INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Product Description
The device detects the movements and the presence of persons using a passive
infrared sensor (PIR). It reacts most sensitively to movements that are
tangential to the monitored area.
Movements directly towards the detector have a reduced sensitivity of approx.
-50%.
The switching duration is extended as long as movements (entire area) or the
presence of persons (presence area) are detected.
Application
The detector is used to increase the detection range of a Master detector
(41720 or 41721).
The detector is designed for ceiling installation.
Adhere to the following during installation:
Range
The recommended installation height for this detector is 2–3,5 m, 2,5 is the
optimal installation height. At this height, the detector has a range of Ø 20
m on the floor and Ø 13,5 m at a table height of 80 cm.
It is possible to connect up to 10 secondary detectors to one Master which
controls the load according to its settings. To achieve complete coverage by
using several detectors, it is recommended to have an overlap of approximately
30% (2).
Safety notes
Ensure that the electrical lines are de-energized before installation. Installation is only permitted by electricians in compliance with local legislation.
Installation
The detector is intended for ceiling installation at a height of 2 to 3,5 m. The diameter Ø of the monitored area depends on the installed height (1). Install the detector as follows:
- Remove the front cover by turning it anti-clockwise, then unscrew the upper section of the detector.
- Mark and drill the drilled holes in the desired installation location (only Edition AP).
- Pull the cable through the cable ducts.
- Fasten the detector with a set of screws/dowels.
- Wire the detector according to item 5.
- Fit and screw back on the upper section of the detector.
- Configure device accrding to item 6.
- Fasten the front cover by turning it clockwise.
Wiring
See FIG (6)
The electrical circuit must be protected with a circuit breaker.
Current conduction line | L |

Neutral conductor | N |
Master detector | T1 / S |
Connection
The detector must only be connected to a power supply once all wire connections have been connected. During the start-up phase the red LED is blinking (approx. 40 s).
Configuration
The settings are done over the potentiometer or the DIP switch. To control the detection the detector can set into walk test mode. Set the potentiometer to «Test» to activate the test mode.
Remark: The walk test is independent of the ambient light. If the walk
test is active and no motion
is detected, the blue LED is on, and if a motion is detected the red LED is
on.
The range (SENS) is set over the DIP switch:
Indication
The following status is indicated by the LED.
