Instructions

Dear customers.

  • Thank you for buying a B’TWIN electric-assisted bike.
  • Please read the instruction manual so you can really get the most out of your B’TWIN E-FOLD 500 bike.
  • Remember that an electric-assisted bike is not a moped and your input is required to make it go further, faster and for longer.
  • We suggest that you learn how to use your electric-assisted bike in an open area in order to get used to the feel of the motor kicking in and ensure optimum control when riding.
  • An electric-assisted bicycle is heavier than a conventional bicycle (weight of the B’TWIN E-FOLD 500 without rider is 21.4 kg). Pedalling without assistance can be more difficult.
  • You must always ensure you are capable of completing the entire journey without using the pedal-assist, in case of breakdown.
  • Here are some recommended biking practices to ensure you really get the most out of your B’TWIN E-FOLD 500 bike.
  • Please note, these instructions only refer to the bike’s electric features.
  • For other features, common to all our bikes, you need to refer to the B’TWIN user manual which accompanies this document and is also available on our website www.supportdecathlon.com or on request from our DECATHLON stores.

Pedal-assist mode overview
  • The electric-assisted bicycle can be used with or without assistance by pressing the ON/OFF button and playing around with the ECO – NORMAL – BOOST modes.
  • The ECO – NORMAL – BOOST pedal-assist modes, which you can select in the «D» screen, let you choose a level of electrical assistance in addition to the effort provided.
  • The electrical assistance will only work if you pedal with the screen on and one of the 3 modes is selected. Assistance cuts out if the bike is travelling in excess of 25 km/h (+/-10%). During intensive use and in exceptional weather conditions, the pedal-assist mode may cut out to safeguard the system. The power supplied is calculated by control-ler «B» according to the mode selected. Depending on the mode selected, the controller «B» regulates the amount of current sent to the motor «G,» providing you with the required level of assistance.

The pedal-assist mode does not activate or shuts down in the following situations:

  • Your speed is above 25km/h (+/-10%)
  • You’re not pedalling
  • The battery has insufficient remaining charge.
  • When the control panel is turned off, unplugged or no mode is selected.
  • During intensive use and in exceptional weather conditions the pedal-assist mode may cut out to safeguard the system

| The bike wheel rims are subject to considerable wear and tear so it’s impor- tant to check them to ensure their structural integrity.

Despite being reinforced, the motorized wheel is also subject to greater stresses than a standard bicycle wheel which can result in broken spokes. In the event of a broken spoke, contact your DECATHLON store.

| Check the structural integrity of the battery, in the event of a crash or if the battery falls off.

We are unable to guarantee the water-tightness of your battery in the event of a fall or crash.
