These instructions should be read carefully and retained for further reference and maintenance.
- Universal Emergency Driver that can convert any LED 3W-30W luminaire in to an emergency fitting (battery pack required)
- Battery pack not supplied – EUEBP required
- LED Panel driver not supplied, the LED panel Driver will be required

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The luminaire must be installed by a skilled electrician and to the most current electrical wiring and building regulations This product MUST NOT be subject to an electrical insulation test (500/1000v) which will not be covered by the warranty This luminaire is NOT suitable to be used with dimmer switches This product should not be modified in any way, if modified this will invalidate any warranties and Lightsafe will not be liable for any damages caused The person carrying out the installation is to check and verify that the total load on the circuit, including the rating of the cable, fuse and/or circuit breaker is not exceeded It is the responsibility of the installer to consider any fire risks and breach in any fire protection barriers or partitions, and take the appropriate precautions Emergency lighting should be installed and maintained in accordance with BS5266 and BS EN50172.

INSTALLATION
- Ensure the mains supply is isolated
- The LED Driver that is supplied with the LED panel will need to be connected to the EUED pack. The Red wire of the EUED will need to be connected to Live input the existing LED panel driver and neutral to neutral. The DC Plug will need to be plugged in the socket of the EUED pack.
- For non-maintained operation a permanent 230v AC supply is required to the permanent live (Un-Switched Brown wire) and neutral (N) wires of the EUED driver.
- For maintained operation for switched or continuous illumination this can be achieved by connecting a Switch Live to the Black wire.
- Ensure a suitable IP rated junction box is required for the premade AC electrical connections and that a cable clamps is used to keep the cables secure and that ALL electrical connections are tight and secure with no loose strands
- Plug the EUEBP battery leads in to the EUED connector
- Ensure there is at least 100mm of free space around the top of the luminaire, driver and battery pack and ensure no insulation is placed on top of the driver and battery pack or its associated parts.
- Restore the mains supply, the green charge LED should be illuminate
- Allow 24 hour to charge the batteries and record the installation date in the log book
- After a 24 hour charge period test the luminaire for a full 3 hour duration by removing the 230v AC supply and record the date of the commissioning on the battery pack inside the luminaire and also in the log book
- Subsequent testing should be carried out in accordance with the British/European standards and recorded in the log book
TESTING
Daily Monthly:
Ensure the luminaires are tested in accordance with 5266-8:2004 / BS EN
50172:2004Ensure the green charge LED is illuminatedSimulate a mains power
supply failre, for a period of time fficient to ensure that each lamp is
illuminated and then recorded in the log book Similar test to a monthly but
the full emergency duration should be tested.
Annually Defects:
Any defects or failures should be noted and recorded in the log book andactioned by a competent personas soon as possible
Maintenance
Repairs should only be carried out by suitably qualified personServicing should only be carried out after the fitting has been made electrically safe and the battery disconnected.
Environment:
Please DO NOT dispose of electrical items or packaging as unrted wste, use the recycling facilities providedby your local authorities.
Warranty
This product is covered by an extended warranty for 3 years from date of
purchase.Batteries are regarded as a consumable item, and as such, are not
covered by the Extended Warranty periods andare only coveed by a 1 year
warranty.The extended warranty is available following installation in the UK
or Ireland by a competent person in accordancewith the curent building and IEE
wiring regulations.For full terms and conditions in regards to our extended
warranty please refer to the website.
