IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions.
  2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  3. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
  4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  5.  Use appliance only for its intended use.
  6. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
  7.  To turn off steamer, unplug cord from outlet. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
  8. Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces. Let the appliance cool completely before cleaning, putting on or taking off parts, and putting the appliance away. Coil the cord loosely around the appliance for storing.
  9. Always disconnect the appliance from the electrical outlet before filling the appliance with water, emptying the water from the appliance, and when the appliance is not in use.
  10. Always secure removable water reservoir to base prior to operating appliance.
  11. To reduce the risk of contact with hot water emitting from steam vents, check appliance before each use by holding it away from body and operating steam button.
  12.  Do not operate any appliance with a damaged supply cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Supply cord replacement and repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Contact Customer Service for information on examination, repair, or adjustment as set forth in the Limited Warranty.
  13. The appliance must be used and rested on a stable surface.
  14. Do not leave the appliance unattended while the appliance is connected to an electrical outlet.
  15. Burns can occur from touching steam holes, hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use caution when you turn a steamer upside down—there might be hot water in the reservoir.
  16. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate an appliance on the same circuit with another high-wattage appliance.
  17. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a cord with an ampere rating equal to or greater than the maximum rating of the appliance shall be used. A cord rated for less amperage can result in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating. Care shall be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or be tripped over.
    SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

Other Consumer Safety Information

  • This appliance is intended for household use only.
  • Direct steam at clothing only. Directing steam toward any other surface may damage that surface.
    • Do not steam clothes that are being worn.
    • Do not use steam in the direction of people or pets.

WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard:

  • This appliance is provided with a polarized plug (one wide blade) to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter.
  • If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.
  • The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.

How to Steam

WARNING Burn Hazard. Steam is hot. Always make sure unit is unplugged and cooled when assembling attachments. Avoid contact with escaping steam.
NOTES:

  • To avoid garment damage, check garment label before using Handheld Steamer. Label inside clothing should recommend fabric care instructions.
  • Steaming garments will give a relaxed, not pressed, look.
  • Do not use Steamer if garment label has this symbol .
Before first use: Press Steam Trigger for a few seconds to remove any sediment from Steamer. Steamer is now ready to steam fabric.
  1. To remove Water Reservoir, while holding Steamer by Handle, turn Water Reservoir clockwise from lock to unlock and pull down.
  2. Pull up on Water Reservoir Fill Cap and fill Water Reservoir with 400 mL (1.7 cups) cold water. Do not overfill. If you have extremely hard water, mix 50% untreated tap water with 50% distilled or demineralized water.
  3. Push Fill Cap back onto Water Reservoir.
  4. Place Steamer on Water Reservoir, aligning black dot on Water Reservoir with unlock on bottom of Steamer, turning counterclockwise to lock.
  5. Ensure Steam Trigger is in unlock position and then plug into outlet.
  6. Blue Power Indicator Light illuminates while plugged in. Steamer is ready to use in 1 minute.
  7. Press top of Steam Trigger for steam or slide Steam Trigger to lock for continuous steam. Always hold Steamer by Handle close to fabric.
  8. Carefully move Steamer up and down over wrinkled areas. Do not hold Steamer in one spot for any length of time; this may cause damage to fabric. If using Fabric Brush attachment, lightly brush fabric while steaming (to improve wrinkle release).
  9. Always keep water in Water Reservoir. To refill Water Reservoir to continue steaming, unplug before adding cold water.
  10. When steaming is complete, unplug and cool completely.
  11. Always remove Water Reservoir and empty water after each use. Store upright.
  12. To use Removable Fabric Brush, make sure Steamer is unplugged and cool before attaching Fabric Brush. To attach Removable Fabric Brush, align Fabric Brush with Tab down over Steamer Plate and push to snap on. To remove, hold finger behind Fabric Brush Tab and push forward.

Steamer Tips

  • To avoid garment damage, check garment label for fabric content and any steaming instructions.
  • Hang garments on a plastic hanger for easier steaming. Wooden hangers will get damaged if used for steaming clothes.
  • Wait 10 minutes before wearing your steamed garment or storing in a closet.
  • When steaming, touching fabrics lightly with Fabric Brush will help in wrinkle removal. It is important to make contact with garment and/or fabric when using the Fabric Brush.
  • For more difficult wrinkles, try steaming from underside of fabric. This allows fibers in fabric to relax.
  • Pants are more easily steamed upside down, with pants hanging from cuffs.

Care and Cleaning

WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard. Disconnect power before cleaning. Do not immerse cord, plug, or base in any liquid.

  1. Unplug. Allow Steamer to cool completely.
  2. Remove Water Reservoir and drain all water.
  3. Add Water Reservoir back onto Steamer. Store Steamer upright, using Cord Wrap (on select models) to secure Power Cord.
