Intended use
Assessment of sounds and noises in human medicine associated with the activity of the heart, lungs, and intestines. During blood pressure measurement, a stethoscope is used to hear Korotkoff sounds.
Indication
A stethoscope is used in human medicine in general to capture and assess sounds and noises associated with the activity of the heart, lungs, and intestines. During blood pressure measurement, the stethoscope is used to hear Korotkoff sounds. The device is thus suitable for the supplementary diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the respiratory tract, and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Contraindication
No contraindications are known.
intended users
The boso stethoscopes are used by physicians and medical professionals.
Target patient group
The boso stethoscopes are suitable for auscultation in adults, children,
infants, and newborns.
Using the double-sided chest piece (only boli, boki, cardio)
- By rotating the chest piece around the connection, the stethoscope is adjusted for use of the diaphragm side or the bell side. Rotate until you clearly feel the piece snap into place.
- Use the diaphragm side for the auscultation of high frequencies and the bell side for the auscultation of low frequencies.
- With the binaural on, you can immediately hear whether the diaphragm is active by lightly rubbing the diaphragm.
Adjusting the binaural
- Your boso stethoscope has been constructed and adjusted in the factory so that it adapts comfortably to and acoustically seals the ear.
- When inserting the eartips into the ears, they should point forward in the direction of the auditory canal.
- If the spring tension is nonetheless too high or too low for you personally, it can be easily adjusted:
Too high:
Hold the binaural firmly as shown and slowly pull the two sides apart until
the binaural is sufficiently expanded.
Adjusting the binaural
Too low:
Hold the binaural in your hand at the connector between the metal and plastic
and slowly squeeze it together until both plastic tubes cross over each other.
Repeat the procedure until the desired tension is reached.
Changing the diaphragm
- To remove the diaphragm, hold the chest piece with the diaphragm side facing upwards and roll the protective ring off downwards using both thumbs and index fingers.
- To mount the diaphragm, lay it on the chest piece and place the protective ring with the shorter edge facing downwards directly on the diaphragm. Secure the protective ring at one position using your thumb and index finger. Now push the protective ring down with your other thumb, using circular motions along the ring. Align the protective ring such that the diaphragm is fully secured.
Changing the ear tips
- To change the eartips, unscrew the tips over the integrated thread and affix the new tips by screwing them on.
WARNING
To avoid injuries, check that the tips are correctly positioned prior to each use.
Cleaning
For cleaning, use a cloth dampened with a mild soap solution or alcohol (70% isopropyl). Never use abrasive cleaning agents, thinners, or benzene for cleaning.
WARNING
Do not place the stethoscope in cleaning fluid.
Disinfection
We recommend using mikrozid® sensitive liquid disinfectant (Schülke & Mayr) to
disinfect the device by wiping it, leaving the disinfectant on for at least 5
minutes.
incident reporting obligation
A serious incident is to be reported to the manufacturer and the competent
authority of the member state in which the user and/or patient is located. A
“serious incident” denotes an incident that had, could have had, or could have
one of the following consequences, directly or indirectly:
- the death of a patient, user, or another person,
- the temporary or permanent serious worsening in the state of health of a patient, user, or other persons,
