PREPARING THE APPLIANCE FOR SERVICE
- Unplug appliance or disconnect power.
- Turn the water off at the household supply.
- If servicing a refrigerator, purge the product by dispensing water for at least 30 seconds.
- Locate the line connecting the household supply to the product. Disconnect the supply line from the household side, using the container to catch the draining water. Do not disconnect from the product.
INSTALLING THE PRESSURE REGULATOR
-
Use the provided 24″ (61cm) long PEX water line.
-
Using the tube cutter or utility knife, cut the household supply line at the measurement. Ensure that tubing is cut square with no burrs, sharp edges, or deformation to prevent leaking.
-
For bottom mount and side-by-side platforms, locate and remove one of the center screws holding the machine compartment cover in place. (If not available, locate a similar location on the product.) See Figure 2.
-
Using the existing hole, attach the mounting clip with the provided screw. Tighten screw so that the clip does not freely rotate. See Figure 3.
-
Connect the pressure regulator in between the loose ends of the water line by pressing the line ends firmly into the pressure regulator’s connectors. See Figure 4.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the water flow direction indicator arrow on the pressure regulator is pointing in the direction of the water flow (towards the appliance). Verify that the connection is properly made by gently attempting to pull the line straight out. If the line remains connected, the connection was properly made.
-
Attach the pressure regulator to the mounting clip in the orientation shown (Vertical: Outlet on bottom / Inlet on top) See Figure 5.
-
If necessary, add the two adhesive-backed tubing clips on the household supply line to support the line and prevent kinking. See Figure 6.
RECONNECTING THE APPLIANCE
-
Reconnect the water supply connections as specified by the product installation instructions, supplied with the product.
-
Turn on the household water supply.
WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard
Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
Do not remove ground prong.
Do not use an adapter.
Do not use an extension cord.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock. -
Reconnect power to the product.
-
Ensure the product is turned on and cooling.
-
If servicing a refrigerator, purge the product by running the water for at least one minute.
NOTE: If there is no water, check that the pressure regulator was
installed in the proper flow direction.
IMPORTANT: Check all connections for leaks. When placing the product into
its final location for usage be sure not to kink the household supply line. A
kinked supply line could cause no ice or water, or low ice and water
problems. Leave a two inch (2”) minimum gap between the appliance back and
wall.
