About Our Lights, General tips
Clearwater Lights are very bright LED auxiliary lights. Do not use these with oncoming traffic present unless the dimmer is turned down all the way. Krista, Erica and Sevina are designed as off road only light’s due to the powerful light output and specific beam pattern they boast. The wide circular pattern is very useful on mountain roads when on a motorcycle, as it keeps light on the road and in the tree canopy. As the bike leans, lights are still focused on the road. Be certain to use the lights in a manner that does not blind oncoming traffic. Erica / Krista / Sevina can also be used in a “low” beam mode and a “high” beam mode. The factory handlebar high beam switch is used to select the two different Erica / Krista / Sevina modes. Krista light output is about 3000+ lumens each light while only using 35 watts of power. Erica light output is 6000+ lumens each light while using about 60 watts of power. Sevina commands 7000+ lumens each light using about 70 watts of power. Erica / Krista / Sevina are easy to install and have many, many uses.
Installation Tips
There are two main parts to the installation of your new Clearwater Lights. The mechanical portion, and the electrical portion. With this manual, we will go over the basics of both which should allow you to get your lights up and running. For more information please visit our website at: www.clearwaterlights.com
Note: Motorcycle engine needs to be running before the lights will function.
Installation Overview
Please take a moment to review this wiring diagram before you start installation. Ensure you have all of the components ready for installation. If you have questions, please call us at 916-852-7029 or email us at sales@clearwaterlights.com.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to route wires so that they cannot become tangled or caught in either the suspension or the steering assembly. Verify there is enough slack in the wires to move both steering and suspension to full lock and compression before finishing the installation. It is sometimes helpful to follow existing wire routing.
Bike Preparation and Disassembly
- First, ensure the the motorcycle is parked on hard, flat pavement or concrete so that the bike will be stable during installation. Utilize a center stand if possible.
- Removal of the headlight surround cover is required for the installation of Clearwater Lights. The headlight cover is held by four rubber plugs and can be removed by pulling straight forward.
- The skid plate and its (6) T40 Torx screws must be removed. Be careful not to touch the battery terminals with the skid plate!
- Disconnect the negative terminal front the battery first, then the positive.
- We recommend the Clearwater Lights harness be installed and fastened towards the front of the bike under the front faring. Use the supplied zip ties to secure in place.
- Unplug the headlight connector from the back of the headlight. Plug the supplied Clearwater Lights headlight jumper into the back of the headlight. Plug the OEM headlight connector into the Clearwater Lights jumper. The jumper acts as a pass through.
- The white wire that comes off of the headlight jumper is the highbeam signal wire. The red wire from the headlight jumper is the switched hot signal wire. These wires should be Posi-Locked to their matching thin colored wires on the harness. The second white wire from the harness is for the optional horn feature which will turn the Clearwater Lights to 100% when the horn is pressed. Use the supplied Posi-Tap to tap into the 12V+ horn wire.
Reference the wiring diagram on page 3 for a visual representation of these instructions and for the system’s overview. - Mount the dimmer box on the handlebars as shown in the photo here. Use the supplied ‘L’ bracket to position the dimmer in a comfortable orientation. The wire from the dimmer should be routed to the Clearwater Lights harness and plugged into the mating green connector.
- Mount the supplied switch on the handlebars and follow the wiring diagram on page 3 for more wiring details.
- Route the power wires from the Clearwater Lights harness down to the battery. Use the supplied zip tie pull tool to pull the power wires through the tight spaces. Ensure the fuse and fuse holder are attached to the positive (red) power wi However, do not connect to the battery until installation is complete.
- Follow the exploded diagrams below for mounting and assembly of your Clearwater Lights. Pro Tip: A dab of loctite is a good idea.

Alignment / Grommet Precaution
Aligning The Lights:
Clearwater Lights are designed as auxiliary lights, adjustment is up to the
user depending on their needs. Ask an assistant to help you with this
procedure. Make sure the bike is on level ground and have an assistant sit on
the bike. We have found that levelling the lights works well to limit glare
for oncoming traffic while maintaining optimal light projection. You may find
that a slight downward angle (a couple degrees) is helpful.

After levelling the lights, ensuring wire routing is done safely, and connecting the power wires (positive on first) and fuse to the battery, start the bike to test the lights. All steps are complete. Congratulations, you have completed your Clearwater Lights installation!
