30 seconds
to vacate the area. If motion is detected in the arm mode the alarm will sound
for 30 seconds dial and send an SMS to the preset telephone numbers.
Entering the protected area
When you enter the protected area you will hear a short beep to confirm that
the PIR has detected. You now have 5 seconds to disarm the unit. Simply press
the “CLR” button on the remote handset, this will disarm the unit.
Detection range:
The PIR motion detector has a range of up-to 10 meters with approximate angles
of 90 degrees vertical and 140 degrees horizontal.
Pairing with other devices
MH901 (the wireless GSM PIR motion alarm) is a master unit. It can be paired
with different slave units such as PIR video camera, PIR motion sensor alarm,
door and window sensor alarm, mini siren box etc.
All of the below models are compatible with MH901. Once they learn the
programme code from the same remote fob as MH901, they can be paired with
MH901 to construct the whole alarm system. MH801 / MH802 / MH803 / MH804 /
MH806 / MH807/MH810
IMPORTANT
PLEASE CHECK WITH THE SUPPLIER OF YOUR GSM SIM CARD THAT THEY HAVE SUFFICIENT
NETWORK COVERAGE FOR THE AREA THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO INSTALL THE MH901.
