Getting Started
Before Cutting Hair
Remove any packaging material and labels before using your Hair Clippers for
the first time. Fully unwind the USB cord and inspect it for damage. Do not
use the appliance if any part has been damaged. In case of damage, contact our
after-sales support line for advice on a replacement or return.
Charging the Battery
- Before using your Hair Clipper for the first time, charge it fully for 4 hours
- Plug the USB charging cord into your Hair Clippers and then plug the USB end into a USB power source. Please ensure that the Hair Clippers ON/OFF switch is OFF. The charging indicator light will glow red to indicate that it is charging and turns to green once fully charged
Optimising the Lifetime of the Rechargeable Batteries
Discharge the rechargeable batteries completely twice a year by letting the
motor run until it stops. Then fully recharge the batteries.
Changing the Combs
- Switch the clipper off before changing the combs
- To attach the combs, hold the comb with the teeth facing up and snap it firmly to the bottom of the clipper blade (Fig 1).
WARNING! INJURIES & MATERIAL DAMAGE DUE TO INCORRECT HANDLING. **DO NOT
USE THE APPLIANCE IF THE TEETH ARE DAMAGED OR MISSING FROM THE BLADE OR IF THE
BLADES ARE MISALIGNED AS INJURY MAY OCCUR
Lubricating the Blades**
It is highly recommended before each use to lubricate the blades with the oil
provided. This ensures optimum cutting performance.
- Plug the USB cord into a USB power adaptor and ensure it is switched ON
- Use the oil supplied to lubricate the Hair Clipper. Unscrew the cap and cut off the tip of the oil tube with a pair of scissors
- Switch on the Hair Clipper, then gently squeeze the oil tube, applying 2 drops onto the blades (Fig 2). Leave the Hair Clipper switched ON for a further few seconds to allow the oil spread thoroughly along the length of the blades. Then, switch OFF the unit and remove any excess oil using a cloth
NOTE: To lubricate the blades, ensure the unit is switched ON.
Cutting Guide
Always inspect the appliance before use to ensure the clipper blades are free
from hair, debris etc. For best performance, use on clean, dry hair that has
been combed and is tangle-free
-
Select the desired attachment guide comb (numbered from 3 as the shortest to 25 as the longest length) and place the groove of the cutting guide onto the blades’ tip at the top of the Hair Clipper (Fig 3). Firmly press the rear of the Attachment Comb onto the end of the blade until it ‘clicks’ and locks into position (Fig 4)
NOTE: You can adjust the height of the blade by pushing down the Taper Lever -
Place the cape around the neck of the person whose hair is being trimmed or cut.
TIP: This person should be seated so that the top of their head is at your eye level -
Comb the hair as it is normally styled, be sure to comb out all knots and tangles
-
Hold the Hair Clipper in the palm of one hand and with your thumb resting firmly on the top of the Hair Clipper. This grip provides comfortable cutting control
NOTE: Although the Hair Clipper may be used left or right handed, using it right handed allows you to access the taper lever more easily
TIP: Ensure the hair is dry. Hair Clippers perform best with dry hair, making it easier to see how much hair is being cut -
To remove Attachment Comb, ensure the Hair Clipper is switched off. Pull the release tab on the rear of the Attachment Comb away from the blade and lift off
Taper Control
- The Taper Lever enables fine cut adjustment for precision clipping
- To increase the cutting length, push the lever down
- To reduce the cutting length, push the lever up
Tips for Cutting Hair
Step 1 – Nape of the neck
- Allow the clipper to cut through the hair without forcing it at a faster rate
- Use short strokes when cutting and initially use a long attachment comb. You can always use a shorter attachment comb later if you want a closer cut.
- Use 3mm or 6mm guide comb
- Hold the Hair Clipper with the blade teeth pointing upwards. Begin at the centre of the head at the base of the neck
- Slowly lift the Hair Clipper, work your way up and outwards through the hair, trimming just a little at a time
Step 2 – Back & Side of the Head
- With the 10mm or 13mm guide comb, cut the hair at the back of the head
Step 3 – Side of the Head
- With the 10mm or 13mm guide comb, trim sideburns
- Then change to the longer 22mm guide comb and continue to cut the top of the head
Step 4 – Top of the Head
- Using the 25mm guide comb, cut the hair on the top of the head against the direction in which the hair normally grows
- For longer hair, use the scissors provided. Lift the hair on the top of the head with your fingers & cut to the desired length
- Always work from the back of the head
Step 5 – To Finish
- Use the Hair Clippers without any attachment comb for close trimming around the base and sides of the neck
- To produce a clean straight line at the sideburns, reverse the clipper. Place the Hair Clippers at right angles to the head, tips of the blade lightly touching the skin and work downwards.
Creating an All-Over Even Cut
- Hold the Hair Clipper to the front of your hair with the blades pointing towards the back of your head and move the Hair Clipper towards your crown. Repeat as necessary, moving in rows from the front and the sides of your head to the back
- You should achieve an even length cut all over your head
Outlining
- To tidy up the edges around your cut e.g. neckline and sideburns, detach the attachment comb
- Hold the appliance upside down, so the front of the Hair Clipper is facing towards your head
- Hold the Hair Clipper straight on your sideburns or neckline and move the Hair Clipper downwards. This will give you a clean, smooth finish
Storage
- When not in use, unplug the appliance and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry location. Never wrap the cord around the appliance as this will cause the cord to wear prematurely and break. Handle the cord carefully, and avoid jerking, twisting or straining especially at plug connections.
