  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)  with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use.
  • Do not insert fingers/foreign objects into any holes.
  • Only use this appliance with the voltage specified on the cabinet rating label.
  • Ensure the appliance has adequate ventilation as this is essential to economical, high performance.
  • Be careful not to touch moving parts and hot surfaces.
  • For your own safety and that of others, ensure that all electrical work is done by authorised personnel.
  • If the power supply flexible cord becomes damaged, it must be replaced by an authorised service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Ensure all necessary safety precautions are observed during installation or removal of the refrigeration unit.
  • The appliance is not designed to be stable while in motion. Use extreme caution when moving or transporting it.
  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
  • If the cabinet is to be scrapped, ensure the cabinet is unplugged from the power supply and cut off the mains flex close to the back of the cabinet. Be mindful of the risk of animals or children becoming trapped in the appliance – either remove or secure doors if necessary.
  • Refrigerant must be removed by a qualified service person and the  cabinet recycled/disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Warning

  • Should defrosting be necessary, turn off the refrigeration system and allow the ice to melt by air circulation. Do not use mechanical methods to remove ice, as this may damage the refrigeration circuit.
  • Do not use any electrical appliances inside the food storage compartment.
  • Do not modify the appliance in any way.

CAUTION
Never overload the power supply, which could damage the cabinet and product. See the rating label inside the cabinet for the safe power supply and current draw.

WARNING
Always disconnect the cabinet from the mains power supply before cleaning or maintenance.

WARNING
The refrigeration system contains flammable R600a.

Unpacking

Remove all packing material from the inside and outside the cabinet, including the foam base and all adhesive tape holding the cabinet accessories.

Shelves
The cabinet is supplied with two shelves. Remove the packing material, then position the shelves into the cabinet at the desired heights. The bottom shelf has hooks on the back which lock the shelf in position.

Positioning

Climate Class
The chiller is designed to operate safely within a climatic class 5 environment (40°C @ 40% relative humidity). To ensure correct operation and efficient operation, the maximum ambient temperature at the place of installation should not exceed 32°C.

Power Supply
The cabinet is supplied with a power cord fitted with a 3-pin plug, which exits behind the refrigeration system. Retrieve the power cord before positioning the cabinet. Ensure the power supply can be easily accessed once the cabinet is positioned so the cabinet can be disconnected from the power supply for cleaning and maintenance.

Ventilation
Ensure adequate ventilation is provided around the cabinet. Do not place the cabinet in a recess or enclose it in another cabinet. It is designed for free- standing installation only. The recommended clearance on both sides and at the back of the cabinet is 50mm.

Location When positioning the cabinet:

  • Avoid direct sunlight, warm draughts etc.
  • Allow adequate space for the door to open fully.
  • Ensure the cabinet is positioned on a level surface so the door shuts  and seals correctly, and to prevent the condensate tray from overflowing.

Levelling
This cabinet has a stabiliser foot located underneath the door hinge. After final positioning, the stabiliser foot should be screwed firmly down to floor level to stabilise the cabinet. Turn the stabiliser foot clockwise to raise the cabinet or anti-clockwise to lower the cabinet.

Operation

If the cabinet has been disconnected from the power supply for any reason, allow about 10 minutes before switching it back on. This allows the refrigeration system pressure to equalise before the system is restarted.
Before operating, ensure that:

  • The cabinet is positioned on a level surface.
  • The maximum operating temperature is no greater than 32°C.
  • There is adequate ventilation around the refrigeration system.
  • There is a gap of at least 50mm around the cabinet.
  • The plastic drain pin (included in the bag with the user manual) is placed into the drain hole at the bottom of the cabinet (see image below). This prevents objects from covering the drain hole.

Refrigeration System
The evaporator fan (located inside the cabinet) should operate continuously from the time the cabinet is plugged in. This may be verified by checking for air movement inside the cabinet. The thermostat will click when the refrigeration system cycles on and off.

Cabinet Light
The cabinet interior LED light is controlled by the light switch next to the thermostat knob inside the cabinet. The LED light is non-serviceable and must not be tampered with in any way. If the light is suspected of being faulty, arrange a service call.

Loading
The cabinet should be left running for 30 minutes to allow the cabinet to cool down before loading with product. When loading the cabinet shelves with product:

  • Allow air space around all the product for even cooling and efficient operation of the cabinet.
  • Do not exceed a maximum of 15 kg per shelf.
  • Do not allow products to overhang the front or rear of the shelves, as this will affect air flow.
  • Do not obstruct air flow from the evaporator fan (inside the cabinet).
  • Do not block the drain hole inside the cabinet.

Temperature Adjustment
The storage temperature of the cabinet is regulated by a thermostat located at the back of the cabinet interior. The thermostat temperature setting is preset at the factory and should not need to be adjusted.
The thermostat knob is goes from 0 to 6, with 1 being the warmest and 6 being the coldest. The normal temperature setting is between 2 and 3.
If further adjustment is required:

  • To make colder – turn the thermostat knob clockwise.
  • To make warmer – turn the thermostat knob anti-clockwise.

IMPORTANT
Turning the thermostat knob to ‘0’ will switch the refrigeration cooling system off (the cabinet fan and lights will stay on). Do this to defrost the cabinet if a build up of ice occurs.

Door Lock
The chiller is fitted with a security door lock. Use the supplied keys to PUSH and turn the lock.

Maintenance

Cleaning
WARNING
Disconnect the cabinet from the mains power supply before attempting any cleaning or maintenance.
To ensure the chiller continues to run efficiently and reliably, perform routine maintenance. Time frames specified are indicative only. More regular cleaning and servicing may be required depending on cabinet placement and operating environment.

Cabinet
Keep the interior and exterior of the cabinet clean by wiping regularly with a damp cloth, taking care to keep moisture away from electrical parts. At the same time check the condensation drain hole inside the cabinet, to ensure that any condensation is draining properly. Do not flush the cabinet with water.
Many commercially available cleaning products contain solvents that may attack the plastic components of this product and cause them to crack. It is important to use only warm water and a small amount of detergent when cleaning this cabinet. Do not use abrasive or corrosive cleaners or boiling water.
Clean the door gasket once every three months.
If ice builds up inside the cabinet, turn the thermostat knob to ‘0’ to switch the cooling system off (the cabinet fan and lights will stay on). Once the cabinet is defrosted, turn the thermostat knob back to the normal temperature setting (see page 8).

Condenser Coil
Clean the condenser coil, located at the back of the cabinet, at least every three months with a soft brush to remove any dust build-up (see instructions on page 11).

Regular Services
Arrange a thorough service clean by qualified service personnel every six months.

Condenser Coil
The condenser coil is located at the back of the cabinet and should be brushed regularly to remove any build up of dust. Disconnect the cabinet from the power supply before cleaning the condenser coil. To prevent damage to the coil coating, use a soft brush.

Servicing
This refrigerator must only be serviced by SKOPE authorised service agents. Only SKOPE-authorised and supplied parts specified for this model may be used.

Cabinet Light
The cabinet interior light is non-serviceable and must not be tampered with in any way. If the light is suspected of being faulty, arrange a service call.
