Safety and Installation Requirements

Please ensure that these instructions are read and understood before starting any service work. Failure to comply with these instructions may cause product/ property damage, severe personal injury and/or loss of life.
Working on the equipment
The installation, adjustment, service and maintenance of this product must be performed by a licensed professional heating contractor who is qualified and experienced in the installation, service, and maintenance of hot water boilers. There are no user serviceable parts on the boiler, burner or control.

Ensure that main power to the equipment being serviced is off.
Ensure that the main fuel supply valve to the boiler is closed.
Take precautions to avoid accidental activation of power or fuel during service work.
Do not perform service work on any component part without ensuring safe operation of the heating system.
When replacing parts, use original Viessmann or Viessmann approved replacement parts.
Refer to the Installation and Service Instructions applicable to this boiler.

Preparing New Parts for Diverting Valve

The replacement valve body must be disassembled prior to beginning the repair.

1. Remove the stepper motor bracket from the valve body by rotating the motor bracket approximately 45 degrees and then pulling straight up.
2. Using a pair of pliers or adjustable wrench on the flats of the valve body cap rotate the cap counterclockwise approximately 45 degrees and then pulling straight out to remove the cap from the valve body.
3. Using a pair of pliers to pull gently slide the gate valve out of the valve body, the gate valve is pre-lubricated, ensure that the lubricant is not removed or becomes contaminated.
4. To facilitate re-installation of the gate valve it may be necessary to remove the gate valve from the gate valve cap.
5. The valve body can be discarded.Please file in Service Binder

1. Prior to beginning, isolated and drain the boiler. Take care to protect internal components, as there may still be residual water that may leak out during the replacement.
2. Disconnect the plug from stepper motor and remove the motor.
3. Remove the stepper motor bracket from the valve body by rotating the motor bracket approximately 45 degrees and then pulling straight out
4. Using a pair of pliers or adjustable wrench on the flats of the valve body cap rotate the cap counterclockwise approximately 45 degrees and then pulling straight out to remove the cap from the valve body.
5. Using a pair of pliers to pull gently slide the gate valve out of the valve body.
6. To facilitate removal of the gate valve it may be necessary to remove the gate valve from the gate valve cap.

Installation

1. Slide new gate valve into the valve body, if the gate valve cap was removed to aid reassembly ensure that the gate valve cap is re-installed on to the gate valve before fully inserting the gate valve. Ensure proper orientation during re-installation.
2.  Re-install valve body cap on to the valve body.
3. Re-install stepper motor mounting bracket on to the valve body.
4. Re-install stepper motor mounting bracket on to the stepper motor mounting bracket.
5. Re-connect the plug to the stepper motor.
6. Open boiler supply and return valves and check for leaks.
7. Purge the air from the boiler and put boiler back into operation.
