PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCEEDING
PorTronix thanks you for choosing a JBA Performance Exhaust Product. To
realize the potential of JBA’s engineering and excellent ft. Please Read and
Understand these instructions completely prior to starting the installation.
Check that you received all the parts listed on the parts list, if you hava
any concerns, please contact PerTronix before continuing. Headers will have
the part number stamped in the flange. Work Smart Work Safe! Most Header and
Exhaust Installation are best performed on a lift. If a lift is not available,
raise the vehicle and support on quality Jack Stands on level ground. Do not
rely on a jack! We use scaling brads on all our headers. The raised bead
creates a better seal virtually criminating leaks if installed properly. It is
important lo install all header bolls lightly snug and then lighten lo factory
torque specs starting in the center and working outward. Before starting.
allow the vehicle to coal, disconnect that battery, and spray oil on all
hardware and fittings that will need to be removed. Once you remover your
manifold, clean the sealing surface on the hoed of any old gasket debris or
carbon build up.

From underneath the vehicle disconnect the exhaust system from the exhaust manifolds by unbolting the (3) bolts at the collectors. Then unbolt the driver side catalytic converter from the exhaust assembly and temporarily remove it from the vehicle.
PASSENGER SIDE -
Remove the (4) bolts attaching the heat shields to the factory manifold. Carefully unplug the 02 sensor from its harness.

Remove the nuts attaching the air tube to the manifold. Loosen the air tube on the other end to allow some flexibility. Remove the nuts attaching the factory manifold to the cylinder head. Remove
the manifold; retain the air tube gasket, and nuts. Retain the factory gasket for re-use. -
Clean the sealing surface on the cylinder head.

Install a collector bolt into the hole below 02 sensor, it will be trapped by the sensor and you won’t be able to fit the bolt in after the 02 sensor is in the header. Apply a small amount of anti seize to the
02 sensor and install it in the header. -
Install the new JBA Header using the supplied gasket and fasteners. Tighten evenly working from the center out. Re-connect the air tube, and then tighten the other end.
DRIVER’S SIDE -
Remove the (4) bolts attaching the heat shields to the factory manifold. Carefully unplug the 02 sensor from its harness. Unbolt the dipstick bracket from the head and remove the dipstick tube.

Remove the nuts attaching the air tube to the manifold. Loosen the air tube on the other end to al- low some flexibility. Now remove the nuts attaching the factory manifold to the cylinder head. Remove
the manifold; retain the air tube gasket, and nuts. Retain the factory gasket for re-use. -
Clean the sealing surface on the cylinder head.

Install the driver side catalytic converter. Connect the exhaust system to the new headers using hardware and gaskets supplied. Reconnect 02 sensors

Check to insure adequate clearance between header and shifter cable. More clearance can be gained by adjusting (bending) the brace on fender well.

Start the engine and let it warm up Check for leaks. Shut engine off and let it cool down. Check to make sure all fasteners are tight.

All tubular headers require maintenance including periodically checking and retightening of the header bolts.

This label must be installed in an underhold location that is easily visible.
JBA LIMITED WARRANTY
All JBA Headers and Exhaust products are guaranteed, to the original purchaser, to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for one year. This warranty covers the replacement or repair of the product only and does not cover the cost of removal and installation, customer applied aftermarket coatings or any discoloration or corrosion of finished surfaces. Damage or product failure resulting from collision, improper installation, off-road use, road hazards, the use of exhaust insulating wrap or like products or rust occurring after installation, is not covered by the warranty. The warranty extends only to the original purchaser. Should a part become defective it should be retuned to the original selling retailer and must be accompanied with the sales receipt. If there is no retailer in your area call the factory for a return authorization and return your part prepaid to the factory for inspection. PerTronix reserves the rights to replace or repair the alleged defective part and return the part freight collect.
